Pain is getting better but I was back in the hospital Tuesday as the pain medication wasn't enough. So long story short - IV pain neds, Vitamins & I quids due to dehydration & a UTI on top of it. Today is better except for these hiccups!!! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I am facing the same procedures. Can I ask how the recovery went for you after you came home? I have taken 5 weeks off of work as I anticipate it will be a more difficult recovery. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I don't want to scare you but recovery is not going too well so far. Surgery was a success, Sent home @ 6 PM yesterday. I called Dr. @ 1:30 AM & he said to go back to hospital for IV pain meds. I Checked with RN @ 8:00 AM & she told me same thing. Spouse & I were exhausted so rested and went back to hospital at 2:00 PM today. The pain meds are making me sleep but not controlling pain. Been here all day, they gave me dilaud for pain, fluids & vitamins as I'm dehydrated & now I have a UTI. On the way home now from hospital & have to follow up on Thursday with surgeon. My surgery is Monday, I've done really well with the preoperative diet until today. I need to do clear liquid tomorrow and for the first week. I've tried Isopure, Atkins Lift & I can't stomach the taste. Is there a clear flavorless Protein powder that I can pick up locally to mix in with broths, Water. Jello, etc. that taste decent? I'm taking a month off as I do a lot of driving. But also the recovery is one side of the coin, the food/supplement is the other AND there is A LOT to learn and you also have no idea how your body will react to the foods afterwards. This sounds like a GREAT option, easier to manage than the pills & food combination especially for those of us starting out. My VSG is Monday. I did, I interviewed 3 surgeons, had some GI issues, went back to discuss the Gallbladder removal with sleeve and hernia repair. I took all my records. The only extra had to do was lab work as it had been several months but even then, the labs were minimal. For me it was where I felt the most comfortable. Surgery is Monday!
