The nurse at my registration told me to prepare to be nauseous. When I wake up, when I get up, when I lay down, when I move...nausea. I went in expecting it...and my recovery was a breeze aside from gas pains! You can do this!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Jesus loves you!!!

I'm not sure if I had a Lovenox shot before surgery or during, but definitely had one the day after. It is to prevent blood clots. It didn't even hurt. They give it in your stomach. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Jesus loves you!!!

I don't think so. We had surgery same day and I had a rough few days after coming home but now I feel pretty good. What are you eating/drinking? A body at rest stays at rest. Maybe start walking every day, start small work your way up. I do tire quickly but recoup fast. Good luck and fast healing! I am one week and two days out. I agree completely with what @@lowbmi65 said. The recovery has not been near what I thought it would be. Monday was six days out and I went to my sons last Jr high football game. I'm still a bit sore, but more like muscle soreness. Rocking out the puréed foods. Day 5 post op: Still a little gas pain. Getting in about 3/4 of my fluids. This gets better everyday. My surgeon leaves a drain in. Mine comes out Monday. (Yay) This is a safety precaution for leaks. As far as incision pain, I have very little. I would be up and going way more if it weren't for the drain. I've had some coughing which is horrible. But surviving well! No regrets so far! I think it's normal... all we are ingesting is liquid, so seems that would be all we are putting out @@SAL421 @@lowbmi65 This is what I'm hoping! I finally ate some cream of chicken Soup today... Walking....@Color83...mine was the 4th and today is the first day I have felt remotely human. Still have a pocket of gas, but I've been up and about and it's getting better. Struggling to get liquids in... but doing way better today than yesterday And yesterday was better than the day before. I'm not hungry. Not interested in food. Taking it easy, reading my book and watching movies. I did heat up lunch for my boys, microwave food, nothing major! You will get through it. It feels really awkward and was super nervous when i had to cough. I didn't get sutures, I have surgical glue on my incisions, so I was petrified. Me too! So scary!
