Full liquid diet ideas?
I just picked up some cream of pumpkin and cream of broccoli soup. The pictures on the boxes don't show any lumps, but I got cheesecloth too! They also had cream of squash. Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Is there anyone else who got pregnant before 5 weeks post op?
You just need to be careful with Protein and Calcium. The zygote would not have been implanted yet the next day, you you weren't technically pregnant. You'll probably be healthier with your new diet! CONGRATULATIONS! Is this your first?! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Preop liquid diet
I don't know about the Crohns and I currently live premier. But have you tried Muscle Milk 100?I'd be interested to know if you find a " clean", palatable Protein shake! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Flexible Spending Account
I was hoping to, but I changed jobs and my new job doesn't have it! Find out how many pre-op tests you'll need. (EGD, cardio clearance, pulmonary clearance, sleep study, psyche clearance, lab work, etc) You'll need co-pays for all those. I actually met my deductible, which was $1200. I only needed Multivitamins and Calcium pre-op. Hope this helps! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Talk about losing motivation...
My nut says your body has to take a break from losing every 20-40 pounds to redistribute the fat. You don't lose it evenly. Otherwise you would be lumpy! Bump up your Water and walking. It's a process! You're doing great! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Dr office
I left a much loved doctor because of that! I would mention it to him/her. I guess I'm really lucky because my surgeon's office team is awesome! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Failure, forgiveness & getting real
I am pre-op and I have tried Premier and Pure Protein. I love Premier, hopefully I can still tolerate it post-op! Pure Protein is too thick for me. I definitely want to go back to real food as quickly as possible! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Time off
My surgeon suggests 4 weeks. My boss is fine with that. I'm a home health nurse, so it's a lot of driving and sitting. Nowhere near the intensity of a staff nurse! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

Reflux caused by EGD?
I have had GERD for 20 years but it was totally under control before EGD! I had to double my nexium for 2 weeks. AlkaSelzer heartburn chews are awesome and delicious! Also addicting! Sent from my HTCD200LVW using the BariatricPal App

I want to get the Sleeve but surgeon is pushing Roux En Y
I was planning on the bypass also. Then when I had my EDG, he found that the part of my stomach that would end up "blind" with that surgery, was full of polyps. I also have a large hiatal hernia and have been treated for heartburn/GERD that may be caused by the hernia. He suggested I get the sleeve because of the polyps. I had never really considered the sleeve, so I started researching it and have decided that I would rather have the sleeve than the bypass. I got my approval letter on Friday afternoon (after the office closed, of course!) and found that I had been approved for the bypass. So, now they will have to resubmit me for the sleeve, I guess. Hopefully it will all work out because I was approved very quickly for the bypass. I will also have the hernia repaired with the surgery. I'm hoping the heartburn goes away with the hernia, but it's totally under control with 20mg a day of nexium. Have you read any books about the surgeries?

When will I feel better or even remotely better?
Your baby's probably having a great time bonding with your parents! Enjoy your healing time! If you can, walk outside. Only wear the binder while you're standing/walking. Try laying on your left side, it straightens the bowel a little for easier gas passage! If you're allowed, take a shower at least once a day! Good luck! Dr. Does not stand by choice
I was a Labor and Delivery RN for 15 years and had many patients with WLS! The pregnancy will be easier and safer for you and baby once the weight is off! You will have to be careful with your diet during pregnancy to make sure you get enough nutrition, but it will still be better than if you are very overweight. You will also be better able to chase after that little one when you are healthy! Start looking for a supportive doctor! Good luck!
