  1. Everything is going to be a learning experience. What some can tolerate others cannot. With that said I am 4 weeks out and I am allowed brown rice or quinoa granted I have yet to try them because they terrify me lol.

True !!!!! I believe you. I dumped on teriyaki chicken and that's it. I've been very by the book as far what my doctor said. I just miss quinoa.

  2. Woohoo!

How long was it after completing the Options program until you got your initial surgery date?

I have my orientation to the Options program on Monday at Panorama City Kaiser.

You'll get your psych eval done, xray, labs, everything while you're taking the classes. I did options at panorama like 3 yrs ago or so but Obama kicked in and I lost my healthcare. Then I moved to Lancaster and I took them again last year. I'm getting it done at the West LA Kaiser. Everyone tells me that's the best place to get it done

  5. I told them originally I only wanted the sleeve. You will not be able to take Any NSAIDS after surgery.{Aspirin.Aleve,Napraoxen,Moltrin}. This will lead to ulcers.
My surgeon told me that if you take NSAIDs then to get the sleeve so you can still take them. Said with the bypass you can't take them.

Yeah my back would get so bad I was on 10-325 percocet for 2 yrs with muscle relaxers. After 2 yrs of epidurals and facet joint injections I'm off those meds. That over the counter stuff never helped me any I heard you can still take Tylenol. I think you gotta look at all your health conditions and look at which one gives you a higher percentage chance of giving you a better quality of life. The data is out there and we all have to make the call to what is best for each of us

  6. Let your sister be warned she might have to have another surgery if she develops acid reflux.I didn't have issues for a long time.Had sleeve in 2011.Then this year 2016 started having a lot of acid and bile reflux.

I'll tell her. I explained how I came to my decision but I'll keep sharing info and keep pushing her to join bariatric pal and my Facebook bariatric support groups

  7. Yeah. If you kick it completely you're gonna drop your sugar big time. Cause its liquid it fucks us up faster and worse. Also arroz and tortillas no no. bread, only wheat and minimize. Try like veggies with teriyaki chicken. Caldo de pollo, chicken with a little rice but more veggies. Try that for 3 months with a little walking. I can't walk too much but unos 10, 15 min walk couple times a week. You'll be under 7.0 . Just keep at it. My girl makes tamales, I just be praying to go to keep me strong lol
