When did you guys go back to work?

I took 6 weeks off and have an office job. I had some complications and overall feel blessed that I had the full 6 weeks to work on myself without having to go to work. Don't rush back!

What is considered a required visit?

Insurance is likely going to want good notes but your surgeon's office should be able to review the notes and know if you have a good shot or not. I remember my dietician told me I needed one primary doctor at the end of my three months of insurance required visits because the notes from the first visit weren't going to cut it. At the end of the day it's up to insurance but maybe the surgeon can at least give you their input. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Pain on right side

Your large incision is where the stomach was pulled out. I had pain for a while around my incision and also held it while I walked. A compassion belt will help wonders!

That's great news! I was approved in under two days and it definitely makes the process much less stressful!

    Fresh fruit (apples, grapes etc..)

I would check with your surgeon or nutritionist. Grapes for example are a big no for me because of the skin (per my nutritionist).

    Pain on right side

Did you have your stomach pulled out in your right or left side? If it was your right side that probably explains your pain. However, my stomach was pulled out from my left side and about two weeks after surgery I had horrible pain on my right side. The doctor said that I likely pulled a muscle and it would pass. It lasted for about three weeks and finally just passed. An option would be to contact your doctor to be on the safe side .

    Post op weight loss

I lost I believe 17.4 pounds in the first 5 days after surgery. However, for the next three weeks or so I lost basically nothing. It'll likely catch up to you and you'll slow down which is normal.

    Question in weight loss

The same thing happened to me (and a lot of people). Just keep telling yourself that this too shall pass! I'm now six weeks post-op and I have been losing nicely since my five week mark (about week 2 to 5 was nothing and I even gained some).

    Return to work

I go back to work tomorrow after six weeks off. I have a desk job and I'm glad I took the time off because it has been pretty uncomfortable for me to sit. I did have some complications but at the end of the day I'm happy it has been six weeks. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    4 month Surgiversary - update

Great job! I can only dream of being down so much so quickly. My surgery was on 11/22 and on 4/29 I'll be having my wedding reception for our one year anniversary (it was too rushed when we got married so no time). I would love to be down that much! Keep up the great work!

Everyone is different! Here is my loss :)

Yes, it is SO easy to get discouraged! I've been trying so hard to remember that each journey is different .
  25. Hello all, I had surgery on 11/22 which makes me 5 weeks and 4 days post op. I have seen a lot of posts today regarding stalls and comparing weight loss with one another. I did this the first week or so after surgery and drove myself nuts over it lol. I decided to make a post outlining my loss so far and to say that I am okay with it. Yes, I had an immediate high loss but I am now down 7.2 pounds in the last 30 days which isn't even 2 pounds per week. However, I am okay with this . I have been going back on forth on whether or not it's a good thing. I've thought to myself that I'm only 5 weeks post op and have only managed to lose 7.2 pounds in the past 30 days...but I'm okay with it! Everyone is different and it's not a race. I even gained two pounds two weeks after surgery but it's okay! I know that I am doing the right things and that's all that I can do. 286.4-Nov 22nd surgery day 277.0-Nov 26th 4 days post op down 9.4 pounds 269.0-Nov 30th 8 days post op down 17.4 pounds 271.0-Dec 8th 16 days post op down 15.4 pounds 265.2-Dec 22nd 30 days post op down 21.2 pounds 261.8-Dec 31st 39 days post op down 24.6 pounds
