Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I have heard tht the papaya enzymes can be damaging to the esophogus. figure it is helping "digest" the food that is the issu and may be doing some of the same to normal tissues. Just something I have heard

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Phyl, I grew up in Rochester, NY. Now I go back a few times a year to visit friends. I prefer the warmer weather. Even Delaware is warmer than Rochester. Last time I was in FL was 25 years ago, and I have never been to CA..but really want to get there. Everyone enjoy life

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I have dated a few men since LB surgery. A few know of the surgery. In fact one giy actually went through my recovery with me. Now I have met a great guy. I said nothing about my surgery. He knew I had lost weight, it was a topic of conversaqtion, because of my limited eating choices. When I ad my TT he was there with me. I finally told him of the LB after the TT.. he felt the port under my skin and paniced it was something serious. Now we have discussions on how I chose the procedure, why and how I live with it day to day. I felt no reason to mention it until we got to a point that it was a natural part of a conversation. Whether I should have mentioned it earlier is not to know, but all is well now and he realizes I may not eat the usual meal, but it is what I need to do. If we go out to eat, I will have soup and an appetizer..no questions asked.

UGH!! The Halloween candy has emerged. Always around at work, right there to grab a piece ot two when you walk by...HELP, SELF-CONTROL...I need it bad. Go see surgeon on Friday, may need a tiny little fill. will have to discuss it with her. Just got back from a great mioni-vacation. 2 days of wine tasting, car travel and relaxing..couldn't have been a better way to spend 4 days with that someone special...

I had TT and thigh lift done at the same time. Legs do need revision. Swelling was unbearable for the thighs and the proper contour was not obtained. Finally 8 weeks post-op most swelling is gone. Now revision for thighs is scheduled for 11/24. May need a bit of lipo for the upper abdomen, but will see about that later. I am very happy with the results.

Not sure if I'll need a fill when I see the DR on the 16th. but seem to be able to eat too much at a sitting at times and then other times only 1/4-1/2 cup. Maybe just a small amount, but don't want to be too tight. Since my TT I feel more restriction most of the time, but have those days I could eat non stop... still trying to adjust to everything. happy with my weight loss and comfortable in my body. and have so enjoyed shopping for new clothes for the cooler weather. Enjoy the great outdoors. I love Fall the crisp air and the colors.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Glad I am not the only one with gas issues. It can be so embarassing. they come from no where and I can't stop them..

no charge for any revisions on original procedures. anything for first year is covered with initial request..

The top of my thighs are out of proportion.. because of all the swelling from the TT the D could not get the desired results. so back to cutting. I also have a bit of "bulge" in the upper part of my stomach. I have to address that with the DR. The lower belly is extrememly tight, which is good. but the upper part needs a bit of adjustment, if it can be done.. I find my port is much more noticeable now too..

you made me laugh, but a heating pad works great to alleviate the discomfort of the shoulder gas pain. at least it did for me..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I was alos told no straws. I abided by this early on, but now use straws. I never have had an issues of getting in too much air with the straws. I still have issues with some dense meats..pork, turkey burgers especially.. so I now shy away from them..live and learn what you can and cannot tolerate

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I drink almost all day long. I stop about 30 minutes before I eat and nothing until about 1 hour after I eat, rarely do I drink while eating. I know rule of thumb is no drink while you are eating!

I think the massaging of the scars/incisions is to break down the "hard" tissue,, I am just getting in some walking. with the circumference and muscles.. too much discomfort to do much excessive. I did go bowling the other night and felt pretty good.

I am using a generic brand of Mederma scar cream.. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and am seeing a nice result. if you use it, make sure all incisions are healed, you can't use it on any open wounds/incisions. I am about 7 weeks post PS. still some discomfort..and swelling, but was told that is normal.. swelling can be around for a few more months, at least. I scheduled the revision surgery for my thighs for Nov. 24. Taking a few days off and then back to work..thank godness I have a desk job.. makes going back to work a bit easier. Good luck with your recovery.
