  1. I also get pain at times if I eat too fast and too big a bite. I have to cut my meat into tiny pieces or I fall back into old habits and cut what used to be a normal sized piece and half chew it and then BAM! I am faced with instant pain. Has anyone had a problem with milk curdling in your pouch? I can't eat breakfast because I am too tight. Today I thought I would have a glass of milk. I warmed it in the microwave first and sipped it. After drinking a small amount I felt a fullness in the pouch. Soon after I brought up curds of the milk. It was gross. I had a hard time getting them down.

I always try to eat small amounts in the AM. sometimes the Protein hot chocolate is good. Goes down with no problem. but I know early in the day many people have issues with being too tight and make morning a soft or liquid meal..

If I get a cup of coffee in, then that "warms" things up and I have no issues

  2. I don't understand this pain....the solid Proteins really get it going about 45 minutes after eating. I have a lot of pain right now. I ate steak for dinner with a little broccoli. I did not overeat. I just dont' get it.

    Christine

I will get pain after eating certain foods: pork chops, steak, dry meats, bread, Pasta, rice. it usually gets stuck and then the sliming begins. The dryer and denser the meat the more trouble I have. depending on how well I chew. Sometimnes only a few bites is all I can eat.

I will have pain almost immediately if I eat wrong. I have never had issues 45 minutes later..

  3. Happy Easter to all!

I am cooking tomorrow, Ham, sweet potato casserole, rolls, veggies. Also cake for dessert. This is my first opportunity to be hostess for the holidays in a long time. I am looking forward to it, and have been cleaning like a crazy woman....

Plastic surgery is in my future. I went and got a quote, so know the $$$ involved. Just have to decide when I will go for it. And my insurance will modst likely pay for a portion of it..

  4. Hi All,

I'm not taking time right now to read everything I have missed - just no time at this minute. We are in Korea and DD's - DGS is adorable, DD is uncomfortable, but glad mom and dad are here. Her friend is headed to hospital right now to have her baby, but DD is still awaiting. Hope all is well with everyone and I will get back later.

It is a very long airplane ride from US to Korea. A missed flight (due to weather issues) made it even longer. Will talk more later.

Glad to hear you are there safe and sound, I know you will enjoy your time there.

  5. Sorry to be absent so long, I had emergency surgery on March 13th for a ruptured appendix and the recovery has been long and slow. My band surgeon did the honors (he also does general surgery). He told me a lap appy usually takes him 20 minutes, mine took three hours to "dig it all out." Followed by massive amounts of antibiotics in and out of the hospital. I asked for and got a hefty unfill at my postop visit as I could barely eat. I still tire very easily and have to be careful not to overdo it.

I can't go back and read all I missed. Has anyone heard from Katydid?

Sorry to hear about your ordeal, very glad to see you are on the mend.

by the way, love your new pic :smile2:

  6. :w00t:Well it's going to be swim suit time again...and I hate it.

I haven't lost anymore weight in almost 18months...there ...I finally admitted it.

I've still lost about 70 from my highest weight but I've just settled in at this weight. I pb with hard protein...then am hungry and eat the wrong thing...I STILL haven't learned to slow down and CHEW CHEW. I guess I'm afraid if I chew things that small I can pack more in.

My problem is my saggy baggy arms!!! I can hide some of my backside with the skirts on my bathing suit but nothing will hide this...YUK:cursing:

Does anyone have a solution in exercise for these bat wings?

The 50 thing and having been fat all my life is the main factor in my skin not shrinking from the previous weight.

I hope everyone is doing much better than I am at this point.

Ok...I got my whining in today..thanks for listening.

I have a friend wqho is taking boxing. It has helped her arms immensely, muscle definition and all. but not too much muscle.. she is so excited to have some solution to her flapping upper arms. I have done some weight lifting and that is starting to help a bit.

I have the biggest issue with my tummy flab. I look like i have 2 stomachs. the lower one that hangs.. and the one around my ribcage. can't wait to get a Tummy Tuck for resolution, I know all the exercise in the world will not be a total solution, but a great help

  7. Hmmmm, agreed SugarBean, I have noticed that a few of us have been much MIA the last few weeks....

    Where are you guys?????

Hopefully everyone is not out celebrating their Bandaversary too much!!! Even though we have all had great success and more to look forward to.

But I agree there have been a few MIA lately.

  8. Scrappy - WTG I also have consulte a plastic surgeon. I want to lose about another 15-20# before I do anything.. Know the cost check with your insurance, sometimes they wil pay for the basic suregery to remove the apron of skin, but a full tumy tuck is more..but if getting any part covered by insurance is a plus

  9. Soooo....am I supposed to be taking a Calcium supplement? I didn't know that! What else? The only thing I am taking (vitamin wise, that is) is Vitamin B12 that melts on my tongue. I am on meds for BP. cholesterol (both of which I hope to stop or reduce soon) and an anti depressant. I guess I feel like I take enuff but if it is necessary...what does everyone else take?

I take Bariatric Advantage by Vitaband. I get it right from my doctor, but you can get it on line. It is a full coverage vitamin. I take it twice a day. It is chewable and come in watermelon or lemon flavor.

I have good restriction and if I make the right choices have no issues. Have to remember to chew and eat slowly.. sometimes an issue. I have always been a "speed" eater. Hard habit to break.

  10. well.....I did it!

I bought my first two piece swimming suit......

    it's 'not bad'.....I won't be stopping traffic.....for good OR for bad...but it's not heinous....and that's okay with me!

wow, a 2 piece bathing suit. can't see that in my future, but WTG..

maybe a tankini.. to cover the rolls in my tummy....no matter what I will ook a heck of alot better in whatever I wear at the pool or beach this Summer.

  11. prior to surgery I occssionally had heartburn but it wasn't anything that was chronic, I did have a small hernia that was repaired at surgery. NO heartburn since surgery until now. I think I irritated my esophagus with it being tight and waited 4 days until I got an unfill. I'm going to try to go on just fluids for a few days and see how that works out. Gosh I have a whole new respect for GERD patients....been taking pepcid with some resolve...

I had severe GERD prior to surgery. Hads a rather large hernia repaired at the time of surgery. I have not taken a Nexium since surgery. Occassionally I have a few reflux issues, but know the trigger.

Hope the few days of liquid help you

  12. I know I can blame no one but myself for my poor food choices. my downfall is chocolate....and now it is Easter time..and we just passed Valentine's Day. I usually do not have any at all in the house, but I have those weaknesses and BAM I go buy it. Also lots of stressat work, lay-offs going on... And I am a stress eater, so that is a big issues for me.

I am going to be extrememly obeservant of what goes into my mouth.. and hope it kicks my head into gear..weekends are also hard to get in all my water..

  13. Flowers & MiMi - motivation. I have slacked on exercixe. gave up the membership at the gym. trying to get out and do more walking since the weather is getting nicer..And my sweet tooth has seemed to have grabbed hold of my body. same few pounds lost and gained..I am doing my best to get back on track and stick with it..
