If your aunt was mine, I'd tell her to suck my chubby butt, but I'm like that, you know? And you're not ALONE, you've got me!!! Excited yet?!?!
"Foood funerals" aren't BAD, I simply chose not to have one. I don't build memories around FOOOD -- that thought process seems sort of bizarre to me. I choose to build memories around friends and family and events.
I figured I'd eaten my way to 264 pounds and had more than my share of foood. I didn't care to gain more only to have to turn around and lose it, but I was also so sick of myself, I was in that mindset when I set my surgical date.
I am three years out and I can eat anything I want. Oddly (happily?), I no longer WANT. It's fabulous.
Vent away. You're going to be fine.

Made the baked ricotta recipe in a cupcake pan. Ate one without pineapple, went down fine. I did however take my time eating it. So not sure if it was the lack of pineapple or the time. But the good news is I really like the recipe! Tasty!!

I'm so glad I found the rant and raves section of this forum. I hope to be able to post my own rant or rave eventually.

They don't have "sizes" of sleeves. It's all in relation to your body. The surgeon works with the anesthesiologist to pass a small tube into your tummy, and that is what sizes your sleeve. The surgeon staples as close as possible to the tube. I'd go to a reputable gastric surgeon. I can't believe a pediatrician did this at such a young age. Please consult a bariatric expert.
    Best of luck!

Agreed. There were some comments to me 2 or 3 days out of surgery when I asked about not feeling well and it was "get your protein!!" I was a little upset at the tone, obviously I'm trying and drinking Protein shakes, not Coke. But in the end, it's true. I need more Protein. Tough love

Hmm. Interesting. I got Lactaid brand milk, didn't even think about dairy being in pudding. Maybe when I try again in a few days I'll make it from a box with lactaid milk. Thanks!

Just keep doing your program. I'm sure you went with a successful surgeon. From what I've noticed, my surgeon is stricter than most, but only 1 failed outcome. His entire staff is former wls patients except my nut. The nurse, the nurse assistant, the PA, the psych eval therapist. All went through wls. So, I trust he's learned and this is the best plan. I don't get on the scale outside of appointments. I'm personally focusing on getting in enough liquid, then Protein. Everyone's focus should be different, all of our bodies are different. And 60+ pounds is awesome!!!
    Keep on keepin on

I agree - I needed the kick in the ass for another Protein Shake. I ask advice for help and other experiences, not coddling. I can call my Mommy for that (but that'd get me an ass whopping over the phone haha!)

It frustrates me to no end, I followed my preop diet perfectly. Went off my celebrex, did all the shakes and broth/soup. Have not cheated at all post op (I'm human so I'm sure that will change at some point). And I am having a horrible time of things! But these people eating tacos and pork chops and God knows what else are fine! Talk about frustrating!!!!
My husband has even committed enough that he eats his meals at work so not to tempt me. He has his popsicle for dessert at home (his are fudgesicles though) and on the weekend sticks to food I don't like.
Our family went to therapy together to make sure our whole household was ready. It was a lot of work. But here are some folks, willy nilly doing whatever. Ughhhhhhh!

Hi ladies (and men, if so inclined)
Just wanted to share something that's really helped me. I've felt pretty sick, tough recovery so far. Each night, I've been digging out something to pamper myself. You know, that stuff we buy, use once and then put on a shelf never to be seen again?
Well, I busted it out. I've been doing face masks, sugar scrubs, lip scrubs, etc. It really has helped mentally. Bonus, all that stuff doesn't go to waste!
Just wanted to share - I may feel like s**t but my skin looks good!
Also, I tried to put this in the "powder room" forum and it wouldn't let me?

I'd like to throw in my two cents also and say that I too owe a lot to @@LipstickLady for my success so far. I mean, why wouldn't I listen to the advice of someone who lost all their weight AND has managed to keep it off? I would have been crazy not to!
Oh, and she's actually a pretty nice person, too. I know that's hard for some people to believe.
