  1. I am interested in hearing from people who have had the band for a number of years. This is my question (as I have not had this yet). when I diet, I am successful....and then put the weight back. Does the weight come back with the band? It's as if I just can't believe that this tool will take care of that problem.
  2. Does EVERYONE get some kind of complication? Slippage, reflux, etc.? I have read so many success stories, but is this a surgery in which complications should be expected? And is it worth it? I am trying to learn all I can.....thanks.
  3. So--knowing what you know now, what would you tell someone considering this surgery? (I hope you feel better soon....)
  4. Can you give me examples of dense proteins, please?
  5. Michelle88--I have the same question! I can lose the weight--I've done it before--a few times--and with strong motivation and great intentions! I have even given away my fat clothes--that's how confident I was. My friend tells me that this is different because even if I WANT to eat a lot--I CAN'T--I will get sick! Most of my eating is emotional (anyone have THAT concern??--haha) How will the band help that? I don't mean to play devil's advocate. I am reading so many wonderful stories and I am soooo proud of all of you! I want to be proud of me.....
  6. Such an informative post! I am concerned about the "compliments" after weight loss--I want to say, "I've ALWAYS been beautiful!" (haha--but it hurts that I am not accepted just the way I am). AND--what is pb'ing?
  7. I am just getting started in my Quest to be a member of "The Band." I appreciate everyone's knowledge and encouragement as I read the board. I need your help. My insurance company has said No. My questions are: 1-Did you feel comfortable/safe/understood if you went to Mexico with Dr. Ortiz? 2-What happened if you went home and there was a complication or question--I'd be 3000 miles away from the doctor! 3-What do you do for aftercare (fills, etc.) in the US? Thanks--
