Nenniebelle got a reaction from Dub in WEEK 3.5 POST-OP GASTRIC SLEEVE
My name is Nena and I am currently in week 4 of Post-op. I've lost over 28lbs and have so much energy! My surgery was performed in Lubbock,TX by Dr David Syn and he did an amazing Job!! I've begun to stall some it seems and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this around the 1 month mark. Still in some discomfort, however, do not regret this decision one bit! This Southern Belle loves to cook (and EAT) THIS WAS MY LAST HOPE TO BE HEALTHY

Yup......it is your own actions that have to be bari-friendly, lol.
Any restaurant has something that will work out nicely.
It is one of the cool things about this new way of living....healthy choices become ingrained in our thinking and guide our actions in an "auto-pilot" way.
For example.....I'm fairly certain that I'll be going out to eat this afternoon. Not sure where we'll be going....most likely either Mexican (I hope), seafood or steakhouse (my least favorite).
If we go Mexican then it's super easy. Wide range of items. Fajitas are always easy. I don't eat the tortilla shells, just the meat and guacamole. I normally don't even eat the frijoles n' queso, although they are considered bari-friendly by most. I'll ask for celery & salsa to enjoy as an appetizer instead of chips. They also have a shrimp Soup that is stellar.
Seafood....broiled fish is the first choice.
    Steakhouse.....grilled steak or chicken.
The one aspect that may not be bari-friendly in many restaurants is the portion size. Never finishing a meal is pretty much a standard strategy for us now.....so we've learned to accept that there will be to-go boxes or we leave it on the plate and call it good.
The steakhouse may be the easiest. A small filet is a great sized meal for me.

Ok 6 days till surgery. Been doing a week of soft diet (mostly liquid). Minor cheating today but mostly ok. My doctor is recommending 5 days soft 5 days liquid. Not that bad. Blinding headaches fir three days and now pretty raw emotionally but working on staying low key. Small fail yelled at my son couple of times for no real good reason other than him minorly pushing my buttons. Mothers day first day of full liquid diet. Little weight loss already. Cant wait till this is done.

    Hey everybody!
I'm 23 years old and from the GREAT state of Texas.
    Here are my stats.
    350- Highest weight May 2016
    342-Weight at consultation June 2016
336- 08/16/2016 pre op diet start
    309- Surgery date 8/23/16
    299- 8-31-2016 1 week post op.
I'm down 51 pounds from my highest weight and under 300 for the first time in about 4 years.
As far as surgery goes I had my surgery by Dr. Roberts in Dallas Tx. I had the VSG around noon and was moved into recovery for about 4 hours then sent home. The first week was a lot of gas pain but by day 5 it finally left! I haven't cheated on my diet one time and don't plan on it however I've noticed my surgeons guidelines are extreme compared to others
I won't be on puréed until my 4th week and regular food until my 8th week..

That is some impressive weight loss you did prior to surgery.
You are doing a really good thing for yourself with this. Getting into shape and staying that way will reward you in many life-enriching ways.
