The leave paperwork if you're using short-term disability for FMLA it requires the reason. Yes it's completed by the doctor submitted to your work.

If I choose not to tell anyone at work is there any way they can find out from my health insurance (that they pay for ) what I had done ? My plan is just to take a leave of absence .
HR will know due paperwork explaining the leave but it should stop there.

I don't want to run out and spend a lot on clothing until I reach goal weight. The goodwill and thrift stores in my area are lackluster . Since am a stay at home mom I don't need anything dressy except for church . Any ideas?
I was think about maybe Sams club? I have a Target near by but the plus size section is nonexistent .
What did you do ?

The weight loss is fantastic! Ulcer is so painful. It's probably pretty scary to have one in a pouch and not know why, huh? Like how do I prevent another one. Impressed that the surgeon could make a second pouch!
Glad you're on the mend!
Yes!! I was lucky that my first pouch was 6 millimeters (I think) leaving room for the revision. I didn't participate in any normal ulcer causing issues like caffeine, smoking, soda, alcohol and so forth.

Hi There
I am four years out from my surgery this July and I am 99% sure that I have developed a stomach ulcer. I will be visiting my doc next week for further tests, but I was wondering if anyone else has developed this problem as a long term complication and if so, what was the outcome?
Thanks! :-)
I didn't get an ulcer long term but at 2 months post rny I developed an ulcer for no known reason. I was on ppi. They tried max carafate for 6 weeks to resolve without success. I ended up having to have a bypass revision basically having rny all over again at 4 months out to remove the ulcer and make a new pouch.tough times but I am doing very well now. I am 2 months post op of my second rny now. I am 100 pounds down.

Hey guys I'm about 5 weeks out from surgery and I'm trying to get things prepared. My flight is just over 6 hours (3 hours from San Diego to Seattle with a 40 min layover and then a 2 1/2 flight from Seattle to Alaska).Do I need to arrange a wheelchair to get me around the airport? I don't want one if I don't need it and want to walk as much as I can but I don't know what to expect after surgery (I'll be flying home post op day 3).
Also should I bring single serve Protein packets to sip on the flights? If so how many would you recommend bringing? I should probably get some Protein in that 6 hours but I don't know if I should just bring one packet for the entire flight and that will be enough to last since I won't be taking in much or bring more than one.
Any other suggestions or tips? I originally had a window seat but from reading it sounds like an aisle seat is best so I changed my seats, is this best?
Absolutely get a wheelchair, you will be on all liquids and have no energy. As for eating you won't really be hungry at that point. I'd say plan for Water and 1% milk (both you can get at the airport). Plan to have your Protein before and after. Just my opinion. Keep it simple.

Yes. But I did keep one pair of my biggest pants. Never forget from whence I came!
I did the same. I kept my joggers that I wore to the hospital on surgery day.

You can do it!!
Wow. How far I've come! I am down 90 pounds and a size small!!! I remember looking at this post and your progress and hoping to see the same and I do.

I am experiencing a very shap pain in the lower left side of my stomach. Does anyone have any experience with this at all?
Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
I had the same. That is the area that has the most trauma during surgery. It takes a little while longer to heal than other sites. Hang in there.

I'm new here so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong area! I am having gastric bypass surgery in a few days. I'm in the process of planning a cruise for this summer (about 3-4 months after surgery). I have concerns and am not sure if taking a cruise so close to surgery is a good idea. Does anyone have experience with traveling/cruising 3-4 months after surgery? How was your eating by then? Were there any activities that you were limited with at this point in recovery?
Also, I haven't flown on an airplane in a few years due to my size (5'6 and 397 lbs). Any input on how much I can expect to lose 3-4 months post surgery? Will the airplane situation be okay? I know a lot of my questions are dependent on the specific person, but any thoughts/suggestions/previous experience would be greatly appreciated!
At three months post rny I had lost almost 40 pounds. Four months more than 50.
I started lower (244). Down 70 since surgery now (5 months).
I didn't cruise but I did travel. I just took backup Protein (shakes) just in case. I was more than ready by then.
Good luck!

I am over 2 weeks post op and down over 25lbs. The past 2 days I have been getting very lightheaded as I stand up. it gets to the point on 2 occasions I had to sit back down. Anyone have this issue and should I be concerned? Im getting plenty of fluids. Could this simply be from the rapid weight loss?
Are you on blood pressure meds?

I felt the same way until day 15 or the third week. Once I introduced pureed foods I had a lot more energy! Hang in there!!

Thanks unfortunately I'm 1 month -post op my tummy doesn't need any issues [emoji20] hope it's not that bad
I'm so sorry!! Ask for anti nausea meds on anything that can help!

The only thing i'll add is that I was surprised at all the support I got when i chose to tell people. I expected judgement and all I have gotten is tremendous support.
But that was my decision and the decision to share or not is very personal and only you know what's right for you. -
Just came from the surgeon asked him about my pathology reports & im positive for H-pylori ?? Antibiotics for 3 weeks any others ??
I was h-pylori positive when they did my pre op endo. The antibiotics made me so sick and made my tummy hurt. Good luck. I found nothing helped. Maybe someone else in this group die [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120]
Good luck!

I haven't seen my surgeon yet I see him next week for my 2 week visit
My diet didn't change until after my 2 week check up. I'm guessing your dr will let you know at your 2 week appt.

Hi, I'm 7 days post op and I am having a really hard time tolerating the premier Protein premade drinks. They are so gross & Too sweet for me. I also think they are irritating my stomach. I wake up every morning with lose bowels. I know, I'm sorry TMI, but I didn't know who to ask?
. Can anyone recommend another way to get my Protein in besides the doctor approved protein yogurts? Maybe some that aren't so sweet, or clear ones, or lactose free ones that are clear? Thank you in advance
I had a similar problem post op. Didn't mind the shakes before surgery but after they make me wanna vomit. My go to is 8-10 oz milk plus a scoop of GENEPRO flavorless protein (30 grams of protein). Mix and serve. -

That's awesome! Idk why my surgeon won't approve them [emoji848] does yours say they're fine?
Yes. He didn't have any experience with them but with my labs looking good and me having no issues he is fine with them. -
I didn't have a 6 month weigh in. That sounds like something your specific insurance has. If they have a 6 month weigh in I'm guessing it's required.
Good luck!!girlkell reacted to this -
