  1. So I had a gastric sleeve in September 2016 because of fertility related issues. Good news: IT WORKED. I got pregnant on the first try when my surgeon cleared me. My problem now is I am nauseous. I have been sipping on ginger tea's which help somewhat, but not a lot. I was wondering if there was anything else that you guys could suggest? My sis-in-law suggested the preggo drops but I noticed they're pure sugar, and I'd rather not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Wow! Congratulations, you look great. You're surgery was just about the same time as mine. You have hit 100 I'm stuck at 51. Do you have any tips you can share with me? what is your diet like? how many Proteins versus carbs? also, do you exercise a lot and drink a lot of Water? thanks in advance for your help keep up the good work And please share any tips with me that you can

I do walking on the weekends and strength exercises at home. Prior to February I was walking a lot more but then I ended up sick and am trying to get the routine back now that I'm not.

My biggest tips are walking, prioritize Protein, drink water, and watch your portions. It still takes me 4 or 5 hours to eat two eggs scrambled with turkey bacon. I had no idea how big US portion sizes were!

  3. Okay so bird day is coming up and I'm the cook. (Hosting some current and former Army friends). Now I'm obviously gonna make the traditional stuff for them, but I obviously can't eat the dressing or a lot of the other stuff. So what do y'all do for turkey day for yourselves? Eat only the turkey?

  4. I work in a hospital doing patient access, usually we don't offer people with insurance discounts. It's idiotic. They *WILL* however help you set up payment arrangements. Call the hospitals main admissions and ask to speak to a financial counselor, they can usually help you with a lot including fighting your insurance, payment arrangements and everything else.

    Don't give up hope!

  5. I am down a total of 31 lbs from when I started. I'm a little dehydrated but he said I'm on par with his other sleeve patients and to just keep trying and doing my best. I was cleared for solids and I celebrated with like...4 bites of grilled chicken and mushrooms. I am so glad I'm past that hump!

  6. My weakness is Mexican food. I live in San Antonio so I'm surrounded by it. By the end of the weak I should be back to actual food and was looking for healthy suggestions.

  7. So many posts here, about unsupportive significant others. Just watched My 600 lb. life. Zsalynn is doing great. She went for weight training with a trainer. Her SO said if you want to break a sweat grab the vacuum cleaner. I wanted to go through the tv. She is trying so hard, and her young child (and his), yells why did you marry him mommy!? Zsalynn said because I wouldn't have you.

I have made terrible choices in my life, I guess this is why it bothers me so. Sort of like the first husband of 20 years dropping me at the hospital to have two different surgeries. He is history but I still wonder why I settled for such crap. The first surgery was a kidney stone when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant, and nearly died.

Please, strong women, never ever let a man treat you like this.

Yes. ladies, please don't do that! There are good men out there! My husband is absolutely amazing with support. Never left the hospital, even though my mom and dad offered him multiple breaks where they'd stay with me. Walked with me in the halls. Even turned on the heated seat before I got taken down to the car to help relax the pain. (On low, we are in NC where it's still hot as heck).

I keep worrying about spending money. You all know this journey isn't cheap. We bought a new blender yesterday and I almost died, but he tells me over and over his top 2 priorities are my health and happiness. I am extremely extremely blessed. But my reason for sharing is there ARE men like this that are real. Don't settle for anything less. You deserve the best person who is out there for you.

My Dad always said a marriage isn't 50/50. It's 100/100 and both people give 100% of what they have to give. He swears it's the secret to success.

Anyway. Loopy, you are 110% correct.

My husband is being the exact same way. He stayed at the hospital all 3 days, only leaving when I asked him for a change of clothes and to get himself something eat. He slept in my room with me and I'm sure the nurses loved him because he had them show him how to put on my compression leggings and get me in and out of bed so I didn't have to bother them constantly.

He has been my savior thru this whole thing. All women (AND MEN!) deserve a partner like this!
