    Protein Sample Menu

Okay - so I really can't do Protein shakes. As soon as they hit, the come right back up. I've tried 6 brands and endless flavors. What are your guys' days look like with *only* protein from food? Female, VSG, 7 weeks post op. SW 310. CW 264.

    September 2016 Post VSG Updates

This is exactly where I am! 310 HW, 300 SW, 246ish CW. Sleeved 9/15. I'm really good with fluids not as good with protein. SO frustrated with the scale doing the +2 -3 +1 -1 thing. 246ish has been the same since before Christmas. I think I'm losing inches but not sure. Is such a long stall normal? It feels like it can't be.
  3. Okay - is this really just "embrace the stall"?? HW 310 SW 300 CW 244 I've weighed in around 244 for the past 2 months. Yes. 8 weeks. My surgery was 9/15 so what gives?? A 2 month stall at the 3rd month? I know stalls happen, but this one doesn't seem normal. I get my Vitamins, Protein, plenty of Water. I weight train and do cardio. I'm so confused and even more frustrated!!! Has anyone else even heard of a stall so soon after surgery?!

    WEIGHTLOSS STALLS?!

I'm 4 months out, but have been stalled since 3 months. So basically over a month sitting at the same weight. It is really quite frustrating, and honestly depressing. I know stalls are normal but this is like the stall from hell and so early out.
  6. I did Surgery in September and haven't lost any weight in 6 weeks. I totally get it. Idk what the deal is but it is frustrating!!!!

    6 week stall

I don't measure (i know, bad me) but my clothes get looser and looser so I'm pretty sure I am. I'll break out the tape measure - I have one from sewing that will do just fine. Just so frustrating!!! Thanks for your responses ????
  8. Hello BP friends, I've been more of a lurker than poster lately, seems there aren't enough hours in the day. But I nees your help! I've hit a serious stall. Not for a few weeks - since before Christmas. I had my surgery 9/15 and have lost 55 pounds which I'm thrilled with. But seems like since mid December my body has slammed the breaks. Any thoughts? I get my protein/water in and eat 900-1000 calories a day. TIA!!!

    6 week stall

How frustrating that must be! Are you still measuring your food and tracking your macros? Perhaps your carbs and/or sugar intake is more than you realize (I know this could easily happen to me). Do you do any strength training? Yes, everything goes into MFP. I am strength training with my husband (Navy). And I'm pretty sure I'm getting smaller. But the scale just will not move!

    I totally understand!

    6 week stall

Yes. It fluctuates a pound or so either direction but stuck at 245. 4 month stall? I know 3 week stall is common.

    North Carolina

I went to State too -- back in the late 90s ... now live in Cary. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App At least neither one of you went to Chapel Hill. That would be bad . Sent from Larry's S7 Yes it would be!!!!

    New food ideas..

I eat the reduced fat wheat thins. I just count out a half serving, which is 8 crackers. Then put the box back. Hasn't set me back any, and are allowed by nut.

I'm from Charlotte. Went to State. Mom lives in Wilmington. Now I live by Lake Norman. Have a vacation home in Hendersonville. Any questions on NC I sure hope I'd be able to help haha

Grazing and how to end it?!

I'm also a "grazer" in the sense that I eat 6 meals. Sometimes 7. But each meal would be someone else's small snack. It works for me and is really the only way I get my protein in.

    New food ideas..

P3 packs. I'm sure you've heard greek yogurt. Cottage cheese and fresh fruit. I'll do peanut butter and celery too, but use real peanut butter (just peanuts and salt, no filler). String cheese.

Perfect pants for women after surgery!

Wow. I buy all my stuff from LuLaRoe and it does work magically at fitting no matter what size. But sounds like your options are more cost effective!
  19. I don't think depression/anxiety can go away with WLS. You might feel better because you can get out more, do more, be more confident vs. letting the depression win and stay in bed all day. But cure, I don't think so. Note - this is my personal opinion, I am in no way affiliated with any medical field. I've worked with a therapist about 4 years now. I'm 27 - found out right before I turned 22 my Mom had terminal cancer and the depression/anxiety tendencies I already had reared their ugly heads. I manage it now. I do have xanax for emergencies, but I can almost always control is - it took a LONG time to get here. So my best advice is to find a therapist (took me 4 tries to find someone that "got it"). I take daily meds for depression as well. A combo of meds and therapy works best for me. Good luck. Panic attacks are very scary. Try counting to 10, backwards and forwards. Breathe in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4. There are other CBT things you can look at online.

    Need Drink Ideas

Diet cranberry lemonade from Ocean Spray. Idk why but I can drink about double what I was before I tried it. Bought 6 at target this weekend.

    Mashed potatoes? Carbs?

I ate potatoes with unflavored Protein powder and cheese on puree/soft foods. However, I did make them myself. I'd caution going back to Churches chicken or most fast food places. God only knows whats in that gravy.

    I NEED a cracker!

Ice or popsicle. You don't NEED the cracker. You can also chew gum - that gets mixed reviews so I'd check with your NUT.

    Dumping

Why were you taking vicodin? It can make a lot of people very hot and sweat for a period of time. My husband gets those symptoms with it.

It might be a fine line...

Okay you've already seen mine but here's some more since they're my pride and joy (and flipping cute)! They are miniature pinscher twins we adopted at 6 weeks who have never been apart. Reese (black) and Rolo (tan).
