    Nausea Help!

So I had a gastric sleeve in September 2016 because of fertility related issues. Good news: IT WORKED. I got pregnant on the first try when my surgeon cleared me. My problem now is I am nauseous. I have been sipping on ginger tea's which help somewhat, but not a lot. I was wondering if there was anything else that you guys could suggest? My sis-in-law suggested the preggo drops but I noticed they're pure sugar, and I'd rather not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I broke the 100 lb mark last month and seeing my before and after is insane! The before was 5-4-15, my wedding day and about 3 months before I started my weight loss journey. The after was taken last month and is 8 months post surgery (9-14-16). Only 50 more to go!

    My before and curent

I do walking on the weekends and strength exercises at home. Prior to February I was walking a lot more but then I ended up sick and am trying to get the routine back now that I'm not. My biggest tips are walking, prioritize protein, drink water, and watch your portions. It still takes me 4 or 5 hours to eat two eggs scrambled with turkey bacon. I had no idea how big US portion sizes were!

    Thanksgiving

Okay so bird day is coming up and I'm the cook. (Hosting some current and former Army friends). Now I'm obviously gonna make the traditional stuff for them, but I obviously can't eat the dressing or a lot of the other stuff. So what do y'all do for turkey day for yourselves? Eat only the turkey? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

5 Weeks post op incision bleeding

Oh! I forgot to update it went well She said I over exerted and that there wasn't anything that she saw that was bad. She put some steristrips on and told me to keep the area clean and to stop trying to be a wonder woman Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

5 Weeks post op incision bleeding

It's light and liquidy and there's something almost pus like about it too. Surgeons not in today (his day to do surgeries) so they suggested my PCP to make sure no infection. ???????????? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Financial Assistance

I work in a hospital doing patient access, usually we don't offer people with insurance discounts. It's idiotic. They *WILL* however help you set up payment arrangements. Call the hospitals main admissions and ask to speak to a financial counselor, they can usually help you with a lot including fighting your insurance, payment arrangements and everything else. Constipation

Okay time to be gross. I've had a couple small bowel movements since the surgery on 9/14. But as of today it's been 6 days with only tiny little bits coming out. I have tried milk of magnesia, a glycerin suppository, miralax and a mineral oil enema. My last resort before going to the ER (I'm hesitant because I work there and I don't want my friends pulling poop out of me) is to get some magnesium citrate and some gloves. Do we think this will help? I'm going insane. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Bubbly tummy

So I've been on solids since Thursday and everytime I take a bite of *anything* my stomach starts bubbling and air starts coming up and getting stuck so I can't burp. Any advice? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    4 week postop!

I am down a total of 31 lbs from when I started. I'm a little dehydrated but he said I'm on par with his other sleeve patients and to just keep trying and doing my best. I was cleared for solids and I celebrated with like...4 bites of grilled chicken and mushrooms. I am so glad I'm past that hump! Protein frustration

I'm almost a month postop and still have trouble with Protein shakes. Premier and isopure both made me throw up. I gave up focusing on protein and tried to focus on getting hydrated. Which I'm still struggling with by the way. Though I got 50 oz in today so....I'm doing better, somewhat. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Chick pea pasta

So, we went shopping today since I hit solids at the end of the week and my husband has to lose weight as well, and I found Banza chickpea Pasta. Has anyone tried it? I bought a box for my husband to try because it's packed with Protein. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    I'm a mess!

Surgery was 9/14 for my sleeve. Everything has went okay except for Protein and meeting 64 oz of Water a day but surgeons office said to just keep trying as best I can and that I'll get there. My problem is I'm just a depressed mess. I have a history of depression and anxiety and have crushable/disolvable pills but nothing is helping. I'm having momentary regret. I'm aware this will be worth it in the end but right now I just want it over. I can't stop crying at random times. I miss intimacy with my husband. I miss food. I miss coffee. I just need some encouragement please that this will be done soon and I will be back to a better life than I had before. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Chugging water

I miss it. I really really do. This constant sipping drives me insane and I can't keep up with my fluids. I wish I could use a straw! Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  23. So I am a 31 year old woman from Texas who has been overweight since day 1. I came from a family of large people and diabetics. My mother is the only one who was thin in the family and boy did she hate me. I was raised by my grandmother who did what she could on limited income. food for us was usually fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, or some other unhealthy concoction. Not to mention sweets everywhere! And the woman was a diabetic. My mother would berate me for my weight and at the same time never encourage me to do sports and would always give me treats as rewards for good behavior, grades or because I was sad. By the time I hit middle school I was probably in the 170 range and high school I tipped it at 220. I was a little active in the marching band, but, poor food still. Now don't get me wrong, I struggled with body image but by the time I had three failed diet/exercise routines I was 27 and I began to actually accept that I was bigger. I loved my body for what it was and continued to try and walk or do light weight stuff when I could until I got very bad anxiety. I ballooned from 250 to 300 on my wedding day (May the 4th 2015) in that time period. I was still happy with myself until my periods quit coming. I got a new PCP who I love. She didn't point to weight for my non weight related problems like I'd had in the past. (For real I had a doctor tell me I got a sinus infection cause I was over weight. ). She worked with me for 4 months before bringing up surgery to help me lose weight to get my fertility back. So, after allllllllllll of that I got sleeved on 9/14 of this year, just in time for Rosh Hashanah. I know I'm still feeling a bit under but I have faith by at the best, Passover, I'll be feeling great. Shanah Tovah indeed! So that's my story. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

    Chugging water

I just want to be able to take large drinks of Water. I go back to work in 1 week and I work in an environment where it gets fast paced quick. So I worry I won't be able to keep up with the constant sips. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
  25. Yes. ladies, please don't do that! There are good men out there! My husband is absolutely amazing with support. Never left the hospital, even though my mom and dad offered him multiple breaks where they'd stay with me. Walked with me in the halls. Even turned on the heated seat before I got taken down to the car to help relax the pain. (On low, we are in NC where it's still hot as heck). I keep worrying about spending money. You all know this journey isn't cheap. We bought a new blender yesterday and I almost died, but he tells me over and over his top 2 priorities are my health and happiness. I am extremely extremely blessed. But my reason for sharing is there ARE men like this that are real. Don't settle for anything less. You deserve the best person who is out there for you. My Dad always said a marriage isn't 50/50. It's 100/100 and both people give 100% of what they have to give. He swears it's the secret to success. Anyway. Loopy, you are 110% correct. My husband is being the exact same way. He stayed at the hospital all 3 days, only leaving when I asked him for a change of clothes and to get himself something eat. He slept in my room with me and I'm sure the nurses loved him because he had them show him how to put on my compression leggings and get me in and out of bed so I didn't have to bother them constantly. He has been my savior thru this whole thing. All women (AND MEN!) deserve a partner like this! Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
