    Starving 6/7 days post op

I would wake in the night and feel a"hunger" although not the same hunger feeling I had pre sleeve. I'm not sure what feelings you are having whether it's hunger or not. My hunger is a hollow feeling in the bottom of my throat and I know it's hunger cause I only eat every 4 hours. If u are having liquids which it sounds like u are it doesn't stay in your stomach but passes through very quickly. When you get to the solids stage it will change!!... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Oh I hope so. I'm even scared I might accidentally wake up in the middle of the night half asleep and take a bite out of something. I thought that hunger nerve was cut or something. I mean this is just ridiculous. I can't wait for the green light so I can have a spoonful of refried Beans. Wow you are so brave. Congrats you look great!! The first thing I said when I came out of my RNY surgery was "I'll never get plastics now". I had so much pain upon waking. I couldn't imagine how much pain a TT would be. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  7. You look fabulous. Thank you so much for sharing!! Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  8. Did you do anything special to keep your skin in check? I'm 7 days post op. My surgery weight was 194. My stomach already looks like silly putty. But I have had 4 children Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  9. I'm 7 days post op. Same thing as you most of my pain and big brusies are on my left side. I sleep on my couch with tons of pillows to prop me up. Each day gets a bit easier. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  10. I never imagined I would be. I can tell im starting to get very irritable. Warm tea and popsicles seem to be the only thing that im not super sick of. My next appointment is Jan 30 and my Dr will move me onto my next phase. It seems so far away. I can't wait. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  11. Oh and be prepared to be hungry. I don't know if it happens to everyone but my hunger has not went away since my pre-op diet. I feel like I am starving all the time. I even wake up in the middle of the night starving. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Today I can start Protein shakes/ powder. I just had my first "shot" of protein. Note to self GENEPRO mixed with crystal light is no good. I'm going to try it with broth next. Also I've been sitting here looking at my vitamins/prescriptions in fear. They always make me so sick. Well at least I have zolfran. I might have to suck it up and purchase the Patches for a little while. Picture is Vitamins, morn, noon, eve, bed plus calcium chews. On the right is my shot of crystal light on the right is crystal light with gene pro. My Breakfast of champions!!! Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  13. Im 6 days post op and just had my first BM finally. I've been taking mirilax, milk of magnesia, colace. If I didn't have a BM today my Dr was going to have me do an enema. Guess that was enough to scare the shit out of me lol Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Get your house in order cuz your not going to want to do much, stock up on every flavor you can of crystal light/ sugar free Water flavor cuz water gets so boring. Im 6 days post op and I feel like in just full of water and pills all the time. Get Vitamins you like even if it cost a little more. Be prepared to sleep in a semi up right position. I still can't lay flat. It pulls on my incisions. I sleep on the couch. Buy those medicine 1 ounce cups. They have helped me keep track of my Fluid intake. Take a notebook to the hospital so you can write down questions that might come up and important thing you don't want to forget. Be prepared to sip water around the clock. This is the most annoying part to me. But it works. I get 64 oz of water and 90 grams of Protein a day by doing it. Be prepared to be exhausted for a while. Im still napping throughout the day. Start a stool softeners and or mirilax before surgery. If you never had a problem with constipation you will now and if you have had a problem watch out because it will get worse for a little while. I think it's because of the narcotics. Research everything you can. The internet has some good stuff and YouTube. Hope some of this helped. It will be worth it!!! 16. Ahhh yeah I forgot that it differs from sleeve to bypass. I'm a bypass patient. So maybe I'll have to get use to the dill relish instead of the sweet. Thank you. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  17. I thought my protein shakes, broths ect counted as liquid too. My NUT told me that anything that has protein in it is no longer counted as liquid. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App Yeah that is weird. I guess it's just like the pre op diet and diet progression. Every Dr has their way about things. 18. I thought my protein shakes, broths ect counted as liquid too. My NUT told me that anything that has protein in it is no longer counted as liquid. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App Oh wow. Ok good to know. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yeah, kinda sucked to find that out because I found this protein Water that had 30 grams (I think) of protein in it per bottle and was like I got this all figured out lol Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  19. I got stiches and glue. I think I'm going to use mederma once it's OK. Mine are starting to itch a little which is a good sign. But my narcotics make me itching as well Ive caught myself almost scratching them Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App

  21. I'm experiencing more pain this day than any other. I can't sleep and the narcotics aren't taking the edge off the pain. I think it might be because that numbing injection at my incision sites have worn off??? Idk... But it's almost unbearable Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App

    Day 5 post op

Thank you. I did call and spoke with the on call Dr. He told me to add a pain pill to what I'm already taking and if that doesn't help then he wants to see me. It's more of an internal muscle pain. I'm thinking maybe I've built up a tolerance to the pain meds. One reason why they said they could not get my pain under control as soon as I came out of surgery was because I was on narcotics for 9 months due to a pretty brutal broken bone in my foot. They said my body had build up a tolerance. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App

    Calcium Citrate Question

I buy the same as you and am also looking for a cheaper way to go. So far no luck. Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
  24. My stomach never really felt "weird". The incisions were uncomfortable for a little while, but never really painful. My stomach (internally) felt normal almost immediately. The first few days (maybe a week and a half?) I had a weird sensation when I swallowed food, like I could feel it going down, but it didn't hurt, just a new sensation and then it went away. You've never heard of egg salad? It's delicious. Take some hard boiled eggs, chop them up with a fork, mix in some mayo, and that's the basic egg salad. I also mix in mustard and sweet relish. It's great by itself, or (pre-op) on a bagel or a roll or crackers. I love sweet relish in my egg salad and tuna salad. But worried about dumping because of the sugar. Do you use sweet relish? If so have you had any problems with it? Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App
