    Holy moly! $5,500?

    Anxiety kicking in

It helped me so much to take the pre-op class. There is such a low complication rate, especially when sticking to your plan. Try and calm down and think more on the logical side instead of the emotional. You are the only one who can ultimately decide, but try not to psyche yourself out too much! I'm May 1st, so I'm in the boat with you!

    No pre-op diet

I'm may 1s and also do not have a pre op diet other than clear liquid the day before surgery. I also did not have a pre-op weight loss requirement if you are a patient that had to quit smoking (which I did.) every surgeon is so different! Maybe I'll hop on the train with you and do a week prior!

    I'm almost there!

May 1st is my surgery day! Good luck on your last appointment
  5. Thank you for articulating it for me. These things drive me crazy.
  6. Didn't say anything about your situation, simply saying you're trying to get people to buy this. Are you getting some sort of kick back?
  7. Scam might night be the right word. I think you are on here to get traffic to this website and get paid for it. Just my opinion.
  8. This is a scam post to sell product. Don't give it the time of day.

14 days post op 6 wks Pregnant

Some PCOS ladies will test positive falsely, didn't know it was a blood test. I would schedule the ultrasound and have them date you!

14 days post op 6 wks Pregnant

The rapid hormone release from weight loss could also be giving a false positive result. I wouldn't bank too much on it until you get an exam and ultrasound done.

    It's getting Real!

I'm also may 1st but I'm bypass. I know exactly how you feel, except it has taken me a year with all of my insurance requirements. They called me last Friday and I almost panicked... Like, wait a minute, what did I get myself into! LOL. I even said that to the lady calling to schedule me. I know we are not getting the same surgery, but we can totally be surgery buddies! I haven't found anyone with my date yet : )

    Surgery Scheduled May 2nd

I got the call today! May 1st is my date. I want to hit the fast forward button!
  13. 3 months. I'm happy to say that I'm almost 5 months smoke free and could not be happier! Follow the instructions of your surgeon, or Do one better and stop now no matter how far away surgery may be. You will thank yourself in the long run. Good luck! Lapband / Gastric Bypass

If you're unsure you should really talk to your surgeon. It's a personal choice based on your circumstances and surgeon recommendations. That being said, I personally would not go with the band. The people who do not have issues long term seem to be the exception, not the rule. All WLS will only succeed with compliance to your plan, however I've heard too many horror stories about the band and listened to my surgeon when he said that they are phasing them out almost everywhere due to the complications (most not related to compliance, like having the material fuse to liver and organs and slipping/erosion.) the sheer amount of revisions and maintenance necessary was enough to tip the scales for me as well. On top of that I know people who have struggled to get a revision to bypass or sleeve because insurance does not want to cover a second surgery. I'm not knocking anyone who chooses the band, these are my personal opinions and personal recommendations from my surgeon who does not band people any longer for ethical reasons. Good luck in whatever you choose!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. I had to hold back tears in mine. I think it's good to admit things and talk through them- I think looking too perfect can be a red flag in its own. We didn't get to this point by having it all together. Just make sure you have a plan in place on how you're going to handle things pre and post op and communicate that. You've got this Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Psych eval tomorrow! Scared.

I had four appointments (one was just the computerized test.) you won't fail- just make sure you go in prepared to answer questions on how you plan to be successful and such. A toddler could pass the questionnaire. I'm sure you'll do great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    TV Show My 600lb Life

I wouldn't doubt that at all! You couldn't Pay me to do that, free surgery or not and I'm nowhere near their size. I honestly think they're desperate to find someone who is even willing to perform surgery on someone that size- it was sort of revolutionary when they started it. I wish someone would pay for mine without having to go on TV Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    So um...

There is nothing wrong with getting a beer with someone, and nothing wrong with us in this as practice. If you're not into him romantically, tell him up front and be honest that it's platonic. And please remember... You do not owe anyone anything. Don't ever let someone guilt you into anything because they bought you a beer/meal/etc. Good luck, relax, have fun, and give yourself some credit Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    The walking dead

I was honestly devastated. I cried in my couch like a 2 year old and relived all the scenes with my fav guy (other than Daryl.) I don't know if I can watch anymore. And to think I originally thought Negan was sexy!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
