  1. Wow, that's a long post and a lot to think about. You have me thinking about my own patterns and those of my family. food is definitely used to Celebrate and reward. I also will have something special to eat or drink when I'm having a rough day or week. What are your thoughts on what we might do to replace the role of food on these occasions? 2. Go for a walk. Adult coloring book. Netflix. Phone a friend. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
  3. I haven't told anyone outside my support system until today. MISTAKE. I heard all the horror stories about who had and gained it all back and how dangerous it is and lets not forget...you don't need to do something so drastic, just do what I did. So that was my little experiment. Back to the original plan. Tell no one! Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
  4. Doesn't sound promising. I would have a plan B for your support system and someplace to stay if you are living together. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
  5. This is why I'm not telling anyone about my surgery. I'm not ashamed. I know it's the right decision for me. I'm just not interested in other people's opinions about it. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm not planning to tell anyone about my personal medical decisions. It has nothing to do with shame. It has to do with people thinking they have the right to get up in your business and offer unwelcome judgement and advice. No thanks. Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App
  7. Really? Why exactly are you even considering doing this? Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App

  11. Biotin products are very helpful for dry mouth. They have mouth wash, spray, toothpaste and mints. I've had chronic dry mouth for years and I rely on all of them. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs

  15. I'm pre-op and I'm trying to focus on taking small bites and chewing very very well. I think after surgery your tummy is going to tell you, in a not so pleasing way, if you are taking bites that are to large or not well chewed. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs
  16. My son applied for everything he could for 18 months. Hang in there. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs

  18. I'm going with hiatal hernia repair. Easy to explain the change in diet too. Only if I'm pressed, will I use this. I'm not ashamed. I just like to be in control of who knows my medical information. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs
  19. yup. I make the vast majority of my food myself - little to no waste and I control what is in it. before surgery I made up some bone broth and froze it in big ice cube trays, then transferred to zip lock bags. I also made some chili and froze it in wee little containers. even my no sugar applesauce was some that my daughter canned last fall. now I make my own little frozen dinners in wee augratian pans, freeze them and I always have portion right servings to take to eat on my meal break at work. Yes! That's my plan. Thank you. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs
  20. Water, I am pre-op, but my experience has always been that if I don't drink enough water I don't lose no matter how strict I am with my eating. Just a thought. CW 227 5'5" 61yrs
