    Any Iowa sleevers?

I was exhausted until about day 7 post op...then it was like a switch. I had energy but not a ton of stamina until about week 4. Then i was able to walk regularly. I never had any tailbone pain but I have read about others that have. Try a search on here on tailbone pain and see what comes up.

Not really....water helps some. Eventually i was able to suck on sugar free breath mints and that helps when I am seeing patients in the Hospital. Other than that i just keepnhoping that as the carb count get closer to 50 it will go away.

The bad breath is from no carbs and anesthesia. I have been less than 20 carbs since i was able to eat and i still have the breath from ketosis.

You will get there! Keep up with the water! Walk as much as you can! Energy will return about 1 week or so. You are doing great!

    Any Iowa sleevers?

I did have some reflux before hand. They make you take something the first 3 months anyway I believe. I had to take an additional medication called carafate for 2-3 weeks and it is much better now.

    Any Iowa sleevers?

@nana1222. I am feeling great now. The first 3 weeks were pretty rough from a nausea standpoint. I had terrible reflux which was contributing to my nausea. So once that was under control i could actually get down protein and water and start to eat. At 8 weeks out I have a great amount of energy and can eat 1-2 oz of fish or chicken. It really takes a lot of work to figure out what and how much to eat. I had minimal surgical pain.

Glad to hear you are doing well! I had VSG by Dr. Cahalan August 15th. The whole group and staff are wonderful!
  8. Many of us know that we turn to food for comfort but we dont always "realize" it until we cant during this journey. Some will return to comforting themselves with food after a period of time because they do not acknowledge what is happening. We have a period of time where we can learn and fix this problem and now is that time. So what can you do to cope? Journal...your feelings and whats happening Get professional help if necessary Visit a website called AMIHUNGRY.COM distract your self in any way...read a book...adult coloring...go for a walk...learn a new hobby. Anything that will get your mind off the food. Keep busy during these times. The best thing you can do for your self is recognize the situations. Write them down and learn a new habit. It is the hardest thing we do for ourselves but we habe the opportunity to do it in order to make changes that last for what ever time we have left on this earth.
  9. Today is the first day i can have regular food but soft...no pureed...no liquid! Deli turkey NEVER tasted so good! How is everyone else doing???
  10. Try the syntax nectar bra d of protein shakes. You mix with Water and they have fruit flavored so it is not milky at all. I had the same problem and these are what got me through. You can even buy sample packs so that you can try the flavors. I love the fuzzy navel and the coconut...add a little Dasani pineapple coconut drops and it tastes like pina colada
  11. I am a nurse practitioner and have to ask if your doctor told you to crush Coumadin? I don't think its supposed to crushed and may affect the absorption...
  12. Hello all! VSG on 8/15/16. Doing well finally but it was a rough couple weeks and I totally had buyers remorse for the first 2 weeks due to nausea and reflux. This week everything has finally turned around though. HW-294 SW-281 (8/15/16) CW-266 Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
