  1. hope to have a picture soon. i know there is one around here from October. took it when I was starting my journey.

I live with my 2 dogs, Presley and Cobi. My 2 daughters are nearby and are supportive of my choice to have the surgery.

Surgery is 3/19, reporting at 10am. hope to get called to go earlier in the morning...it will be tough waiting the morning....but just anxious to get started..

    :)

  2. just finished life skills on 2/26

at that class you were still finishing up your 12 weeks nutrition classes, right??

maybe we will be roomies at the hospital

i have finished my 10 days with cpapa and can now get the clearance from pulmonology....full speed ahead

    email me at aol lynnt1215

  3. Congratulations, nice to know your surgeon is taking all the precautions he sees fit.

bummer on the sleep apnea. i had my sleep study done in August, before I was considering the lapband. Then I was told, no need for cpap, it is not that bad. the when i went to pulmonologist for clearance they said, you need cpap.. so got it a week ago, and will get my clearance for that on Monday. I will admit, I have slept much better this past week. Si it is helping me sleep more soundly.

  4. Newark, DE

    surgery 3/19 Dr. Wynn

Nice to see some more Delawareans..

I started my journey back in October when I went to my first information seminar with Dr. Wynn. I took alot of soul searching and xonsideration before I decided it was for me. But once I did, I was ready to get it done.

Just had my Pre-op on 3/6 and have the all clear.

there are several support groups in the area. I can get them and post them here

  5. I never thought about the candy or meat thermometer, great idea...

I am afraid to take my measurements, it seems so depressing... but a good idea..to see how far I am going after surgery.

Pictures are always a plus for before and after, i know the weight loss will be seen in my face first , then the boobs...why do the boobs go first LOL

Congrats to all those March Bandsters, and good luck to all of us having the surgery later in the month

  6. This is great. Seems we can all understand the real things in life. what the proper weight is for us. If I were to get to my "ideal" weight I would feel emaciated...I am hoping to get to 150# but am going to be realictic and take my weight loss goals in stages... I am so looking for ward to 3/19. I go for pre-op on Thurs, 3/6 and am trying to eat 2 meals a day as protien drinks. just to get "in the swing" of all that drinking.

Looks like everything is set for my banding party.......

any alternative suggestions for broths or soups... any variety is great.

  7. hope all are doing well.

I will be in overnight and truly looking forward to a night there, just in case of the pain.

I have never heard of the citrate as a prep for surgery either. In the past it was a prep solution for a colonoscopy and I remember the nasty task..I had mine mixed in the ice frost gatorade, seemed to help a "little" bit.

kepp in touch and let us all know how tings are going.:rolleyes2:

  8. how about a nice hot bubble bath, some soft music and candles. that is what i am planning....

Unjury is great and try health-wise, you can get it on line, several fruit flavors as well as a variety of hot chocolate. I used the unflavored unjury powder mixed in a diet cranberry juice. alot of shaking to get it mixed up, but tasted good. I am trying to find a broth that is palitable.

    good luck.

take advantage of someone there to help you out. I will be on my own, except for my daughters calling and coming over now and then. but i prefer to be alone... some TLC is nice, sure wish I had someone special to be with me through this.

  9. March 19th seems to be a popular day!!!! I am surprised so many have a liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery. But there are some great protien drinks out there. I have tried the whey protien powder I found at Wal-MArt. It comes in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. 28 g of Protein and mixed with milk is very good. And if you want Fruit Drinks, try looking on line for Health-Wise products they have some great ones, as well as hot chocolates, cappucino mixes and other things.

getting anxious and a bit nervous, but so looking forward to the 19th.
