    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

No fill yet, but 6.5 weeks post op. I go to the Dr this coming Friday and hoping for at least a little fill. I find my amounts of food are increasing, unless I am very "srict" with my journal. Still losing about 2# per week, so at a loss of 35# since January 2008. So I cannot complain. I am getting in lots of walking, at least 3 miles 5 times a week. And that makes me feel fantastic. This weekend heading to see my boy friend......yippee :frown: Catch up with everyone when I return

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

sometimes the NSV are better than the SV. At least now I am losing about2# per week, but know it may change anytime. But the change in how my clothes fit and how I feel is a great measurement of this ban helping me to wor for my own improvement of mind, body and lifestyle..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I cannot feel full today. I am so hungry and nothing is satisfying me. I am doing my best to make wise choices to allow me to have that full feeling. Nothing seems to work, even drinking water. In 6 weeks this is a first for me. Did anyone else have this issue?? I will hopefully get a fill on 5/9, but the next week will be torture if I keep wanting to eat. Any suggestions!!!!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Well sais, Fenton There will always be ups and downs. And we will learn to deal with them. I had a great NSV the other day. At the dentist I could never lean over to the "spit" sink and hit it, I usually had most of the yuck on the "bib" they strap around your neck. But this time!!!!! I leaned over and had no problems. I felt like jumping out of the chair with glee  It felt fabulous.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

I am looking forward to my first fill, hopefully 5/9 at my scheduled appt. Today I overate!!! I just wanted to see if what I thought was resriction was in my mind or actually restriction. I ate almost twice what I normally allow myself. Can't say I felt all that bad after eating it either....Guess I am going back to being strict on myself for my amounts I eat and not test my limits again

    Any locals?

So far I have received EOBs from most of the support services with surgery and all the pre op appointments and tests, but nothing from Dr. Wynn's office. I have had to pay about $400 out of pocket so far, but that is coming out of my flex spending. Must be nice to know you had so much covered by your insurance.. How did signing your paperwork go??? Time to celebrate this big event

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

after so many attempts at weight watchers, I know this is my internal motivator. I remember the portion size, good and bad foods, now I can put them to use succesfully...and so far I am exstatic with my results. And moving forward for more of the same, with some ups and downs along the way. The band is my helping hand to success with my weight loss. Along with support from friends, family and everyone here on this thread.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

BeachBum - congratulations, looking forward to chatting with you more. This lapband is the best decision I have made for me in a long time I know my dietician is concerned with a healthy diet. I also follow alot of WW guidelines, I guess so many years of their plan has been imbedded into my brain! I do try for fresh fruit more now and keeoing things balanced.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I saw my dietician today. and got a seal of approval for what I am doing. down another 2.2 # this week :blushing: I asked about carbs, I am so paranoid of having too many. she said a good rule of thumb is carbs can equal 45% of your total calorie intake. I thought that was high, but she says it include, pasta, fruits, sugars basically anything that would have carbs... I am only taking in 800-900 calories, along with my 64+ grams of protein. but that is ok too. Another 3 miles at the mall tonight..and I cut 5 minutes off of last night's hour

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I was walking in the mall last night, 3 miles :coolgleamA: and window shopping as i walked by. I cannot wait to buy fashionable outfits. Looking in Talbots, Cache and Macy's is another incentive to keep up the exercise.. I did notice last night the arm flap beginning. 7 weeks post op, a total of 30# since January and it has begun. I did buy some resisitance bands on Saturday and am gonna use them religiously. I will defeat the arm flap :cool2: I did use my pedometer as I walked.. almost 7000 steps in 1 hour, not too bad. I am wearing at work today to see how much i actually walk during the day!

    Any locals?

from my experience they run pretty much on time. My surgery ran a bit longer due to hernia repair, but i think it was about 90 minutes.. not possitive. I do know I was asked to be there by 10am and they called me a 9am asking where I was... and I even double cheked with Misty the day before. Good luck and let us all know how you make it through..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

WTG everyone on the weight loss. I weigh in tomorrow.. Tulos - Weight Watcher's would have counted for my weight loss if it was documented and was for a period of more than 3 months, and within the past 6 months. It had to be a continual thing, no weeks off....have you double checked with your insurance I had a terrible time with chicken this weekend and have decided to try other foods the next few days. I have had no fills and it seemed odd that after eating chicken before this weekend i would hit a snag with it. At lunch today I wanted to eat so much more than I would allow myself. Hopeing for a fill on 5/9

    Any locals?

Looks like a busy week I hope the rain holds off so we can walk tonight. I liked Paige's idea about going to the mall to walk. Maybe that will be an option for tonight? The rain forecast looks pretty nasty for later today, but then again by 6:30 pm it could be totally different..... Looking forward to tomorrow nights meeting with the Fitness Fair. And Wednesday with Dr. Wynn's forum on struggling with post op. Even though I am almost 7 weeks post op I rhibk it still will be helpful. Lisa - I tries the ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce. Oh my God, it was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. I think I have found my new favorite :wink2: I bought some protein bars yesterday to take into work. I think the crunchy, chewy texture will help any afternoon temptations I seem to get every now and then. Just a little tidbit of info. I am amazed that I only have one bag of trash for a whole week. I am used to at least 3. Less groceries, less garbage..

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

bummer on having to cancel the party. Hope everyone is home by now or at least real soon. I am hoping for a fill 5/9. I find that I can eat more, even though I have a bit od trouble every now and then. I just have to remember to chew, chew, chew........ AS well as eat on a more regular basis. Tuesday I see the dietician to make sure I am eating healthy. Heck, I am eating healthier than I have in about 10 years.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Cathy - All the facts I had on the REALIZE band you have just mentioned. In my DR office therewas a docor who could proctor my doc, but he was out on vacation and the other one in the area was unavailable, I was a bit bummed I was told in preop prep, but still extatic to have the band and be doing as well as i am. I am not sure I would have postponed, even if I had known in advance. PBing - yesterday and today have been troublesome for me. No matter how slow and what quantity of chicken I eat I have had terrible problems. just a few bites and I feel the pain in my chest. I have had chicken for the past week and now this weekend my band is revolting... Gonna try some ricotta with spaghetti sauce for dinner I go to the nutritionist Tuesday to see how I have been doing on my proper diet....I am going to print out a few weeks of my "MyDailyPlate" journal and take that with me. Also, another weigh in when I see her, as well as my personal weekly weigh in at work Tuesday morning.

    Any locals?

three sixty six - glad to hear from you. finals have to be so time consuming. I always hated them and for law school. Not sure I would be handling that, but you hang in there, almost done with the semester. At least you'll have a bit of relaxation time after finals before surgery.... As soon as you are up and around post op, join us for our walks. We are getting to do it on a failry regular basis. Of course the wether can always throw a wrench into that....

    Any locals?

after we walked this morning I stopped at tjhe grocerey store and bought spaghetti sauce and ricotta for my dinner tonight. I have heard you talk about it before, so wanter to give it a try. See anyone who is walking tomorrow night, Monday, at 6:30pm See you there

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Cathy - I was to have the Realize band, but the day i was scheduled for surgery the 2 doctors who were able to proctor were not available. As I lay in pre surgery prep my doctor tells me I can postpone surgery or just have the band that they have been using. I opted for surgery. I was already there and prepped. I would have liked to have the REALIZE band, but was not going to potpone my surgery. Good luck with your surgery. I had done lots of research on the new band and was ready for it. there are so many websites out there to help you get info.
