Couch to 5k is a great app that eases you into running a 5k. I have used that and Zombie 5k which works on the same principle.
Congrats on getting to your goal weight. My journey has just started. 3 wks post op.

Sending positive vibes to your daughter, this is a terrible thing that has happened. I had mine outpatient along with many others and didn't have any problems. I wouldn't blame it on being outpatient. I will say everyone I seen that was outpatient wasn't extremely heavy. Plus they do a leak check while you're still under.

Try Vitamin Water zero or anything with stevia. Apple juice is still high in sugar.hi guys , my surgery date was 11/18/16 i was at 243 and as of 2 days ago (i weigh myself on Mondays) i was down to 210 , i don't feel any different then before surgery as per the energy i have always been a sleepy head lol but i am still experiencing pain on my left side and i am having trouble intaking all the fluids i should be , as many of you i was a Water drinker and now i just can't stand it, today i went and bought some "no sugar added" 100% apple juice to see if maybe that will help i am also in the process of transitioning from puréed to soft foods but i have noticed i get very gassy with every change, i know it will get better for all of us and we will be very happy with our journey

I think it gets better. I was really bad the first week no matter how small I sipped. Now I am almost 3 weeks and the burps aren't so bad. So I am assuming it will keep getting better as you heal.

How is everyone doing? I just had my 2 wk post op appointment, although I am on day 18 but I was cleared to go to the gym. So I super excited to finally workout with some weights. Nothing to hard obviously! I am down 28 lbs total and -18 since surgery. So I am super pumped! ????

I think it depends on how big of a hernia. I had a small hiatal hernia. My pain was gone by day 4 but I did take a ppi. Every once in a while (twice so far) I get a dull pain in my shoulder while I lay down but it quickly goes away. I am now 12 days post op.

Try nectar, Quest or Orgain Organic plant Protein. They don't have that chalk taste. nectar and Quest doesn't have that nasty whey Protein taste. Also with Nectar I can use Water and it still has a nice light taste. Also heard Vega is very good too. Also I use almond milk or coconut milk.
I Am only 10 days post op but I can't tolerate anything too thick.

Nope, my surgeon has a supposed lawsuit by someone who is on here. But I have met way too many people including some of his staff that had him do their surgery. He and his partner did mine and I had no problems. I felt good enough to go back to work by day 4. So no, if it isn't many I wouldn't worry.

What kind of Protein Shakes are you drinking? There are so many good kinds with different taste, plant and whey, then there are tons of flavors to try.

I had Dr Apel too! They all are amazing and I love the staff. I am 12 days post op.Blossom Bariatrics! They are amazing. Dr Apel did my surgery and their insurance support staff are amazing. From my initial appointment to my surgery date was 4.5 weeks. I am so thankful
I found them. I originally went to Dr. Hanna and switched. Best decision I could have made.

So, I am only 8 days post-op and before I felt motived to get all my fluids and Protein (although I still haven't fully met my goal with water). I think this was mainly from all the stomach acid my stomach was still producing. So, on days 5 and 6 I took a PPI to stop the stomach pain at night. Now, I don't know what it is but I don't feel like eating (drinking) anything including Water. Part of me is tired of how much effort it takes to even finish 12 oz and now I am not hungry. I am afraid when I go back to work on Monday, I will forget to drink anything.
Has anyone dealt with this and what was your solution?
I am just frustrated with my mental state because I know it isn't healthy to not take anything in.

If it is gas discomfort, walk, walk, and even when you are tired walk some more. Pain meds will not get rid of the discomfort.

Some people get a drain in their incision. I didn't have one but I was also outpatient.

You might want to talk to your surgeon sooner than later. Just to make sure.
What did you put in your fridge? (Groceries for post-op)

All I had for 2 weeks is Protein drinks/shakes and Vitamin Water zero or water. I used to love yogurt and applesauce but it kept getting stuck in my throat and I just dipped the spoon not scooped. So I haven't touched it since. I eventually went to Tomato Soup. But that is it. Everything else I brought including the yogurt, applesauce, and Jello I threw away or gave it away.
