    African American vsgers!

Great I'm scheduled for Dec 13th but tested abnormal for the (H pylori) has anyone experience that before. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App They give you medicine and it clears right up. At least that is what my nurse told me if I would test positive. She said it wasn't a big deal.
  2. I find when I am in a fasting state, I have more energy and slept very little. I use to do juice fast and would be up for no reason. Once you get food and not clear liquids in your belly, you should be about to sleep well again

I hope everything turns out ok. Sending you positive vibes!

    Post-surgery exercise/ 5K

You should be sipping water and protein. I am 3 days post op. Day one was about 4 oz total of everything. Day 2 was better with 6 oz of protein and 6 oz of water. So you will get there as long as you keep trying and being mindful that you need these things.

Losing weight to slow after gastric sleeve?

Maybe you are gaining muscle, while at the same time losing fat.

    Surgery tomorrow at 7 a.m.

Sending positive vibes to everyone having surgery today
  8. My surgery is Friday morning, Nov 25th and I feel like I am on the verge of a panic attack. For whatever reason my fear is to not wake up and it doesn't help when you hear comments like "are you even big enough?" I know they don't understand my struggles with PCOS, my BMI being 41.2 or my pre-hypertension. Part of me is just like why can't I lose weight like a normal person. This fear may be due to the fact that I have never had surgery. Also, my support group is limited. So I really need to read something positive.

Jitters, in need of positive words

Reading the positive words from here, looking at before and after pictures, and remembering that gall bladder and knee surgery has more complications and I know several people who had knee surgery. I can tell you just remain positive. You don't want to go under anesthesia with bad thoughts. So I started to make jokes.

    Surgery tomorrow at 7 a.m.

Sending positive vibes. I just had mine Nov 25th and I don't regret it at all. I could have done without the gas. So my advice is constantly walk even when you are tired but not in pain from the incisions. They even had me walking every 2 hours in the middle of the night. The nurse told me you can't overdo walking. By the time morning came around, I felt 100x better.

  12. Hello, I am 2 days post op and it feels like I have a small lump in my throat when I swallow. I am thinking it is from the hiatal hernia repair but I don't know much about how people feel after that surgery. My hernia wasn't very large but when I inhale deeply I can feel some discomfort. Has anyone had both done, did you have similar symptoms, and did you eventually feel normal again?

    Hiatal hernia and sleeve

Okay, thanks. I just seen you post on another thread. Thank you for responding!

    Sleeve and hiatal hernia

I had the same thing done. I am 2 days post op but I get this weird feeling in my chest when I lay down or eat but it is not a burning sensation. I didn't have reflux before. Is your getting better? I brought some tums and I guess it is working.

    African American vsgers!

Hello everyone I was sleeved this past Friday, Nov 25th. I am glad I found this thread! Still a little hard getting all my fluids and protein in without feeling nauseous.

    No more weight loss

Do you still have your post op instructions? My sister forgot to grab mine yesterday and I am having trouble swallowing my pain med.

    Anyone have Dr. UMBACH

How was your surgery? I will be having mine with Dr Apel Dec 16th. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App Dr. Tom was my surgeon, but to my understanding dr.apell is great to and he is caring him and I have talked several timesDo you still have your post op directions? My sister left mine and I am having trouble keeping my pain med down

    Vomiting

I am only 1 day post op and it happens when I take my pain meds. So I also take my anti nausea/vomiting med and a gas x, and those seem to help tremendously

Jitters, in need of positive words

Thank you again everyone for helping me keep my fear in check. If I didn't they wouldn't have done the surgery. One guy was freaking out saying he doesn't want to die and didn't want to stay. They told him it was okay but they won't do the surgery if he keeps saying that. I am now 1 day post op and although yesterday sucked, I haven't regretted it yet.
  22. Ask your doctor for nausea meds. I felt the same way especially after taking pain meds. Once I took my nausea meds it quickly went away
  23. Hazel_eyez

    Will I go?

Oh, I had that fear and it just kept creeping up. So I asked for positive post here and I kept looking at before and after pictures. I also kept reminding myself knee surgery and gallbladder surgery has more complications and I knew several people who had knee surgery. Also an hour before surgery they gave me percocet and I just didn't care anymore.

    Feeling discouraged

I hope you start feeling better sooner than later

    Feeling discouraged

I just had mine Friday too. Walk, walk, walk, and when you get tired wait a little and walk some more. I have been walking about once an hour and now that it is bedtime, once every 2 hours. I have very little pain now verses early (was almost in tears).
