I live in Florida. How are you doing? I have lost 16lbs so far and ate mashed potatoes and cottage cheese without issue. I have been taking my 30m daily walks and drinking copious amounts of Water every day. So far every day is better than the previous one. Can't wait to get some variety in my diet!

How is your diet and recovery?

  2. I sometimes wonder the same cuz I wasn't supposed to be able to swallow pills but no problem and though I've been consuming liquids slow no bad effects so I was asking myself that same question! Not that I want to be sick but I do want to restrict food and liquids

i think the pill thing is not about swallowing it is about being able to have them in you long enough to absorb the medicine. I have a BP pill that is repulsive crushed but I force myself to choke it down every morning. So gross though.

  3. I caught a wicked cold. My surgery date is 12/21. I have been doing all kinds of cold meds and Neti pots but today I still feel terrible. If I don't get my surgery on Wednesday it may be postponed until February. That would make this a $5,000 cold (new deductible). Did anyone else have a cold and still get their surgery?

  5. Hello fellow Bypassers. This evening before my VFW Auxiliary Meeting I went to our local Rutter's Convenience Store and got the sugar free French Vanilla cappachino. Figured it would be a win win for me since I am now on puréed and at that point I was hungry. I dumped for the first time today and it sucked! Hot flashes, red face, emergency running to bathroom diarrhea (sorry tmi!) and I even vomited! Did anyone else experience this with sugar free products before?

  6. Are you doing any Protein shakes. I was doing 1/2 premier for breakfast, 1/2 for each snack which gave me a 45 gram start. For lunch and dinner I would add a tablespoon of Protein powder to my Soups to boost. I'm on week five and just getting to 60-70 grams of protein. My dietician acknowledged it is nearly impossible early on to be hitting protein goals. I'm just hitting mine now.

my nutritionist wants me to have 60 grams a day ! i get in maybe 20? i just can't seem to acquire a taste for any that i've tried. they literally make me sick. i'm only a week out, so right now, Water and broth are my go to's.

They are made from collagen, a protein that the human body does not absorb. An expensive waste of money.

really ? when i looked it up, it said that my body absorbs it fully.

  7. I can tolerate the vanilla Premier Protein shakes, but my favorite are the chocolate. I don't do strawberry. I am curious to try the caramel ones I have just heard about.

I saw those at Walmart this week. They were available as singles. I also saw my local target had several smaller packets of powder by the pharmacy. Vegan options mostly.
