    From start to finish

18 months from first visit to surgery. It took about a year to get the prerequisites taken care of. It took an additional 6 months to switch surgeons and get ins approval. We switched surgeons because my original surgeon, who was assigned based on coverage and location, had a $2500 lifestyle management fee that was not covered by insurance and was required to be paid in full prior to scheduling the surgery. The Dr in San Jose was just as highly recommend/regarded and only charged $300. That also includes food for the 2 week liquid diet. For my husband it took 21 months. We decided I would go first and didn't submit his insurance approval request until after my surgery. It took almost 3 months of fighting to get an approval. HW 385 SW 359 CW 305 Sleeved 10/5/16

    Noosa yogurt?

I typically eat the oikios triple zero. Every once in a while (like today) I have a Noosa and add in some GENEPRO. How much depends on what flavor (pumpkin covers the taste of a full serving). HW 385 SW 359 CW 305 Sleeved 10/5/16

    3 month surgeaversery!

I am 10/5. How are you doing? Sent from my XT1021 using the BariatricPal App I'm doing great! I actuality had a pretty smooth recovery. Haven't started working out yet. I know once i do I'll start losing more weight. Have you started exercising yet? I suffer from chronic pain. And chronic laziness lol. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App Not yet. I was released for exercise at 8 weeks. I have been waiting my company to set up a corporate rate at the local gym but that doesn't seem to be happening. I am going to set up my own plan. The gym has several Water Zumba classes in the evenings so I am going to try those. I got swim capris so people can be spared my glaring white fat and I am spared the chub rub. HELP! Freaking out - need honest feedback

I did the same thing. Lol. I was hitting the button every 8 min or whenever I remembered it was there. I don't remember most of that day, but I was feeling fiiiiiiiiine. The next day I had 2 doses of vicoden only. Third day had no pain but took a loading dose of vicoden to get in front of any pain caused by the 3 hour drive home. There was a woman i was talking with who was sleeved the same day and time as me who had a really hard time with gas and pain. I think we are two examples of extremes. Even if you have a hard time with gas pains, it's a short term issue. The weight loss and health benefits are worth it. Sent from my XT1021 using the BariatricPal App

HELP! Freaking out - need honest feedback

I had no gas pains at all Sent from my XT1021 using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had a model surgery. No pain meds after the 3rd day (and that was just a dose of vicoden to make the 3 hour drive easier). No gas issues or problems sleeping. Very little nausea and not one episode of vomiting. I can tolerate most foods. The only real negative reaction was to pickles. The juice from one bite (I spit it out) caused nausea for hours. 8. Is this even possible? For the past couple of days I have been feeling a knawing gurgling feeling that I would have classified as hunger before surgery. Could it be hunger returning? I know that acid is sometimes confused with hunger but I haven't had a prob with acid since week 3. I have been sick for the past week, not sure if that has anything to do with it Sent from my XT1021 using the BariatricPal App

    Meeting Goals

My stomach starts to gurgle (sounds like a hungry gurgle) when I am getting full. I get one, maybe two bites after that. Anything more and it's uncomfortable. Sent from my XT1021 using the BariatricPal App

    Stopping Hydroclorothiazide and weight GAIN

Consider asking your doctor about Furosemide. It also treats Fluid retention , better than Hydrochlorothiazide generally , but doesn't do as much for blood pressure. I took Hydrochlorothiazide for peripheral edema for like 4 years and it stopped working for me. It also gave me gout. But my doctor switched me to Furosemide and it really helps with the fluid retention. At least for 2 years for me. My body adapts to Water pills and requires higher doses.
