  1. I think it is bullshit that when people ask to have their accounts deleted, you don't do it. This site is worthless and I have asked numerous times to have mine removed, this one and another one that I accidentally set up with my Facebook log in and can't even get a response. If I swear enough in this response, would you please do as I ask? Who in the hell do you think you are to not allow people to get off this site? Trust me, you are not helping yourself and it is just false advertising. We should all get together and create a class action lawsuit against your ass!! There was never anything written about not being to delete an account when you sign up.

Absolute crap to run a site like this. Hope you are proud of yourself. Trust me when I say I won't have anything nice to say about it, ever.

  2. It is so interesting to hear everyone's journey. I was sleeved on October 25th and have been feeling the same way. I have lost 32 pounds since surgery but also feel like I am starting my second stall and it has upset me. I work out a lot and feel for all the work I am putting in, I should be doing so much better. We will get through this! My husband keeps reminding me that this is a journey and not a race. And we certainly didn't gain our weight overnight so we won't lose that quickly either.

I am hoping I can practice what I am preaching right now because it is hard!!!

  3. I just bought the gold standard Protein powder myself. it is the regular type not for muscle building per se. i am only a few months out but train really hard doing cross fit and then coming home to jump on my elliptical for another 40 minutes every morning. I feel like I am not losing as fast as i should be and i think part of it is because I am working out so hard and not being able to fuel my workouts appropriately. Will be interested to see what other say.

    Good Luck!

  4. So - maybe this is a dumb question but would like some feedback. My husband and I have a trip planned for next month to Kauai for 10 days. It is the first time I will have an extensive trip since my surgery and I am worried about eating away from home for so long. I am looking into packing some Protein bars and some Protein Drink powders. Thought? How have you guys found a good balance when traveling post op?

  5. Seriously. I was sleeved on a Tuesday, released from hospital on the Thursday, worked from home on Friday and back at the office on Monday. Granted I have a desk job but I was perfectly fine. I am in and out of meetings all day and thought this was a good way to keep my mind occupied. I didn't take any pain meds or nausea once I left the hospital and didn't need them.

  6. I am in. Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks out. Been losing but still want the accountability. I was just writing out my goals for the year. I can certainly make some to do with the challenge but overall, this is what I am planning to accomplish this year.

    · Lose 42 to 57 pounds

    · Lower body fat percent to under 25%

    · Lower BMI to under 28

    · Workout at Boom two times per week

    · Do cardio workout five times per week

    · Complete the Run the year 2017 challenge

    · Complete two half marathons:

    o Dam to Dam – June 3rd

o Des Moines half marathon – October 15th

    · Do at least 30 to 60 minutes of me time per day including:

    o Meditation – 2x per week

    o Yoga – 2x per week

    o Elliptical

    o Rowing

o Weightlifting at home – 3x per week

    o Crossfit 2x per week

    o Personal Training

    o Swimming

    o Walking/Jogging

    · Log all food and drink per day on My Fitness Pal.

    · Use essential oils every day

  7. I set certain milestones that I wanted to hit for the next year. Some were pretty aggressive but proud to announce I hit my first one a week and 2 days faster than planned. I am down 27 pounds from my surgery weight and 52 pounds overall today. More impressive is that I hit it while making Christmas goodies all day yesterday and didn't cheat once! Holiday baking is one of the few Christmas traditions that I keep alive for my mom's memory.

  8. I had my surgery on a Tuesday, was in the hospital for two days, worked from home that Friday and was back at work that Monday. Had no issues either. I am a project manager so have meetings all day but basically a desk job. The first two days were bad due to nausea (which is why I had an extra day in the hospital) but once I realized it was the pain meds, I stopped taking them and didn't have any other issues.

  9. Good question and it is hard! I, too, find myself looking for ways to divert from past triggers and since i love to cook and bake, it is especially hard. My mom was a wonderful cook/baker and making the things she used to make, like christmas candy and Cookies, makes me want to do that as well. Mom has been gone for five years this December 31st so I always associate this time with her. I wish I had the answers on how to combat it but I don't. Just know you are not alone feeling the way you do. I am right there with you.

  10. So I know there are a hundreds of posts on stalls. I am curious to know what variables do people use to determine if they are in fact in a stall. According to the definition of a stall:

stop or cause to stop making progress.
"his career had stalled, hers taken off"
    synonyms: obstruct, impede, interfere with, hinder, hamper, block, interrupt, hold up, hold back,thwart, balk, sabotage, delay, stonewall, check, stop, halt, derail, put a brake on;
    informalstymie
"the government has stalled the project"
stop, fizzle, flatline, die, reach an impasse, hit a roadblock
    "the project has stalled"

I would say the time frame is the key. I know from past experience, that I typically will lose 4-6 pounds then stay steady for a few weeks and then drop again. As I shrink in size, the length of time between drops expands as it takes longer for my body to adjust to the new weight. It seems like on here, if someone doesn't drop weight per day or per week, they think stall. I am just not certain that would qualify as an actual "stall" but I know that is up for interpretation. What do you all think?

  11. So glad you posted this. I was sleeved on the 25th of October and have been feeling a little like I am not doing as well as I could be. My surgery weight was 242 and am now at 222 so right in line with others who were similar to me. I hit a stall right away for two weeks after surgery, lost another six pounds and now feel like I am in another stall! So frustrating!

I have had no issues on advancing food and have had no problems getting in my fluids. I am down a couple sizes going from 18w to 14/16. I was in pretty good shape before I started so my walking doesn't seem as good for my cardio. I go back to my surgeon on Friday and am looking forward to being cleared for regular workouts.

Thanksgiving was a little hard and it is getting worse since my work loves to have food days and treats around all the time. So far I am staying strong but i know it will get worse the closer we get to Christmas. Great job everyone on how well you are doing! Looking forward to getting the updates!

  12. It is amazing how much this surgery can change your life. It has been just four short weeks since my surgery today and my resting heart rate has dropped from mid sixties to high 40 beats per minute. I have lost 19 pounds and dropped a size and a half in clothes. There is a considerable difference in my face, complexion and i feel so good! i have just moved on to soft foods and while there are still some foods that don't go down that well, nothing has made me sick or nauseous, and I am so very glad I had this done. I am no longer considered "morbidly" obese and am fully confident that after a year I will be close to an actual normal BMI. I am so glad I that i did this and know it was the right decision for me.

  13. What are some good ways to deal with all the food and treats being around? All my family know I have had this surgery and am only a month out. Curious to know the best way to plan around the meal, Snacks, treats everyone will have around. I am just now moving to soft foods and can only eat a couple ounces per meal. I have kept to chicken mostly as my main Protein and have just recently added ground beef. Not sure how turkey or ham will go down plus I am scared of all the carbs that are going to be around the table. My mother in law will have the full spread including mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, salads, and of course, pies. My father in law has already given me a hard time due to how little i eat and trust me, he could definitely use this procedure in a major way! LOL.

Anyone have any pointers on the best way to get through the holidays and come out on the other side without going off plan?
