    Slow weight loss?

Good goal. I can't help but respond. It does blow my mind though. I understand the "here is what I'm losing, is it typical?" question. But the "I'm so upset that I'm only losing 22lbs a month what should I be doing?" or "do I need a pouch reset 2 months post op because I've only lost 36lbs? Makes me shake my head in wonder. There are clearly doctors out there doing no education...like none.
  2. 203.4 today. In here to keep motivated and on track. My goal for the end of the next 12 weeks is 18lbs. So 185 lbs.
  3. Happy new year! Am now within 4lbs of reaching onederland! Spent the morning trying on old clothes,

    Resolutions for the New Year

Onederland by my birthday (feb 4). Goal by summer. But my real resolution is to continue to stick to plan. Everything else will happen as it happens.
  5. Agreed at purees not likely a worry.
  6. I'm 3 months out and I still get irritation of my scar above my belly button. It was the last to heal and tends to be the one that clothe rub against or I lean on or something.

    My immediate post-op experience

Wow, Sorry you went through this. I just shows that everyone's experience is different. Some people will have a lot of pain, others not. I was lucky. I've had 5 surgeries (knee acl reconstruction, lap band, c section, breast reduction, rny) -and have to say my rny was the best recovery. Didn't need meds after day 1. But pain was terrible right out of surgery until I got the meds. I glad you are starting to feel better!
  8. I wouldn't worry about scars in the long term. My lap band was 2005. I needed to hunt to find those scars. Yet my rny scars looks so obvious and angry. I know they will fade in time

    My taste buds have changed

For the first time ever I have found that. At 3 months out I'm loving blueberries, I've never liked blueberries. Now I could eat them all day long.
  10. Sounds good to me. I'm 3 months and get 700-900/day. If you reduce you could put yourself in starvation mode. So I would keep what you're doing your weight loss is amazing. I'm down 55. Trying to to keep my calories over 850. As much as I can
  11. Depends. My nut had us doing purée/soft food. So in mine, yes it was fine

    Weight Gain

I weigh once a day in he morning when I get up...naked. It is the best and most consistent time to weigh yourself. You will gain food and Water weight throughout the day. So it is pointless to weigh yourself at different times throughout the day. Also please don't set yourself up to expect a 1-2lb drop per day. That will stop and you'll go into a set of stairs style weight loss mode. I had a 1'week stall (I don't consider a plateau less than 7 days a stall) at 3 weeks and another two week one at 9 weeks.
  13. My instruction at that phase was 1/2 cup portions. I measure everything still. Others may have been given instructions on smaller portions (1/4 cup). I still measure and weigh everything now. I suggest getting a good little food scale, it helps with tracking everything. I weigh and measure my food and use small tupperware to portion it out.

    Not losing

It definitely gets better when you can eat real regular food. I made a lot of soups in the purée stage. Good luck!
  15. Nope that is normal. You won't feel real restriction until solids. Believe me. I had a hard boiled egg early in my solids phase and omg didnt do that again for a while!
  16. I suggest you check out dr. Matthew Weiners videos on YouTube. He has a lot of information on a variety of topics including rates of weight loss. I lost about 16lbs month one, 14 month 2 so you are losing quickly. Why do you think you should be dumping? Are you eating foods off plan? I still have not tried high sugar/ carb foods so don't know if they would make me dump. But drinking my shake too quickly has.

Did You Get Holiday Food Gifts This Year?

Tons! chocolate (not a big fan anyways so no biggie). Worthless candies, and my mother-in-law left a giant bin of Cookies. Cookies got tossed. Chocolates I gave to my mother in law to take into work today. There was a fruit cake (which I love). It was a nice home made one that I couldn't bring myself to toss so I froze that.

    Not losing

I don't change anything, the stall will eventually end. How long have you stalled for? I don't consider it a stall unless I haven't lost in 7 days. From your stats it looks like you've lost 33lbs in 3 weeks!? So unless you lost the 33 in the first 2 weeks you are probably not in a stall. I think I was down about 12lbs at three weeks in and then I had a 7 day stall during which I gained a lb. Celebrate your progress. I wish I lost that fast . I'm 3 months in and just finished my most recent stall which was 10 days and involved gaining a lb before I dropped again. Ps. The stalls are when you lose inches.
  20. Yep I was banded in 2005. Revised this year

    Dumping syndrome?

The hot sweats aren't a party either...
  22. that is our heads messing with us. I joke with my husband that I've always had body dysmorphia at my high weights. I see myself 50lbs thinner in the mirror because i was always so shocked to see myself in photos. I'm glad I had before photos because I'm so dissapointed in how I look in pictures now. but when i compare the two...big difference. Thank goodness for pictures!

    C section / RNY comparison?

I'm with VInasu. My c-section was infinitely worse..but i was in labor for 18 hours beforehand. my RNY was way easier than I thought. I was up walking same day. got up and walked through the first night. didn't need pain meds after the first day and asked to be discharged a day early (they wouldn't). Hardest thing post op was really the fatigue due to low calories. but my Vitamin Patches helped. I went apple picking on day 5. no way I could have done that post c-section.

    Help! I m so tensed

that is great progress. I was down 6.3kilos at that point. I'm at almost the 3 month mark and am down 25 kilos. Never in a million years would I describe that as slow weight loss. You need to relax your expectations a little or you are going to lose it when you hit a stall or gain a kilo (which I've done in two of my stalls since starting). it is all part of the process.
