  1. @@Dub Your thankful post gave me goosebumps, in a good way! Wonderful post.
  2. Absolutely what LxA said "you'll have to confront your dysfunctional relationship with food and it will be a break up. Eventually the head hunger moves on". I second that!
  3. Have you called your surgeon to rule out a stricture?
  4. Getting close to Thanksgiving, always gets me feeling grateful for what I have. Thought we could post what we are feeling thankful for currently! For me when things get rough, I like to look back and remember what there is to be happy about. So here's mine as of today: My husband. What a rock..funny, supportive, smart, sexy, and genuinely the nicest person I've ever met. I do not know how in the heck I got so lucky. My pets. The most unconditional bundles of love I've ever experienced. They are very much my "kids"! My parents. Always there for me, wonderful people all the way through. My daughter. Brilliant, compassionate with a heart of gold. She's had my heart completely since she's been born. Love her so much. Health. Getting healthier and feeling better every day. 6 weeks post-op, starting to physically feel WELL, which is awesome. My job. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree this year and I finally work in my field of passion: art and design. Finally working with professional, considerate people for the first time ever. Location. Living in there Southwest. Sun all the time. Love it.. Cooking. Learning new healthy recipes is so fun! Autumn. Favorite season. Exciting possibility for next year: Husband and I are thinking about going to Ireland next spring!! Alway wanted to go. hair. I got a cut that I really like. I'm appreciating it before it starts falling out!
  5. Ad Populum demerit! LMAO (wink wink )
  6. Tpoor25, Thank you for coming back and sharing your success..you look so fit and healthy! Really awesome. I am truly inspired! (6 weeks post op here).
  7. I dreamed of eating juicy burgers while on my pre-op diet. Last night, 6 weeks post op, I dreamed of being chased and stalked by Michael Myers. I hid in a dryer. Been having more nightmares since losing weight.

OK I should have taken a picture, I forgot! Tonight I grilled Greek chicken Kabobs. (Kebobs kotópoulo). The marinade was so tasty- yogurt, lemon, balsamic, rosemary, oregano, feta, and white wine. I also marinated olives, bell pepper, mushrooms and onion, and added them to the chicken skewers. I made a Greek dipping sauce with yogurt, lemon, dill, diced onion, fresh thyme, and a pinch off garlic, olive oil and salt. A bit of fresh black pepper on top. The kids loved them too, they had white rice with them, I just had half a kebob. Delish!
  9. I have only begun my journey, but have dropped from a size 20 to a 14. In the grocery store yesterday, two different men began small talk with me. It's been years... It got me wondering. I don't know if the new attention is because I look a little better, or perhaps because I feel better about myself and I'm no longer avoiding eye contact. Maybe both.
  10. I'm going out of town and will have TG dinner with my daughter and friends. I plan of having a couple oz. of dark meat turkey and maybe dabble in the gravy . Maybe a teaspoon of cranberry (yum), and a bit of veggies. Can't wait! I love Thanksgiving! I'm thinking about bringing some sparking apple cider- is that loaded in sugar?? I'll skip it if it is.
  11. My face, boobs (down two bra sizes) and waist/belly. Legs and hips, not so much, yet. (visualize a pear, lol).
  12. Simply amazing..you look fantastic! Congratulations on your success and hard work. May I ask how tall you are? Blown away....great job!

  14. Great post @@Lema I haven't even tried fast food (greasy burger fast food), and I hope that I can remain the way I am now, not wanting it. Fast food burgers were always my nemesis. I was literally addicted. It was an emotional fix for me. I always felt comforted eating it. The sleeve is my shield against those feelings. hoping to have kicked that habit forever.
  15. @@Heather I I bet your lack of sex drive is due to self protection in this way: You are hurt (very understandably!) by his comments. You internally realize that he is hurtful. You are bettering yourself both physically and emotionally and so your body shuts off the most intimate thing you can do to connect with him- sex. I was in a bad relationship about 6 years ago with a man who started making negative comments to me. My sex drive towards him shut down and never returned.
  16. I appreciate your post. Its nice to read how those with experience have leaner and overcome the mental games that our old selves manipulated us with. Thanks for an inspirational post!
  17. I appreciate your post- someone who has the ability to eat bad but your sleeve and a year out has mentally trained you not to even want to go there. You give me a lot of hope and encouragement!
  18. Oh I loved the Pancake house! Its funny (yet tragic) how we used to validate our eating isn't it? It was always validated by the old me by pitying myself and saying that I was stressed, tired etc. Now I realize that by indulging in that bad food to wasn't actually rewarding, it was punishing. Just as you said, I love how the sleeve allows for the best decision making.
  19. Goal: 188 Current: 201 Today is 11/14 Thanks!!!
  20. I'm kind off the opposite- I loved coffee pre surgery, now I kinda like it but not nearly s much. I love tea now!! Also, I used to be a huge lover of red wine. I took a sip the other day and didn't like it. Cant believe that!
  21. Yeah, the sardine thing is a bit strange, lol! But quite protein packed so whose to judge! Sardine kale Egg Bake. I am sure its better than it sounds!
  22. I have been looking for new ways to spice up cottage cheese. I like it now just as before surgery, but it can get boring!
