  9. Thanks so much for all the positive feedback. I am 33 lbs down today and I have not one single regret yet. Feeling great. I see my surgeon on Wednesday fior follow up and postop class and I am still taking my BP meds. I feel absolutely wonderful. @@wenrishel I have BCBS too. My hospital bill was paid but I haven't gotten anes bill yet. I double checked at time of admission that it was an in-network provider. Fingers crossed I get no bill. I only paid $150 on admission for 100% coverage. Resubmit.

  14. Update: I was sleeved on 16 May (9 days postop) and doing great! Currently 27 lbs down since Apr 2016. HW: 221, SW: 201 (BMI 34.9) CW: 195. No problems at all and very minimal pain after surgery. Getting 80 grams of Protein in daily and 64 oz of Water. So excited for what is to come in my new life. Anxious to start a more vigorous working out and toning. When the hospital nurse walked in to my room postop and said " girl why did u have surgery? I am fatter than u!" I said "yea well I have a big problem losing the weight and don't want to be fat period." We laughed about it. I know I made the right decision after spending so much money on diet pills and laser treatments.
  15. Update: I had my surgery Mon around noon. On Tuesday I had leak test and then ate at least 50% of two all liquid meals. I came home Tuesday afternoon. Today is Wednesday and I am doing fine so far. Never used any pain meds or had gas pains. My daughter who is an RN is taking care of me for next few days. Felling so blessed everything had gone so smoothly so far. Keeping praying and keep up the will and it will be ok. I was the only one in group of 4 on the ward that came home Tuesday. U have to get up and walk walk walk! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Update: I had my surgery yesterday at 12 noon. Went very well. In my room by 2. I haven't needed anymore pain meds after the initial the pumped me with during surgery. Never used my PCA. I have been up and walking every 2 hrs. No gas pains yet. Started taking Zofran for nausea about 8 hrs ago. No other discomfort. Feeling very blessed right now. 20. Kitkattulsa, if u go below 35 BMI will ur insurance not cover? I was approved over 35 but now i am below 35 and surgery is next week. I asked my dr office about that and they said I was already approved so it doesn't matter if I go below. It still worries me though.
  21. U lost that much in 45 days? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am getting sleeved in San Antonio, Tx on Monday, 16 May. When and where is ur date? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I am a low bmi as well probably right at 35 right now if not a little lower. Getting sleeved in SanAntonio, TX 16 May. Would love to share the journey with u too.
  24. My date is May 16th as well. I haven't been on any kind of pre-op diet yet. My pre-op class is on Wednesday, 4 May. I suppose I will get on in then. I know my dr has a required package that costs $270 that's supposed to have everything for pre and post op. I had given up on my insurance approving my surgery so this past 6 months I stopped researching everything I would need to prepare. I did buy two different little containers that I read about were good for separating 1 oz items, etc. and counting your Water intake. Been reading a few horror stories and starting to scare myself into backing out.
  25. I will be sleeved 16 May 2016 by Dr. Nilesh Patel in SAn Antonio, Tx. Anybody use him or have any words of advice? I am low bmi 35. Thanks.
