Wow! I’m afraid to do anything sparkling or with bubbles. My doc and nutritionist are against it. Lol!

Ms. Stacy - my doc and nutritionist wouldn’t allow that for me either. I had my surgery on Dec 27 and I’m totally afraid to try sparkling anything. I just started drinking Decaf coffee and not every day because I’m afraid.

Ever since my sleeve I noticed that my taste buds are over sensitive. Example I opened a Premier shake and drank half, put it back in refrigerator, after several hours i went back to drink the remainder and I couldn’t it picked up all the scents and flavors of other items in the refrigerator. I thought it was just the shake but today I noticed I had a partially opened bottle of Water and I am experiencing the same issue. I had to throw both out. Anyone else had this happen to them?
I can’t drink the premier shakes at all anymore. All whey Protein Shakes are giving me the runs. I get it I’ve had issues with milk in the past but nothing like this. I had surgery 12/27 and a few issues with my throat and ears hurting but that’s getting better. I’m having a hard time with the smell of some Protein shakes and I just keep tossing them. Water and broth are my besties.

That's not good! Maybe it's from the tube being down your throat for surgery. My lip is still numb so that's weird lol. Or you could have a cold too. My mouth was so dry for a couple of days but is good now. I want to start eating something more but dont know when I can do that.

Jeannine - I spoke with my surgeon and he confirmed everything you said as what may be going on. I feel a lot better now that I got the chloraseptic spray and some cold medicine.

    Thank you again!!

Jaadan79. I know all drs are different. Just reading these threads and reading when people are eating the different stages is SO different from what my dr says.

That being said, have you called your dr about your throat? My dr only wants his office to see his patients the first 4-6 weeks. (With a visit to pcp)
My first post op visit is one week after surgery. I need to call because they do have 24H service and someone could call me back. My doctor’s paperwork they gave me want us to continue postop visits up to 5 years after surgery.

That’s what I think caused it because my throat was fine before the tube. I’m going to the urgent care tomorrow. It’s really bad. My ears hurt too!!

I emailed my PA to find out if I can eat Ritz. I love Ritz.

My paperwork says no crackers and that’s even after a month. I only like matzo crackers and buy them during Passover even though I’m not Jewish but nope no crackers here probably not until 2+ months out.

Does anyone regret having this surgery? Be honest, if so and why? Just want to know what others are going through before I commit.

My only regret 1 day post op is that the gas is too bad and nothing seems to be working. Otherwise I feel pretty damn good!

Soups, mashed potatoes, yogurt, blended fruits yay! I can have my green smoothies again. Along with my shakes. My dr says 6 4oz meals per day but that’s not easy because I also have to get in my Vitamins and 64oz of Water. I’m usually full after a few sips of anything.
Ok. I just needed some ideas. My surgery is tomorrow. I have issues with the premier making my throat hurt some. At first I didn’t know what was causing it but I think I’m allergic to something in it. Once I’m about 3 to 4 weeks out I know I’m gonna need some other options.

  10. I feel it’s my journey, my life. We’ve tried to do things to lose weight and studies prove long term most are not able to keep it off for good. I commend those that have been able to do it. I also commend those of us taking this route because the surgery alone doesn’t make you successful. It’s still a long term battle because we still have the same brains we started with and to be honest most ppl overeat regardless of their size. We are doing what’s best for us and you don’t have to like it but we’re not asking you to either. Be happy with your decision. December 27th for me!!! I’ve gone through the steps 3 times and I’ve finally decided I’ve had enough and need some assistance.
