  1. I'm day 11 out - I think I've maybe turned the corner? I still am struggling with Fluid and Protein but I don't feel like a big pile of dog sh*t. Just a small one
  2. Thanks. I get to move to full liquids which includes greek yogurt which I have always loved. Hopefully it helps with protein too.
  3. Yes, it's so nice. I do have a breakout on my cheek, very unusual for me... usually I just have a ruddy complexion. I think it's the detox of the bad crap I've been putting in my body for years.
  4. My plan also doesn't allow bread until week 8 and then only in moderation. 4 weeks out I'm on pureed.
  5. With a different surgery, something similar. Make sure you wash your sheets (I change mine every other day) and wear clean t-shirts and/or pjs. I have a clean set for the day and a clean set for each night until my incisions are healed. Normally I'm a wear your jeans twice kind of girl, but with open wounds be extra extra careful. I also keep a clean, new Dial soap. Good luck with it!
  6. Haha I don't think anyone minds I know you've got to love having that spa. Oh that would be awesome!!! Jelly Beans over here. Love it!
  7. Does that not make you feel ill? I've tried that and my tummy was MAD. How far out are you? I'm also struggling with protein, and liquids in general.
  8. Hopefully it gets easier with time. I will add my surgeon checked me earlier this week so I know it's not an emergency situation. Best of luck
  9. Wow!! I don't see how you got it down. I'm 5wks postop and still on liquids Sent from my KFJWI using the BariatricPal App I think that's gonna be me, don't worry. You aren't alone.I have a stricture. I was on liquids/puree' until month three. YOU WILL LIVE. It sucks, but it is worth it.Sucks about the stricture big time sucks. My surgeon did a swallow test before we could leave the hospital so fingers crossed I'm good there - probably me overthinking but just wanted to see if anyone smarter than me had a genius Protein idea. I saw Jello on unjurys site - when I pick it up Monday, I think I will make some. At least I'm not eating filet mignon and going "but I was hungry!!!!!"
  10. Yes, I experienced the same thing. I'm waffling about going in for fluids. Day 9 of it. But you should let your surgeon know. Did you have a swallow test done?

  12. Thanks. I unfortunately have 15 pills to take which has to be priority 1. It's made water/protein intake a challenge (you'd think I'd get enough in swallowing them, but no). I'm going to order chicken soup. I liked the Optifast chicken soup. Amazon pulls up protie diet soupd too. Has anyone tried it?
  13. Hello again! I'm here with my 999th question. Anyone use alternative Protein sources? Capsules, or something? I've just been put on whole liquids from clear. So far, a bit of blended up cream of mushroom. I have several protein shakes - Optifast and Quest in many flavors. It all tastes like fake sugar and as much as I try (I carry the thing around all day) ... I'm not getting protein. Maybe 10g - I know it's mot enough. I also am struggling severly with water/liquid. Not for lack of trying but I'm open to any and all help. I'm 9 days post sleeve, warm liquid does best. Thinking about powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury soup? Or if anyone has recipes? I'm in a vicious cycle and I know I'm making myself sicker. Thanks!
  14. What I would give for a chicken nugget - got to have Protein in it right? I can't get any of that in. A few won't hurt. Oh right - I don't want my stomach to literally pop open!
  15. Im a big fan of pedicures, especially for us big folk who cant really reach down well for toe maintenance. I even had my husband come with me and get one as part of our "epic date weekend" in April. I am getting my hair recolored, eye brows waxed, my nails done (gel polish) and a pedicure the weekend before my surgery. I figure I should look as good as possible for the "before" pics... plus I prob wont be up for it for several of weeks after. Fun!!! I just returned from my mani/pedi. I so wish my husband would get his toes done. I'm regretting my decision to go out in the heat now though. Keep wondering if this is my new life. At least I'm have nice nails.

  17. I'm using some lemon my sister made. She made us all Mason jars full of it for Christmas. Finally getting some use!! When I'm tolerating smell better/less nauseous I'm going to try the coffee. Thanks for the tip ????
  18. I also like full body sugar/salt scrubs. They're sosososososo good. Also, I've read they help with excess skin. Who knows if it's true, but can't hurt!
  19. Allie - I'm not sure if you can get your med count down, but I'd try to either A - eliminate meds B - smaller pills (i.e. 1 40mg tablet changed to 2 20mgs) C - see if liquid or dissolving forms are available D - make sure you bring them to the hospital I have struggled big time with my 15 (about 18 with pain meds and anti nausea). I wish I'd known beforw that it'd be such an issue. Best of luck!
  20. I'm just catching this thread and I'm going to say something right here. I abhor the use of the word "slutty" when referring to a woman's appearance (or behavior). The fact that other females "liked" this post is seriously appalling. A woman has every right to wear what she wants without being subjected to such a horrible characterization. The words sl*t and wh0re are as degrading as the "c" word and shame on anyone who supports the use of them. I agree with the non-use of those words. Just to be clear, my like was for the vision of a woman's breast as a plumber's crack - in my mind, it was something Simpsons-cartoon esque, complete with the plain white t and all. I'd never fat or s-shame a woman.
  21. Props to you for wearing actual clothes ... I've been wearing pjs and yoga pants haha! Must go to the store today and back to work Tuesday, so have to face real pants soon.
  22. I've had no trouble with a bra - incisions are lower. Large incision on left probably dead between belly button and breast, it's the highest one. I recommend yoga pants with the flip down band - only flip it up. Covers up to about bra line. Old Navy has some I like. For reference, I am tall 5'10 so may be more compact for others. Used the same yoga pant method when had gall bladder removal last year and incisions were totally different locations.
  23. Sleeved 9/15 - I've had a harder recovery than some, I believe because I have to take 15 pills a day. It's hard but can be done. Most of mine are mental health meds, I advise not skipping them. I had applesauce approved 5 days out to help with taking them. I'm not 100% at all - hoping moving to full liquids over the weekend will help. 1 day at a time!
  24. I manage to get 15 pills down a day. It sucks but I can do it.
