Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Thanks Janet, All words of encouragement are welcomed and needed A tough situation for all here now for this family issue. I try to keep SF goodies around, but even having them around I will go overboard., and I know it is my own self-control.... Being that I am watching my grandson lots of the time when not in work I have little free time to do those things for me that I so need to take time for and that is so frustrating. I know more is ahead for all of us on this issue and am trying to do my best to keep hold of myself during it all.
  3. Is there a group or discount code to use when booking rooms online?

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Holidays and stress...HELP!! Stress is and always has been my easting trigger. Even though I eat less now I am still finding myself eating my comfort foods when stressed. And for me that is "Chocolate" Any ideas on averting my attention from stress eating. It has been a big issue lately with my daughter and grandson in custody battle with baby's father....as well as the holidays H-E-L-P!!!!!

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Luckily I do not have many work related events with food involved. but having aplan for the questions is always good. By the time I was back to work after my surgery, everyone seemed to know. I never really told people not to tell, but felt it should have been my decision to let whoever I wanted to know, when I wanted them to know. but it didn't work out that way. At this time When I am commented on weight loss I tell them thank you and if questions are asked just answer them. I make sure to let them know it has not been an easy journey and will be a liftime/ lifestyle change for me
  6. Are there any scheduled events for Saturday evening. If any are staying over maybe we can have an informal dinner get together... I personally hope to try and get in a show on Sunday if anything is available.. Looking forward to a great weekend

NSV - Yes the dropping clothing size is a big boost as they go down. I was told the other day to start buying more fitting clothes/tops, I still tend to buy looser fitting things: A mental block on having something cling to me!! I have bought a few new things this week and they are flattering, if I do say so myself :tt1: WTG for everyone in thier successes. Let us all keep up the good work over the holiday season

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Drinking before meals - I usually stop a bit before a meal, just for my own satisfaction, I know the liquid goes right through the band, so it would not be an issue. I will have to try and remember to have the water taken away when eating out, because I too, tend to pick up the glass as I am eating..

Fenton - the visual of pants palling down when meeting a new person :scared2: Hope - Congrats on the 50# mark  Christina - so sorry about your mother inlaw. Itr is amazing on the differences in the rituals of other religions/cultures. I survived my holiday party. A few tastes of the desserts and a few glasses of eggnog, very potent eggnog.. I know I should have passed that up, but once a year so it is a splurge.. Busy weeknd, shopping, watching my grandson, and housework. The 2 days flew by..

Fenton - Yeah, go to the library, you are tempting fate with McDonalds and ice cream parlors!!! Everyone enjoy thier weekend, not sure I'll have any internet acces over the weekend
  14. I was not a lapbander until this past MArch 2008. If we had met before it was several years ago.

Guess it is just ironic that you have the same screen name (I used Maxie1215 as my sign on at that time) as someone I communicated with years ago.

I plan on heading to the NYC conf in March, Maybe we will get to meet then

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

not at a normal BMI and I am already into sabatogue!!! Eating things I know are wrong. I did restart using a food lournal and find myself doing better. Making oneself accountable on paper has been helpful. All I need is to get in time for exercise.. Seems I am fighting myself too. Like most times I lose weight and then feel like I can do anything and BAM, the weight goes back on. Of course not all that fast, but creeping. HELP, kick me in the A$$ to wake me up..

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

So many successes and journeys into onederland, congratulations to all!! I am at a plateau, self inflicted or stubborn I do not know. Gained 2#.. Need to get back to exercising. but taking care of my grandson after work has taken some of my free time away and I cannot find any time to exercise. I need a swift kick in the pants to get moving..MOTIVATION !!! :cursing:

WTG, congratulations I am still at the same place I was 3 weeks ago. this plateau is a killer, the same 1 or 2 pounds up and down. Am restarting my food jpournal and hopew that gives my weight loss a boost. I go back to the DR on 12/30 so who knows if I will get a fill or not. I still think I am at a good place as far as restriction, but not losing the weight.

Got on the scqale this morning and I gained!! No one to blame but myself. Only 2#, but it is 2#. Having my grandson around all the time gives opportunity to snack here and there and I know I shouldn't. :cursing: Just an excuse!!. But have to and I WILL get back in line today. I have not kept my food lurnal for about a month and need to get back to that too, I know that will be a big help for me.

TESS - congrats on the NSV, new scrubs for work and a few sized smaller.. I know we all probably had our OOPS moments over this past weekend, but I agree Today is a new day..!! I have not been on the scale since last tuesday and am dreading it this morning, but have to do it for my own mental check in. Hope I at least remain the same with no gain!! I'll know soon.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Happy Black Friday!!!! I survived T-day. I did not cook, did not have to clean up. visited, ate and left. no leftovers. I had about 1 Tbs of what I wanted and that was it. There were no Desserts to tempt me either. I enjoyed the company, but was glad to get home and relax. I even treated myself to a movie last night. I saw "Australia" I truly enjoyed it. It was a bit long but still good.. I shopped yesteray morning and am at work today, so no chance of hitting the stores early. I will do some shopping tomorrow.. Enjoy the weekend. I hope to get online over the weekend, but have been having computer connection issues on my home computer.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

WE made it through Thanksgiving. I managed well, since I did not cook, had no clean up and no leftovers.. I am doing well. I had a bit of everything. maybe a tablesonn of things and about 1 ounce of turkey. and was full I treated myself to the movies last night, I saw "Australia". I thought it was a great movie.. Now on to December; I will be cooking some of the meal for xmas, but we are celebrating at my daughter's. It seems my band is nont as restrictive or fickle, as a few weeks ago. It has been about 9 weeks since my last fill.. but who knows tomorrow it may be "fickle" once again Holidays are a bit tough for me this year. Like so many of us I have had my losses. Mine is my sister: back in January. So to all of us with losses, stress and other issues to live with..I am grateful to everyone I have gotten to know here on the thread and am thankful for my health and family ..and that family includes all of you.

NSV - sizes are always a great scale... down to a size 12 in pants and almost in shirts. Feel great. My wardrobe budget has taken a hit, but enjoy shopping now and even trying things on in the stores..and don't forget, getting those compliments from friends and family are great too. GOBBLE, GOBBLE..enjoy everyone

Happy Turkey Day!! Be good everyone. I am grateful I am not cooking, no temptation to taste everything as I cook. But I sure wish I could keep myself away from the chocolate. Very stressfull at home now and chocolate has always been my VICE ... HELP!!!!
