    Underage (17) and bariatric?

Congrats at making the choice to improve your way of life. I actually know someone that had the surgery at 12 bcuz she was close to the 400's. She is has maintained a healthy weight since. I fully understand not wanting to wait the 6 months. I was feeling the same way. I've done diets and worked out and lost a lot of weihht. But what I found out on this 6 month journey is that I've been learning new things I didn't know before. I think the 6 months is needed so that you can learn all the healthy eating habits and life style changes you will need. Just push your self to do everything you need to get it done. I wish I had the courage to make the choice you are a long time ago. I just finished the apts I am waiting for my final apt before the surgery. I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. And we can exchange ideas. Good luck on your journey you got this.
  2. I believe so. There should be others that don't contain lactose - but with less sugars than the one you chose.Ok thank you for your help. I think need to go to GNC or something for better choices.
  3. Your right it was pretty sweet. It says 8 to 16 grams of sugar depending on how many scopes. I am going to call the weight management center to have them email me some choices me final app isn't till Oct 27th
  4. Does premier protein contain milk? I am lactose intolerant?
  5. Hello I am just curious if this is a ok protein powder choice. Its called not just protein and the flavor is double dutch chocolate.
  6. Ok so I purchased a protein powder called not just protein in double dutch chocolate. I am just curious if this is an ok one to drink.

    Cheated on my pre-op

Make sure u drink tons of water. I've cheated a couple times. I felt so sick after. But drinking water helps no gain from the sodium, sugars etc
  9. I would say call and stay on them.
  10. O and u have to make sure u ha e done all the test required like upper GI things like that
  11. I am doing mine at the same place same insurance and everything. So I have a case worker from apple that tells me what I should do. So once I hit the weight I was told to hit. I called uwwmc and let their case worker know also had them setup my final appt which the long where u meet the time make ur choice of the type of surgery. Which is on Oct 27. But what I did to make the process got faster is I had my nut send the uwwmc the referral that shows I completed the nut appts. That made it go quicker once u do that and had ur pre op appt the uwwmc will contact the insurance company to get ur final approval. So I was would say just be on the have ur nutritionists send ur records off contact uw and the insurance company it should all be setup from there good luck keep us updated. I can give u any info u need as well.

    United Healthcare

I am not sure I have the same insurance company. I live n Washington state and they require 2 appts a month. It doesn't matter how spread out they are as long as its 2 so I had to do a total of 12 appts so 2 every month for 6 mos.
  13. Hello, I am lactose intolerant what is a good premade shake I can buy that won't mess my tummy up?

    4, 3, 2, 1

I know this is probably a bad suggestion but worked for me. I drank at least a gallon a day ur body will make that Water weight run right out of you. I also did all liquids like 100 calorie Soups, sugar free Jello and applesauce and kept my calories at or below 1000 calories I lost 10 lbs in about 5 or 6 days the olnt thing is u have to maintain the weight till sugery so keeping it low carb, low sugar, low sodium lots of Protein is what you would want to stick 2 I also used my fitness pal to help me keep track of everything.

I just moved from that area my aunt had her surgery at st Francis as well. I am glad your doing good any tips u can give me on anything they Dont tell you at the dr Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App That's a good question. One thing I've learned from these online support groups is each Dr varies in instructions on eating and care after surgery. Follow those steps for introducing various levels of food to the letter, if you can, so your tummy can heal properly and to lessen any discomfort you might have. You have to figure out a routine to get the Water, Protein and Vitamins in. I feel lucky that I have had no vomiting or pain issues. My endocrinologist told me a week ago that I am no longer diabetic, and the 2 meds I was on for that have been gone since day before surgery. Off of one BP med, two more to go. My energy level is great. I am walking for exercise right now due to some arthritis issues but will soon be hitting the gym, my energy level is great. I don't know if it was me you asked about results so far but I don't mind sharing, lol, we are all in this together.I weighed 310 at my first consult in May, SW. 285 CW 258. WL 52 So I lost 25 prior to surgery and 27 since, not a superstar amount like some, but similar to most in a support group I'm in for August sleevers. I'm happy with it and the health improvements. The hospital part goes fast and before you know it you are home learning to take care of your new tummy. Take the instruction about lifting seriously, been hearing some bad results when people didn't, like bleeding from seemingly healed incisions. Boy I don't know if any of my info is helpful, but if you have any questions that I can help with, ask. Not medical expertise type stuff! More like, she's just been thru it, she'll know, type stuff. Thats where I'm having mine I have my last apt on Oct 26 to meet with the surgery team and whomever else to set the date. How r u doing so far? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App I live in kent wa as well! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App ih Sent from my iPad using the https://siteowners.tapatalk.com/byo/displayAndDownloadByoApp?rid=87332'>BariatricPal[/url] App[/urI Sent from my KFMEWI using the BariatricPal App Great advice I will make sure I follow the instructions to the T I don't do well with pain so I will do everything I can. I think you results are great sometimes its not good to loose weight to fast for certain ppl maybe loosing weight slower can help u no have a bunch of loose skin. Thank you for you help and keep up the good work! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
