Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I am also a fan of raw oysters. I tried one awhile back and ended up chewing it, and chewing raw oysters is different. Not sure the old slurp and swallow will work on us bandsters!!!!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

i seem to think in volume, 8 oz. = 1 cup, now as you said a cup of lettuce is much less in weight than mashed potatoes.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

loved the video... but still no Wii fit here for me. but I did go to a water aerobics class last night, "Deep Water Workout". I am feeling it in parts of my body this morning, but will go back for the next class. It was a hoot. And I have also noticed my hait being a bit dryer than before weight loss, but no issues with hair loss.

Congratulations to all in the SV and NSV. The pipe rolling sounds like a riot and some great fun. WTG giving it a try and being successful Shakes. I add frozen fruit to my protien drinks. makes them a bit thicker and adds some flavor. Strawberries to chocolate, mango to vanilla..mmmmmmmmmmmm

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I am still having trouble with slowing down my eating. Especially dinner..when i get home from work I want to eat anything I can find, and when I do fix something I want to inhale it. but my band tells me otherwise.......so trying really hard to remember slow, chew, take my time....tonight I came home and drank a yogurt smoothie to hold my hunger at bay until I was able to fix a proper meal. Think it worked...

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

If you are able to eat 2-3 cups at any meal I would consider a fill. I am always trying to restrict my quantity intake, and my DR said up to 1 cup at a meal was good, even 1.5 cups,, but would indicator of the need for a fill. But as we all know everyone's DR has their own guidelines. I went for my 2nd fill last week and ended up without one :behindsofa: so I am still at 4cc in my 14cc band Since i was still having issues with some types of food, DR said no go. So rescheduled for 7/10. I try hard to keep around 1200-1300 calories a day and my DR has boosted my protein intake up from 64gms to around 85 grams. and that is tough to get in... Only time will tell if I get the fill then. WE all lose at different rates and have different lifestyles, adding to the differences in weight loss .

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

WE all lose at a different rate. And then there is our activity level and what we are putting into our mouths. Stay positive and remeber we all have to learn how to use the tool we have chosen. I feel like I am an addict to working out. If I don't go to the gym or pool everyday, I feel like I am cheating myself. I am letting other things I need to do drop by the wayside so I can exercise...My house is a disaster, I need to mop my floors, clean the bathroom and would rather be out exercising. I think I am going nuts. You never would have seen me near a gym before surgery!!! No Wii for me, but as above I have found alternatives to that. I have an exercise buddy and we keep each other out there. Even though she will not be going tonight I know I will make myself get there and do it!! WE all have to find the best route for us in our eating and exercising and daily life. We can all do it, and remember the those of us here are always open and willing to listen and give our opinions and ideas for help.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Still no Wii, but I still manage to get in my exercise. With all this heat, it was 98 here in Delaware yesterday , getting outside to walk is nearly impossible. but found an alternative.. hed to the pool and tread water. yesterday I did it for 50 minutes and felt great. I could feel the resisitance with the water and felt no pain in my joints. Will be back in the water tonight after work. and trying to get in a few water aerobic classes along the way.. I am looking forward to getting up the stamina to do some laps. It has to be more than 10 years since I even attempted to do that. I am managing still at my first fill. My Dr would not give me a 2nd fill last week. I have trouble with a few foods, chicken is the main issue. So she said no fill. I go back 7/10, so maybe then. Still continuing with an average of 2# weight loss per week, so can't complain. Stay cool and be positive..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I have always had some issues with moods and anxiety. It seems for me the surgery has helped me immensely though. I am happier about myself. Enjoy who I am becoming, physically and mentally. Yes, I do take medication for my anxiety, but that is not new. I have just cut the dosage down. Exercise is also a big high!! Gosh, did I say that. I was never one to exercise at all in the past 10+ years. but do find I miss it and feel a bit guilty if I do not do something everyday. Some days more than others. Now that the pool is open I can tread water for 30-60 minutes and fine it is a good over all workout.. The liquid diet pre op is tough for some. I just kept the thought that aftersurgery it waould be for a bit longer and all for a lifetime of a healthier me. Keep smiling and keep cool...the high here is for 99 today, and Summer is not officially here :tongue2: And I am on the east coast, we are not used to all this heat

    Any locals?

366 - sounds ,like you are all set to get back to work. take it easy though, you may be more tired tonight than you think!! The large incision is the port location. Mine was really nasty looking too at first, but now it is smooth and only a bit discolored. In time they all flatten and fad. It is so hot out there it sure makes it tough to get outside and do walking. I treaded water for 45 minutes at the pool yesterday. Burned up a few calories. and along with laundry got a little exercise in. Have to hit the "Y" tonight for sure. Keep cool everyone..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

welcome Judy. I am fairly new here, banded 3/19, but I know I look forward to new input from others who have been there-done that. And it is always enjoyable to see other's successes and learn from those who struggle. we are all learning and will continue to learn how to live and work with our new tool the band..

Hot, high 98, humid, unbearable. out this morning to enjoy some pool time, then hitthe "Y" this afternoon for some exercise. I played lazy yesterday and did not exercising at all and feel guilty!! So I have to go today.. Hope this unbearble heat is no indication of what the Summer will be like. March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

went to the DR today, expecting to get a fill, but nope. Dr thought i had enough restriction for now. I have trouble eating more than a few bites of chicken, and start to feel lousy, and have been losing # per week. So she is the DR and I will take her cue. At least now I am not on ,liquids for 2 days and can enjoy the kiddie amusement park with my grandson tomorrow..even though i will watch what i eat I can have a few thing that are typical fun food.. a bit or 2.. no more Hoping to be in onederland in just a few weeks.

    Any locals?

The flatter port is the realize band. I was to have that but the day of my surgery the individual who was the Proctor" for Dr. Wynn was not available. As I was being prepped she tells me I can reschedule the surgery or get the other bad, What do you think my choice was. Yup...surgery that day. I had been trying to lose weight under my DR supervision for an entire year. So her nores and comments were enoght to qualify for the 3-6 moonth diet plan.... The life skills classes are a itboring, but there is some good info to be learned.. I had an appt with Dr. Wynn today and thought I would get a 2nd fill. but she decided I really didn't need it. Mainly because there are some foods that get "stuck" now and if she gave me any fill I would be too tight.. So I am still at 4cc in my 14 cc band. So I am scheduled for another visit in 4 weeks and if I feel the need for a fill before then I am to call the office.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I do enjoy watching both Dr. Davis on that show. I love to see the success stories. And Allen, good to know he is doing well, he was struggling last time i saw him on the show. Big MEdicine was one of the things that peaked my interest in the lapband when i was thinking about surgery. It is a very informative show and deals with the good and bad of the weight lose journey. I go for fill #2 this aftenoon, i have 4cc in my 14 cc band right now. I struggle eating chicken, but most everything else goes down fairly easily. Looking forward to another step in finding my sweet spot.

    Any locals?

was wondering what happened to you. last I heard you had gotten a fill on Friday and then nothing from you. hoipe there have been no complications. Check some of my past posts. I listed the next few group sessions at CHRIAS and the topics. clothes swap was listed for 2 dates. I donated lots of my clothes to a women's shelter, but still have more each week.
