I had a sleeve and kept off my 90 pounds for 6 years. But! I stoped using my tool thinking since I can’t eat that much I won’t gain well for married and are small but bad then more and stretched my sleeve. Still ate well at times but because of health problems I. March could not work out and I gained 10 pounds in honeymoon and 28 since covid. Bad I know. Anyways I also had acid reflux but wanted to lose and keep off. Did the bypass and I’ve dropped 17 pounds already. I’m happy I did it. Just got it Monday and I’m in pain it’s WAY worse than the sleeve. But hey we can all get seconds chances we just have to stick to it so I’m joining a support group Monday and I’m logging all my fluids and food In myfitnesspal it’s the only way I can do it.

This is so encouraging to hear! I'm in almost the exact same place. I'd lost the weight and kept it off for years after my sleeve, then new relationship, Covid, blah, blah. The GERD was already out of control and now the gain has got me thinking about revision. I'm researching Bypass vs Switch debating what's best. Just had to cancel my appt with my surgeon when I got Covid, now going to get this going in the next few months. I'm glad to hear it's going well for you. But the pain makes me nervous. I had considerable after my sleeve!

  2. I saw several surgeons and was given a very broad assortment of prices for the Tummy Tuck part. I finally found a surgeon who was willing to do a mini tuck at no cost and only bill the insurance for the panniculectomy. Works for me! She was wonderful! I'm two weeks out of surgery and still healing, but so far extremely happy with the results. Look around and find a surgeon that you are comfortable with. No regrets!

  3. Cheryl, we are in the same boat! Same height, weight, and surgery date! My Hair loss just started a few days ago and it's freaking me out. When I hated my body I at least loved my hair, and now I'm losing it! Doc says Protein is the key and I've been bad about that lately. If you find the miracle cure for this, please share it, but it seems like this is a wait and see thing and we just have to ride this out.

I agree with others, some days I feel like I can eat more than other days. Sometimes it depends on how good I am with liquids, obviously can't eat as much if I had too much Water too soon to eating. Yesterday I got in probably 3 oz of chicken and a couple bites of salad and today I had two bites of chicken and 3 bites of salad and I was done but today I kept up my Water better and probably drank a couple swallows within 20 min of eating.

Wait...you had salad? I'm so jealous! I've been craving salad like crazy, but I can't tolerate it. I made the mistake of trying a few bites of lettuce about 8-9 weeks out and that was a hard no. Now I'm afraid to try again. I can tolerate most other things well. Anyone know how long before I should try again?

  5. This is the best thread! I've 5'. I started at 211 and was 178 when I had my surgery in Dec. I swelled up like a balloon after surgery and gained 16lbs from the fluids and swelling. I'm working my ass off in the gym (literally) and sticking to my diet. I'm getting there! It's good to have a group of people who get it. We have fewer total pounds to lose so it comes off slower, but that doesn't make us less deserving of celebrating our triumphs!

  6. @@CocoNina 25 pounds including my liquid phase. 40 overall. Don't expect the massive, rapid loss you sometimes see people have here. I did and it was just frustrating me. We are different. I find myself getting down because I'm only losing 1-2 pounds a week, but then I realize...hey, wait, I'm halfway to goal 6 weeks out! And the difference in how I feel is AMAZING! Be patient with your body throughout your journey and know that if you are following the rules, you will be successful 100% of the time. Oh, and, yes, losing those hunger hormones is the best perk ever!

  7. Your pre-surgery height and weight are almost identical to mine! I had my surgery Dec 19. I can tell you that the first 3-4 days were the worst for me. Part of it is head hunger and part of it is detoxing from all the sugar and garbage we are used to eating. Once I made it past that, I honestly felt great! I was worried about being tired and concentrating at work, but I ended up feeling better and more energized than ever. Keep up the Protein. It helps with the hunger. Keep your eye on the prize and I promise it gets easier. By the time you get to the hospital, you will be ready and already getting thinner!

  8. YAAAAY. Let me tell you that was my breaking point. I couldnt laugh hard anymore. That was it. Next stop WLS. Congratulations, looking fwd to that day in my near future.

That was the final straw for me too! Of the serious comorbidities I had, peeing myself was the biggest thing that sent me into surgery. It works! Congratulations on your decision!

  9. I have a non-scale victory to share that some of you may be familiar with. I'm off my Detrol! For those who don't know what that means, it means I can laugh and sneeze without peeing my pants! LOL. It's amazing how a few pounds lost can make a difference with this problem. I've had issues for years, and finally can go in public without fear of needing extra pants. Woohoo!
