    Sharing My Post-Op Diet Plan

wow. I like this list much better than mine, and how its detailed about how much to try at first. I was told not to start Protein until week two. Since I only have a day or two left, i'll wait. I miss mashed potatoes.

    Gastric Sleeve Newbie

Hi Paulita8323, I got sleeved on November 25th and now doing my liquids! Good luck to you. There are many difficult moments but I have real goals that I want to see through, so I'm holding on as best as I can! I'm here for you if you need any support!
  9. Surgery day is finally here.
  10. its so dangerous and not worth it to eat during this time. I hope your sleeve is still intact and that all is well with you. Update us on how you feel. I just wanna add that I can understand the opening the door to something else, part though. As an food addict you never should put yourself in a position where you can't stop or will fail. One cheat always leads to another. Good luck.

Wow! Congrats! We are very close in HW weight, so I'm so encouraged to see your progress. You look amazing. Did you exercise as well to lose this fast? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm two days away from surgery and it's been a rollercoaster of emotions. I worry, I'm excited, I feel brave, I am super nervous but I'm keeping it all together. A new life, where I look and feel better, where I can do so much more than I am able to is the goal, and I'm not letting my fears get in the way of that.

The rollercoaster is a common ride in the days before surgery. Your ride sounds great -- you're a living, breathing, thinking, real, live girl. ["Thank you" to Pinocchio.) You'll be wonderful.

I was super freaked out, too! In fact, I thought about turning the car around the day of my surgery... I am SO glad I didn't... You got this!

I am 22 days away and I had a post-Thanksgiving melt down. You would have thought I consumed the world. I can laugh about it now but I woke up so depressed. Not to mention I fall asleep watching YouTube WLS journeys. How did your surgery go?

    Waves of emotions

I'm self-pay, so I did my research, settled on a doctor, and set my own date. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out for not having gone through the many months of classes and pre-requirements. I wonder if I'm ready enough to do this, if I know enough. A lot of self doubt, basically. Other times I'm glad to just get it over with, and not think too much more. ONEderland!

Congrats! See you on the other side, soon!
  16. I've been delayed in setting a surgery date due to work obligations. I am also an occasional smoker (not cigarettes) but sheesha/hkah. I want to start my pre-op and set a date. Perhaps within the two week window. I have been good about staying away from carbs and sugar, but far from perfect. I was thinking one week of pre-op then the surgery. Is this going to be very risky for me? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. OP, and those of you who have had the surgery (I'm still pre-op here), When you did something your stomach did not agree with did you have any vomiting? If yes, does it help usually or hurt more? How can you differentiate between Gas pains after eating or something much worse such as long-term intolerance? @@Anthony74, I hope you feel better & that everything is still intact with your sleeve.
  18. Is there any one who has had SILS? More so, interested in knowing if anyone over 40 BMI has had it done? I am considering this route because I am so afraid of not healing properly from any scarring. Also I read that it's less painful than that of the regular sleeve. Please let me know
  19. thanks for all the responses, especially to those of you who shared the pics. @@Joy@boman, hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly
  20. Checked the scale, and I've lost 5 pounds! Yay! I've been on low carbs. Soon I'll be on my liquid diet. I can't wait. Feels great.

  21. Aspiring Bikini Model. If I could just lose all of this weight, haha. Thanks for the response. I'm just worried about what it will look like. I wish there was a scars thread on here, so I could have some sense. There are not enough photos on Instagram. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Disappointment. My work is demanding and just when I put in my leave, it turns out there is another work "emergency" that sets me back for another week. I'm getting anxious about scheduling for another surgery date.

When you are in your 60s, 70s, 80s, are you going to remember the "work emergency" or the surgery you had to allow you to live all those extra years? You have to put yourself first at some point.

Whoever would be handling the "emergency" that arises when you are out of the office is the one who should be handling the emergencies now.

Thanks for all the comments. I thought Id decide to just take care of it, so that I could not only have a peace of mind, but also get a real chance at resting and recuperating from the surgery without any interruptions or worries. Furthermore, In my line of work, theres plenty of blame to go around. Great work but all of that End of the year bs. Going Forward, I will definitely put myself first. After all, I'm all that I have. Thanks again.
