I was just recently diagnosed within the past year. Ladies who are on metformin, does it ever stop making you sick?
I used to take it and it does get a lot better! Just keep at it and make sure your not eating foods that trigger bowel issues. Funny thing, I had to take a magnesium citrate cleanse and it was NOTHING compared to a metformin blowout.

I've never heard of that 8 months out. Could you possibly be pregnant? I hope you get your coverage back Soon so you can get it checked out!

The only thing I couldn't live without was my robe. I used it to Walk the halls, but also balled it up and used it to position my body, and used as a blanket when I needed some comfort. I never use one at home so that surprised me the most. Other than that, hospital provided everything including toothbrush and chap stick

Thankfully I am sleeping through the night which keeps me pretty energized during the day. How is your Water and Protein? I was surprised it wasn't as hard to reach my intake goals as I thought.

As long as I spread my Fluid intake throughout the day it's no problem. The day I came home from the hospital I went a huge span without drinking and it was hard to catch up! How much protein are you getting and from what sources?

I am dealing with something similar. I have a lady who seems determined to make me feel deeply flawed for gaining 100 lbs since my last child. Apparently she thinks my weight gain is caused by my childhood. She sent me to be evaluated for an eating disorder and the institute staff said I didn't meet the criteria. Apparently, this lady disagrees with the leading eating disorder institute in our metro area... the same one she sent me to! I have had my personal therapist (seen her weekly for 3 years) submit a letter at this women's request. That's not good enough either. I have had the inital consult, plus 2 appointments with her, plus the mmpi, then the mmpi results meeting where she said it was inconclusive (which I know 80% end up inconclusive b/c she told me), and now she wants to meet for 30 mins in May and 1 hour in June. WTF!
I feel your pain. I have done everything else since January and this women (desribed by me as about 110 lbs wearing 4 inch heels everyday - bugs me but not sure why... lol) seems bent on stalling by making up "what if's" every time we talk. I even called my insurance company thinking she was just trying to charge up as much as she could as she's contracted by the surgery clinic. Ugh!
Rant over! [emoji6] Hope you have better luck.
That legitimately happened to me. She was baiting for more appointments and leaving me threatening messages saying that she was going to "change my report" if I did not listen to her. My hospital ended up dropping her and will no longer do business with this woman. I was not the only patient she did this to and then I found our retroactively that she had previous convictions for ethical violations. Long story short, I ended up having to file a complaint with the board of psychiatry and she's under investigation currently. Be careful who you chose and talk with your Bariatric team if you think something is off. I did and they moved me to a new evaluator ASAP to try and unravel the damage this lady had caused me.

I am doing great! Day 1 was tough but u have been great since. Spent one night in the hospital and haven't had to take pain meds since coming home. I have had no problem with Water or Protein. Getting a little stir crazy around the house but I don't want to push anything the first week. How are you?

Still taking pain meds at night otherwise I wake up a lot (mostly to pee) TMI I know but they really do pump you so full of liquids. Helps me fall back asleep faster if I take them. I went to the grocery store today and it made me tired which was really sad! LOL.
Oh, and I'm now addicted to the food channels. It's becoming a problem!

Everyone always gets a lift plus reduction. If you look around on real self, you can find people who get a lift without implants but with fat transfer, and they use your skin to make an internal bra. That way you can lift, and gain volume.
That is the kind of lift I want. Big breast run in my family and I want to keep mine. I have always had large breasts and I am not interested in being anything smaller than a DD. Dolly Parton is my spirit animal.
I'm with you in this one. Even when I was small I had humungous breasts- it's my most noticeable family trait. I'm so interested to see what happens to them through this process. I'm already expecting to have a TT and Brest lift. I wouldn't mind smaller than my current, but nothing under the DD!

How are you doing, Bekah? Today seemed like a turning point in recovery for me. I was really able to get up and about. Wondering how my May 1st peeps are doing!!

It wasn't until I was a 12 that my WL really hit me hard.
A few things that helped me accept my size...
Taking my measurements, and comparing them to size charts. Numbers don't lie.
Trying on clothes every week. For a while even if I wasn't going to buy something I dedicated 2-3 hours a week to trying on clothes, trying on clothes in various sizes and brands helped convince me of my size.
I still have a hard time just picking clothes by looking at them. It doesn't help that in normal sizes there is more size variation in sizes than with plus sizes. There are fewer plus size clothing makers and fewer size variations. In regular clothes not on do you have brand variations, but I also shop in juniors a lot and that is whole different thing too. Lately I can look at dresses like sheath dresses and know they will fit. I wear a 10 in Calvin and Ralph Lauren and I know what that looks like, so if a dress looks that size I have a good chance of fitting it. I wear a G cup so my boobs are an issue. If something has stretch and I don't have to go up to fit my breasts in I can wear an 8. I can eye ball that too.
Still this has been like 5 months in the making.
I always shopped in normal stores for accessories or with my friends so I don't feel like a fraud. I was a shopaholic before so I feel comfortable in any store. Plus I look like a shopper so sales people love me.
Love this!

My surgery day is Thursday (!!), and I have to do a two-day clear liquid diet. Today is Day 1. I am drinking my Isopure. I had some tea and am planning on broth later today ...
Any other ideas or favorites?
Go to bed early
In all seriousness, just did mine and pretty much drank broth and tea. And I definitely went to bed early to hide from food!

Surgery was yesterday. I had a bad reaction to one of the med given to me during the surgery and ended up in ICU for all yesterday. Today is much better and I'm in a normal room. Hurting a little
Oh no! I'm sorry you had a reaction. Hopefully they are making you comfortable!

Omg how was the swallow test? No gas sigh I need your doc lol
The stuff was gross, but not as bad as everyone said. Sort of tasted like cough medicine and vinegar! I was shocked about not having gas or nausea- I was thinking id have both!!

I'm also May 1st! I'm strangely calm. I'm just ready to get it done. I have to take my magnesium citrate in about 2-3 hours and keep to my Clear Liquids. Can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!!

May 1st and I'm hitting a calm point. I'm thinking Sunday night is when the big nerves will kick back in!

Just rest assured in the fact that even if it is 5lbs off, it will still show your declining weight if you are losing! They weighed you with the same scale at 1st appointment so it's still setting the bar. Good luck!

One of the major reasons I will do nothing but RNY is due to the revision rate. Both band AND sleeve are both revised to bypass. It is still the gold standard Bariatric surgery and comes with the most research. They have also greatly improved their methods to help with the severe malabsorption that used to happen even a decade ago. I only want one surgery and this is the one that seems so tried and true.

My pre-op consult was pushed out to May 9th. Looking at a surgery the week of May 22nd, but won't know for sure until the 9th.
I was so disheartened this morning when I couldn't go to my consult today. I literal got ill from it. I ended up sleeping most of the afternoon, but I didn't turn to food. Now I have resigned myself to it and I am wondering who will be having sleeves then too.

What a bummer! I'm glad you have a date but it would be hard to have things change on you last minute. Best of luck!

I know which one you're talking about. They have a thinner liquid Tylenol that is red instead of the thick purple kind. I would ask if they can switch for you! Best of luck, I'm sorry you're miserable!
