  1. I am seriously looking forward to starting tomorrow back on track.....I have found myself doing a bit of the "last supper" crap again today.....stocked up on soy milk and just ordered some more unjury, this few days on liquids will deplete my current supply.

    I'm calling first thing tomorrow for an appointment, too!@!

    2009 is the year I make goal for the first time in my life!

    WOO HOO!

    GOAL, such a nice word. Hope we all can say we have reached our goal in 2009..


  2. let's see, fat face or a few wrinkles... my choice is a few wrinkles. Face as well as thighs, arms.. Luckily my upper arms are not too bad. I am hoping exercise helps out with that. I have a Tummy Tuck planned in my future. but not sure when, need to lose about 25-30 more #. I am jsut so pleased with the results so far.. I smile every time I look in the mirror :thumbup:

    Also, have issues with gas. mostly silent ones..and when I leaast expect it..HELP!!!


  3. SF does help, but there are times it just won't cut it. Have to have the real thing. As much as I try there are times that cravings win out. Werther's makes a chocolate candy that is great, and a few seem to do the trick for me and they are not too bad as calories go either. Give them a try..

    I have stocked my treat jar at work with only SF hard candy. 1 or 2 and I am fine.. But the chocolate pure Protein Bars, Zone perfect bars and the like sure do help a chocohalic like me!!! :tongue2: and I can get in some Protein with about 200 calories and anywhere from 10-18 gms of protein.

    I have even started to add unflavored Unjury to my morning coffee..

    My recent fill on 12/30 was 1 cc, which surprised me, I figured about 0.5cc would be all. Handling it well..MAkes me eat much slower than I have recently and that is a super plus!! Still have to work on the choices. but everyday is a new day and I find new things I enjoy.

    Joining the gym is a PLUS.. It does not seem like a chore to go. I change at work and stop on my way home..they monitor heart rate and BP, a big plus also

    Yes, I agree.. Janet is so very helpful, and truthful in the kindest way, but she sure knows what she is talking about, look how well she has done.. :)


  4. What kind of hot chocolate Protein drink do you have? Is that what you usually have for breakfast and do you try to stick to a low carb diet? Just needing some suggestions to get my weight loss moving. I think that I didn't use my band as simply a tool but thought just reducing my intack would make me lose but it hasn't -- just at first. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  5. I love the Healthwise hot chocolate also, it actually taste better than other hot chocolates I have tasted. Another thing that helps me is the plain chicken bouillon in a cup of hot Water. It gives me a dinner flavor, and it is relaxing to me also. Thanks!

    do you use regular bullion or the Unjury bullion. If possible it is a good way to get in extra Protein using unjury. I found mixing it with regular chicken broth or bullion gave it a better taste than just the plain unjury bullion. same as with the unjury soups.. seem to leave a bit of an aftertaste, but I add to Campbells' low sodium/low fat soups..


  6. All the DR at CHRIAS seem to have a little different plan for how you go from Liquid-pureed-sof-regular. It usually depends on the individual patient, so all you can do is ask Dr. Iragau.

    There are great Protein product out there. Right now I love the Hot Chocolate..so relaxing and soothing. I add unflavored Unjury to coffee, soups..

    liquids are tough to get through, but with determination we have all made it through

    But a frozen coke does sound good..

    I am enjoying my Protein hot chocolate, mm and so soothing.

    New Year and new dedication. I did lose 3# of the 5 I gained from Thanksgiving. Just got another fill..so that should also help.

    Have to do a bit of shopping, my co-workes commented on how loose my clothes are and that made me self-conscious of my appearance. Why not show off the new figure. so off to find some sales..

  9. Hello everyone,

    I was banded on 12/19/08 by Dr. Irgau, and surgery went extremely well. I'm glad to be on the other side continuing the journey. I was on Optifast 10 days prior to surgery, then the 2 days liquids. At this point I am sick of liquids :party:.

    I'm not hungry, but I miss the chewing and flavors from food. I guess this is what they refer to as head hunger.

    I sat at the table for Christmas while my family ate Christmas dinner and I had a Protein Shake :blink:, but I made it through. What has been helping me is making a chicken broth with bouillon, which takes good. And also, I was cutting small pieces of ham chewing the juices out, and spitting out the meat:thumbs_up:. It helps with the need for chewing and satisfies the need for flavor. I am so looking forward to puree days. Has anyone been allowed puree sooner than the 5th week out? My two week appt is Jan. 6th, and I will have to ask Dr. Irgau.

    Oh, by the way I could not figure out how post to this thread without replying. I don't think I did this correctly.

    Congratulations - I was allowed pureed after my 2 week check up, I had my surgery with Dr. Wynn. But even though the DR are in the same office they each do things a bit differently

  10. Lynn! I love how you're rocking your band!

    I'm sorry about Cobi - I hope the vet can help. In any case, he or she will be able to give you a clearer idea of what to do next.

    Fenton - not sure how well I am "rocking my band" will know more after weighing in at DR this afternoon.

    Called the vet and my dog and I will visit the vet this Saturday.


  11. always hungry lately... nothing is satisfyling me. thank goodness I have a DR appt today. and so cold, sweaters, blankets, all the time to keep warm!! I lost my insulation, or deflated it with the weight loss..LOL, but not complaining, feel great and look dam good!!!

    Bad news, my baby, Cobi, 9 1/2 year old cocker spaniel is almost blind... she is stumbling around the house. gong to go to the vet and see what is in her future. It has been a downhill fall for her the past week. :party:

    Need to cheer up and get moving...


  12. Charlene - so sorry for your loss. Prayers are with you and your family.

    It sure has been a tough holiday season for us all. band issues, family losses. Hope we can all Celebrate the New Year and look towards making our lives and the lives of those around us better.

    Dr. Appt today, maybe a little fill,, eating more and havoing no trouble, need a bit more restriction.

  13. Fenton - sorry things did not work out. but better to know early on..

    I have also had "relationship" issues. I guess you wou8ld say. Meeting several on line, then talking on phone, then "dump" they tell me Not into a relationship at his time..so why talk, communitcate and then say, nope. Just say I am not interested!!

    Back to the exercise, eating better and making right/better food choices..


  14. We all made it through the year and the holiday season,. well almost, just a few more days.

    Dr. appointment on Tuesday and will need a slight fill. A few weeks ago felt there was no way I would, but I have been seeing myself taking in more at each sitting...so will ask for .5cc and hope to get it. As well as not much weight loss in the past month or so.

    No plans for New Year's Eve, will be watching my grandson, as my daughter has to work until midnight..bumer, because I actually was asked to join a group of friends for the evening :tongue_smilie:

    I hit the after xmas sales. and am buying clothes smaller than I did in October.. tough on the budget, but with gift cards I am getting new clothes and a size smaller.. I can hardly believe it, I started at a 2X clothes last November..now into medium in my shirts...and 12 in pants NSV

    I am enjoying the gym, Starting out slow and adding a bit more each session. Feels great and vow to go at least 3 X a week if not more..

  15. Made it through the xmas holiday. but still having my sugar cravings UGH!! :)

    Dr. appointment on Tuesday and may need just a touch of a fill .5cc. Seem to be able to each a bit more than a few weeks ago when I was sure I would not need any fill.

    I didn't weigh in Friday, no access to the scale, so will log my post holiday weight after DR on Tuesday..

    Sounds like the holidays were good for everyone.

    Enjoy the time with your new friend, Fenton..A nice way to begin the ew Year..

    I am watching my grandson New Year'sEve, so no partying for me... just as well, too many crazy people out on the roads..:tongue_smilie:
