I only regretted it in the very beginning when i was on broth and my family was having steak..and it was more of a pout than a true regret...I missed chewing...but now nearly 3 months out and down 52 pounds I honestly wonder why on earth I didn't do this sooner.

Not at all. I had moments early on wondering "what did I do", but I barely remember that time. With 65 pounds gone and so much energy, I'm really glad I did it.

I work and take classes at a university and many people either know me or have seen me.
I was getting some yogurt because I forgot to eat before class and one of the guys who work in the cafeteria just stared at me and was like "wow wow wow, I'm single!" Haha and when he rang me up he said "I'm going to make this last as long as I can, I'm speechless" and he gave me my bills one at a time all the people who worked in the cafeteria were telling me how fabulous I looked
Then I was in the elevator going back up to the classroom and one of the guys who works here ran to the elevator because the doors were still open and he just kinda kept looking at me and he said "are you the same girl that used to work over at the information center?" And I was like yeah and he was like "you've slimmed down, you look great! Doing an amazing job!" He even got out of the elevator even though he was going to a different floor to watch me walk away Hahahaha I've never even met him before
This has really been made me feel so good and is such a confidence booster!
I haven't had guys flirt with me in a very very long time haha and I'm 29 (30 on Saturday!!) and am very single haha it feels really nice
    It made my day!

Nope. I followed my surgeon's instructions to the letter. It was the deal I made with myself. Doing it "my way" and "listening to my body" got me to the point where I needed surgery to lose weight. Why allow someone to alter my anatomy only to go back to doing what got me to the point of surgery in the first place. My surgeon has a diet progression in place for a reason and I followed it. When I was released to my nutritional plan for life, I followed that too and worked closely with my program's dietitian. I've actually been more strict than my plan and it has worked for me as I'm maintaining a 130lb loss. I don't feel deprived, I don't miss certain foods. I have adopted a new eating plan for life and it works for me.
I agree that I don't believe in "cheating." You're not cheating; you're making a choice to eat certain foods. Whether early on when they could be dangerous to your heath or later on when they could impact your loss. Everything you eat is a choice.

My own choice but I stayed on some of the stages for longer than they said I could. My body told me when I was ready for the next stage.
I am sure some have 'cheated' but whats the point in that? Seems a bit daft to have the surgery and then not make the best of the honeymoon period. Especially when you are healing. You will never get that first 6 weeks back and its a great time to change the mindset over food which will carry you onto long term sucess.
Isn't that why we had the surgery in the first place?

Many people have, and the board is full of the discussions about it.
I personally have come to hate the word "cheat".
Until you are released to full solid foods, you are on a diet progression prescribed by your doctor to ensure you heal the best possible after a major abdominal surgery. Deviating from those instructions is in my mind, not "cheating", it's willfully disregarding your physician's instructions that are designed to let you heal and keep you safe.
I'm a nurse, and I will tell you that deviating from your surgeon's diet progression can be VERY dangerous. Some people will do it and have no ill effects. Some will land in the hospital, possibly the ICU, with a leak. A few will even die.
Once you are cleared to a full solid diet, then it's just about choices. You choose to follow the plan, or not. The consequences are the changes in your success. "Cheating" minimizes the choice you're making.
To answer the question, while I was progressing from liquids to purees to solids, no I did not deviate from my surgeon's guidelines. WAY too risky.
Since having been released to solid foods, I have eaten things that weren't really "on plan" and I may have slowed my weight loss making that choice.

I had my 6 week appointment and the doctor said I am doing awesome! I have lost 20 pounds since my last appointment and 35 overall so far. I feel like myself, and I'm starting to look like me again.
This was definitely the best decision for me and I couldn't be happier!

Maybe you shouldn't get either. You haven't had surgery yet and you are already trying to figure out how to best eat Cookies and cakes after you have it done. If you still plan to eat sweets, just avoid the problem altogether and don't have surgery. Problem solved.

Tomorrow is my day! I have to be there at 5 AM surgery at 7. I am prepping my food for the week. I will be on full liquids when I leave the hospital Tuesday. I have Tomato Soup, black bean Soup, Greek yogurt and Protein pudding and Protein pudding pops. I also have grits and malto meal for Breakfast. I have a lot of sugar free titanic syrups to flavor the yogurt and maybe the malto meal. I'm ready to go! My journey has begun!!!!

I was on the bus home the other day and when we passed the high school I saw that they had a sign for Bay Path University. I've been wanting to go back to school and get my Bachelors (I have my Associate Degree) so I looked it up. They have a campus at the high school for their "One Day A Week" college. I talked to one of the Admission's peeps today and I filled out the online application. I even completed the financial aid paperwork, but I know I won't qualify. Luckily my work will reimburse me up to $6,000 a year for classes (as long as I get a "C" or better). The school even has a "deferred payment" program knowing that most jobs won't pay until after you get your grades.
I'm going to start in September. I'm excited. I haven't been this excited since finding out my surgery was approved.

Everyone is looking great! Pictures tell the story! My loss was so slow that pics really kept me from jumping off the deep end. I could SEE the changes, especially when I compared them to pre-op. Take pics. LOTS and LOTS of pics!
It also takes a while for the brain to catch up with the smaller you. Introduce your brain to the new, changing you as often as possible. People will think you're vain.... let 'em. You NEED to look at the new you as often as possible. IT really does take awhile to adjust.
