I used Dr Garcia in May for VGS revision. GREAT experience. Wouldn't change a thing. I used Dr Ortiz in 2011 for my band he and his staff were great too. Just too expensive for my sleeve revision. Dr Garcia charged $5200 for revision and Ortiz wanted $8000. No brainer. Good Luck, you will be in good hands. My post op was super uneventful and NO gas pains

For anyone who had RNY, when did you go back to work? I will have 10 days from my surgery date before I go back. I am scared that is not enough. I only work 3 days a week at a school working as a tutor for children but I do walk a bit. Please share stories!

Mine is set for the 17th. It was tough trying to decide between the sleeve and bypass. Ultimately, because of my GERD, I chose the bypass. I am a little nervous.

Hi, I am having bypass done with Dr. Fernando Garcia soon hopefully. I was gonna do the sleeve, but now am doing bypass due to my diabetes and GERD. I have been able to find a lot of what people say about having the sleeve done with him, but haven't spoken to anyone who has had bypass done by him. Would u mind sharing your experience?

I am from the Denham Springs, LA area and am having surgery soon. Trying to find others in my area to connect with so that I may ask some questions about their experience. I know I need to get a doctor to agree to see me post o.o and perform lab work, check incisions I would assume, etc. I am not sure what kind of doctor to see or who might be willing to do that in the Baton Rouge area.
