  1. Okay its been a long 3 months Had my Surgery feb 20th, and for a while there I was stuck at 210lbs Didn't matter what I did. I forced the Protein in drank more Water and went for longer walks and IM FINALLY UNDER 200lbs!!! I haven't been under 200lbs in 10 years.

But here is why I'm really here today- is anyone else having the dreaded Hair loss? my hair is falling out and breaking worse then a golden retriever in sheading season. I've been taking Biotin even prior to surgery. but my hair has become soo thin.

Ticks and trips that work? things you've read online? or am I rocking a ponytail for the rest of my days to come?

Wahhhhooooooooooo! It's that time again folks! Let's have an outstanding Weigh-In Wednesday!!!!

    Post your deets!

    SW:

    CW:

    GW:

    Pounds lost since surgery.

How you're doing now--any major events, milestones, brags!!!! We wanna hear from you guys. We miss you!!!

    Happy Hump Day!!

You're totally the unofficial Feb cheerleader! thanks for keeping us motivated!

Ive been missing these weigh ins because I'm complacently discouraged with myself. think its 3 weeks now and im dancing between 213-210

    SD: Feb 20th, 2018

SW: 249lbs (or somthing close to that...so many numbers)

    CW: 210...ish

GW 140-150 (although right now i just want to be under 200)

Back at work and doing well, i think work has me more on tract back on a kinda schedule, pushing Protein this week really hoping to hit those goals and see if i can push though this stall.

Ok, here's mine for this Wednesday, March 21, 2018: 4 weeks + 1 day post op

    SW 222.4lbs (2.20.18 RNY)

CW 210.4lbs (sigh--Damn you 3 week stall--why do you have to tease me so?)

Averaging about 450-500cals/day--eating mostly food for Protein. Having about 1/2 to 2/3 of a Protein Drink as needed to make 60g of Protein.

And the good news is that so far, I have not killed anyone yet due to my severe irritation with the scale and this forking stall!

Stuck at 215 myself 4 weeks post op. Havent killed anyone yet. Down 42 lbs but i am going to buy a new scale if this one doesnt start moving! Ans it knows it! Lol

Some days i feel hungry somendays i forget to eat.

((hugs)) You could be me...I'm 4 weeks tomorrow and for the past week I've actually gained a little over a pound. I'd only lost 12lbs since surgery. Now I'm at 10.8lbs loss. The scale is up and down in the cursed 3 week stall that can hit any time from 2-4 weeks.

I am averaging 400-500 cals/day, about 60g of Protein, less than 20g of fat and less than 20g of whole carbs per day and less than 10g of sugar per day. I actually can NOT figure out how our bodies can hang onto the weight with that kind of deficit. I walk every day for a minimum of 30 minutes (3/4 mile).

I seiously got up this morning and just wanted to sob like a baby.

*hugs* back at ya. I really dont know girl i feel like.sobbing right next to you. Doing my best doesnt seem good enough and its my compelte focus right now as im not even back to work yet.

This weeks focus is Protein see what i can do here

First of all, don't ever say "only to lose 42 lbs."!! That's a LOT of weight. Go to the grocery store and try to hold 8 bags of potatoes (5# bags). You'll realize that is a LOT of weight. I've done it with 15 pounds. Be proud of how far you've come!!! Second, don't be afraid of food. I know that's easier said than done, it's part of the psychological programming we all have to learn to reprogram. You need food in order to lose weight. Food gives your body the energy to burn calories. And yes, EAT THE PROTEIN! Make sure you get your minimum of 60 grams. If you have to, use the Protein Shakes to get it. The Protein helps your weight loss also.

Try not to get discouraged. Keep moving forward with your stages of eating. I'm only 2 weeks post-op and I'm already eating regular foods. But I can tolerate it. I'm not sure how your tolerance level is. For right now, don't be concerned with calories. Just get in your Protein while keeping the fat and sugar low. And if you are able to, get moving. Just walking will help you. Remember, this is a journey. It will not happen overnight. At your next meeting with your nutritionist, let him/her know what's going on. I'm sure you can get suggestions and help. Keep up the great work! I'm only down 15 lbs right now, so be proud of your 42 lost!!!!

Thank you for that, youre right 42lb is an achomplishment but im discuraged becuase most of it was on the liqued diet preop.

Im marching forward but god this is mentally exhausting

  6. Okay guys, amost 1 month post op. And for about a week ive been stuck at 215lbs. 1 week ago i started pureed diet tolerating foods and now im not loosing anything which is really discouaging me ( maybe discourages the wrong word but upsetting would be a good word) starting yo feel gulity putting anything in my mouth like i shoulf remain on liqueds. Carbs are low, sugar free averaging about 500-600calories a day. Portine could be better but im averaging 30-40g a day.

I cant have done all this to only loose 42lbs.

Oh okay so im not crazy and didnt miss somthing...plus somone needs to be in chargesand keep us on track lol

I sure hope they get your meds straightened out ASAP! I know that's no fun! I'm hoping I'll be one of the lucky few who have little nausea. I'm taking GasX chewables with me just in case... and some MiraLax.

Girl next to me felt so bad she had no nasuia kept rining the bell for the nurse for me. They kept me 3 nights because of this. GasX was a life send, although pain managed it helpped so much being able to pass gas

You got this girl. Have i had a few moments of reget...yes a little would i go back? Nope. Dow to almost 225 from 250. Small but huge.

So the nausea due to the stomach and intestines surgery hasn't been that bad? I've seen several posts where the nausea due to messing with stomach and intestines has been really bad.

Sent from my SM-G930P using BariatricPal mobile app

It was pretty bad for me that was the worst part although in all fairness as well I have a bad reaction to anesthetic which I learned the surgery and last night I learned that I'm allergic to hydromorphone after my body broke out in hives if I didn't have this stupid complications related to medication the surgery would have been a breeze

I am having revision from LapBand to RNY on Tuesday 2/27. So close! Starting wt. 314, current 293. Doing a liquid preop diet. Good luck and healing prayers to you all.

All the best to you! Im 4 days post op. Spent 3 nights in-hospital related to a bad reaction to anesthetic cause me to really really feel nauseous and vomit but other than that the pain is been tolerable I'm getting my fluids in although I have to stay on top of it prayers with you and all the best

Had my raux rny on feb 20th ans im still i hosp..pain is VERY managable. But i am beyond nauseated walking around but its not helping much likely going home. Tomorrow

Hello all! I had RNY on Tuesday morning 2/13. Hospital was great, but when I got home yesterday stuff got real. No more morphine or pain pump. I have some liquid hydrocodone, but that is only helping a little. I’ve been walking, and drinking. This is TOUGH. Anyone else have their surgery 2/13?

Mine is coming up on Tuesday Feb 20th, definitely starting to freak out. This liquid diet has been a bit rough but manageable as in my head i know its only temporary i fear the pain and discomfort. Keep us posted on how youre feeling!

The Optifast is powdered. Instead of making it a drink, I added a lot less Water and adjusted it until I got to the right consistency. Then I added either Torani or Skinny Syrup - not a lot, maybe 15ml, and then a tablespoon of Decaf (depending on what kind of skinny syrup I was adding). If I was adding the raspberry, then I'd skip the decaf coffee. Skinny Syrup also makes fat free sugar free foams meant to go on Hot Drinks. I added it to the opti and it made the texture light, like a mousse.

Much, much more bearable for me than drinking it. After I discovered the mousse/pudding option, I used this method for the rest of the 4 weeks. To be honest, the taste was fantastic. I also added Mio orange to the vanilla and the taste was similar to a creamsickle.

The only problem is that you have this 4 times per day, and for me, it was 4 weeks. While it was good, I *really* looked forward to something savoury, like my beef broth that I was allowed once a day.

Why didnt i think of this! Doing it today! Im day 5 of 14 days of Optifast. The not normally a chocolate fan but tries it yesterday and its so much nore bareable then the awful vanilla. Not sure what skinny syrup is but i know where to find mio! Thanks for the idea

Oh, don't get me wrong, there is hunger. But it's manageable and not stark raving mad kind of hunger? But I will confess, at night I'm playing a ton of games on my iphone lol! :D

Im going to bed early tonight...sleep though the hunger pains. (Yes im being dramatic) 13 days to go!

Is anyone using the ketone strips during the pre op diet phase?

I didnt think of it, I guess i could but I start my Optifast diet tomorrow 14 days to go. I can only have optifast and a few "clear fluids" no sugar added stuff. Already feeling tired today. As a nurse myelf Im not sure how im going to make it but im pushing though.

Don't be, you are doing a GOOD,thing for your self. Tomorrow you set,out on a journey to good health. I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. I'm still waiting on my day to come. The dreading,is worse than the actual procedure, we have the testimony of veterans on that. What kind of surgery will you be having? Come on tell me, I'll listen, I'm a grandma aged kakatlady, nothing shocks me anymore. Is there any fears I can disprove? How old are you? You would, like you might be young, cuddle up on my virtual lap and I'll rock you. Remember how far you've come already on your journey, you are gonna be fine. Now promise you'll let us know when your surgery is done, we love hearing happy stories here . a lot of us will be sending, good wishes your way and those who believe will be praying for you. Now get some rest for your big day.

Its supportive words like this which are making my count down a little easier. The support in this community is unbelievable. 16 days to go, food funeral this weekend... not what i thought it would be. I'm terrified but I'm ready!

We all lose weight at different rates but people that have lost that slowly may have underlying concerns that are causing the slower loss.

I am two months post bypass today. I’ve lost 43 pounds since surgery, and 63 pounds down total from pre surgery. My loss post surgery has been slower than I thought it would be, but it’s steady and faster than I could have ever done without my surgery. What’s more important is already things that were becoming very challenging in day to day life are already easier, and will only become more so as I lose more weight.

Just trust in the process. Focus on reading the success stories online preoperatively so you go into surgery with that positive mind set!

    Best wishes!

    Thank you! Trusting the procsess

Stefanie0804 are you looking for someone to sing duet? I'm a creditable second soprano to tenor, exactly the same feeling and fears I have. I screwed up at dieting how so how so how d o I know I won't be a failure and mess this up? The answer believe in yourself the new tool you will have your commitment and the testimony of all these others. God Bless and I'll be watching for your story.

Ill take a whole orchestra! Doubt is always going to be there. I'm doing my best to stay positive and have started a list of reminders on why I'm doing this and what I've promised myself. I by no means want to sabotage myself. But I've sang this song before.

The support of this community though, I have to admit is wonderful. Taking the time out to reassure a crazy by-passer (small pun intended) means a heck of a lot! so thank you!

I had my surgery Dec. 5th 2017 and am down about 40 pounds. It is really worth it. I too have been up and down with my weight and I finally had enough. I have good days and bad but now most of them are good!

This is good to hear! Thank you

I am 9 weeks out, and I am down 40 pounds so far, and compared to some of the others who were around my date I have lost a lot less than them. We are all different, comparing each other doesn't help. I had about a year of appts. till I had my surgery and then went through the whole thing over Thanksgiving and Christmas, and let me tell you that was so hard. But I got through it, just like you will. We wanted this surgery for a reason, to change our lives for the better. Live a happy, healthy, and longer life. You will not fail. You have come to far and once you start seeing those results which happen pretty quick you will be so glad you took the leap.

Thank you fpr taking the time. This is excatly what i need to hear!
