I can’t drink the premier shakes at all anymore. All whey Protein Shakes are giving me the runs. I get it I’ve had issues with milk in the past but nothing like this. I had surgery 12/27 and a few issues with my throat and ears hurting but that’s getting better. I’m having a hard time with the smell of some Protein shakes and I just keep tossing them. Water and broth are my besties. On 01/01/2019 at 14:27, Jeelena2019 said:
Ever since my sleeve I noticed that my taste buds are over sensitive. Example I opened a Premier shake and drank half, put it back in refrigerator, after several hours i went back to drink the remainder and I couldn’t it picked up all the scents and flavors of other items in the refrigerator. I thought it was just the shake but today I noticed I had a partially opened bottle of Water and I am experiencing the same issue. I had to throw both out. Anyone else had this happen to them? -

Jeannine - I spoke with my surgeon and he confirmed everything you said as what may be going on. I feel a lot better now that I got the chloraseptic spray and some cold medicine. On 12/29/2018 at 19:20, Jean9 said:
That's not good! Maybe it's from the tube being down your throat for surgery. My lip is still numb so that's weird lol. Or you could have a cold too. My mouth was so dry for a couple of days but is good now. I want to start eating something more but dont know when I can do that.

My first post op visit is one week after surgery. I need to call because they do have 24H service and someone could call me back. My doctor’s paperwork they gave me want us to continue postop visits up to 5 years after surgery. On 12/29/2018 at 23:28, sisternewt@yahoo.com said:
Jaadan79. I know all drs are different. Just reading these threads and reading when people are eating the different stages is SO different from what my dr says.
That being said, have you called your dr about your throat? My dr only wants his office to see his patients the first 4-6 weeks. (With a visit to pcp) -
Thanks for the support Jeannine!!On 12/29/2018 at 19:30, Jean9 said:

That’s what I think caused it because my throat was fine before the tube. I’m going to the urgent care tomorrow. It’s really bad. My ears hurt too!!On 12/29/2018 at 19:20, Jean9 said:

I was sleeved on dec 27. My throat hurts like hell and any Protein now that I’m home burns going down. The back of my throat is swollen. I’m going to the urgent care tomorrow. Any ideas of what I can do?

My paperwork says no crackers and that’s even after a month. I only like matzo crackers and buy them during Passover even though I’m not Jewish but nope no crackers here probably not until 2+ months out.On 12/28/2018 at 20:32, AggiG said:

My only regret 1 day post op is that the gas is too bad and nothing seems to be working. Otherwise I feel pretty damn good!On 02/28/2018 at 10:37, JustinH said:
Does anyone regret having this surgery? Be honest, if so and why? Just want to know what others are going through before I commit.

I’m really struggling today I’m 7 days post op and today I feel weak tired I don’t want to drink or eat anything. I know I have but just not feeling great today. -
Ok. I just needed some ideas. My surgery is tomorrow. I have issues with the premier making my throat hurt some. At first I didn’t know what was causing it but I think I’m allergic to something in it. Once I’m about 3 to 4 weeks out I know I’m gonna need some other options. On 12/26/2018 at 21:49, ColeSimone said: -
Your doc is trying to get you to use their in house brand they are working with. Mine uses Celebrate. I’m glad you mentioned Unjury because I was considering trying it.On 12/16/2018 at 08:42, Prpchub88 said:
I have not, mainly because my doctor says that I have to use the brand he suggested until two weeks after surgery. Im using Unjury.

They say you shouldn’t lay down for about 2 hours after eating. I believe that rule applies for ppl that didn’t have WLS

I feel it’s my journey, my life. We’ve tried to do things to lose weight and studies prove long term most are not able to keep it off for good. I commend those that have been able to do it. I also commend those of us taking this route because the surgery alone doesn’t make you successful. It’s still a long term battle because we still have the same brains we started with and to be honest most ppl overeat regardless of their size. We are doing what’s best for us and you don’t have to like it but we’re not asking you to either. Be happy with your decision. December 27th for me!!! I’ve gone through the steps 3 times and I’ve finally decided I’ve had enough and need some assistance.

Good luck!! You got this!!
