I am almost 7 weeks post op and I have lost 27 lbs. Rejoice!!! I'm ready for my next 27 lbs to leave!

Luckily (or unluckily) I had tons of jeans from going up and down through the years. I had sizes ranging from 10-22. Most of which were only worn a few times since I switched. I am not buying any new jeans until I am at my goal. Most of the shirts I had got thrown away though, so I have been buying some. What I have been doing is, every month I go out to target and buy their shirts that are 3 for 24$. they are plain but they come in nice colors and really show off my shape well. I also have bought some at old navy, because they usually have shirts for 5-10$.
If you can, wear leggings - they'll fit for SIZES. I am still wearing the same ones I had on when I was a size 22, and I am a 14 now.

One that reads I lost pounds!! Lol. Weight watchers I use.

So, I've reached week 6 post op. Husband and I decided last night to grill a steak. I chose a very lean NY strip and trimmed all the fat.
I have NOT had red meat since just before pre-op diet started back in September. Cooked it rare (overdone meats don't go down well for me).

I thought I had died and went straight to heaven. I took very small bites. And could eat only 2.5 oz. It was so delicious!! I felt like my body must have been craving it, because while eating and after I had zero discomfort and actually felt really good physically.
I am not an advocate for eating lots of red meat. I prefer fish and chicken and even tofu. But sweet Jesus. The steak was just about better than, well you know...
Told my husband we should fire up that grill even couple weeks!!!
Edited to add; Please don't try steak until you are cleared by your team! I was cleared to give it a try.

I've run into some negative people and the way I see it, those people have their own reasons for it and maybe they wish they had the courage to go through what you have decided to do and take charge of your life. @@Kitty2272 It's very normal to be hungry - you are eating far less than usual. Stick with it - it gets better. Can you have broth or sugar free popsicles? How about Powerade Zero? The headaches will go away in next day or two. It's really worth the effort - you'll do much better post-op. Take it one hour at a time. I enjoyed broth during mine. Hang in there!

Okay, here it is. The less people you tell YOUR a business the less negativity you will encounter. You reap what you sow. My husband and I told no one and we have no one who knows our business. How easy is that!? Good luck!!!!

My surgery is November 4th, and 4 days after my wedding. My status with my insurance company is still pending, but the center I'm going to for my surgery said not to worry since they're out of network. (but I'm paying in network prices)

I had my sleeve done on Thursday!!! I am feeling better day by day.... I can tell you, walking is a major key... you have to walk to get that gas out!!!! other then that.... it was not as bad as I thought... a little uncomfortable but very manageable... Good Luck to those still waiting to get sleeved!!

I just called the insurance lady and she said I was right. I most I ever have to pay is $6000. And I've already paid about $1600. She apologized and said it was her mistake. So better, but still a lot of money. Which I expected.

I started the group , you just have to do a search for November 2016 sleevers and it will come up, request to join and I will approve. Now we have a place just for those of us going in November, and we can flow each other

@@ella37, I think it's normal to be scared! I was too. But the funny thing is, once I was wheeled into the OR, I was out within a minute! Next thng I knew, I was awake and it was over! Just consider the operation an hour nap! :-D

SHOPPING! (And enjoying it. And not for jewelry and shoes - because they don't depend on my size.)
