Hi Bella Yes i am still losing but due to some gains I've had in the last year. I am re logging my food and doing a lite workout routine. It's a life long commitment, thats for sure!
Hi Kiap thanks! Thank yoU! I have had a few minimal PSs but no skin removal. Of course I cover the wrinkly skin.. i do have some. I plan to have my bat wings removed and a full body lift someday.

I was advanced to soft foods at around 10 days.
if you do this again you might want to consider something not chicken - something like cottage cheese, or scrambled eggs or refried Beans. Most plans do not have meats until 4 weeks or so.

I'm 2 weeks out. The first 5 days I didn't have much hunger. When I did Water or Crystal Light tool care of it. 2nd week out it began increasing. I'm on 3 shakes (I use premier) a day. I supplement with miso broth and homemade Bone Broth. I also have sugar free ice pops. They were very soothing a few days after surgery and I use them now. I'm hungry but it's really not awful. If I distract myself it gets better( I need to start cleaning the house in those moments)

A little about me. I was sleeved on 9-6-2016. I'm no wordsmith, but I have a gigantic sense of humor that matches the size of my gigantic (but soon to be smaller) hindquarters. I am struggling with cravings and head hunger and need a friend or two to help keep me motivated and accountable. Plus I need someone to laugh at my jokes. No really. Laugh dammit!

I wish you well and a great recovery too.
Ask away, I don't mind at all. Nope, they didn't... I wish they did. I have 7 incisions vs 5 tiny ones from my lapband. My lap band ones disappeared all the way. This time I have railroad tracks (aka staples). I bought some mederma to put on them since they look pretty bad. They seem to be much larger this time around too. I can understand why though, the sleeve is way more invasive than the lap band.

I just feel like maybe I am.in a worse situation . I mean I deal with an anxiety disorder and with the band I wasn't worried or fearful I lived my life normally. With the sleeve I'm scared to eat normal. I have always had issues with food my whole life. I just feel like when I see people they are so happy and my Dr's made it seem like it was the best thing since apple pie. I havent had any complication (knock on wood) but it's scary to me. I feel like i cant even take my capsules medication for my anxiety because something might go wrong. I wish people would have explained the process the emotions and the aftermath. Sometimes I feel alone with all this because no one knows I had it done except a couple people.

I'm 42 and I am so happy about my choice two years ago. Two years have passed and I'm still a work in progress which actually keeps me motivated to continue. I'm down 125 lbs and want so badly to get what I thought was going to be a Tummy Tuck has turned into a body lift. Oh well it's all worth it. Lose skin is not fun. I need it gone I am a size 8-10 depending on the brand ms I was told with a body lift I would be a 6. Not that clothes size matters in this journey but I don't ever remember being a 6. Lol !!

The question is: Can you maintain the loss without the sleeve? For me, I couldn't lose weight period. I got under 200 using hypnosis, but even with weight watchers I struggled to get to 200 and my weight crept up again quickly. I had a raging hunger that I could not control. Over three years out and more than two years at goal and I have no regrets.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone experiences stalls and slow downs in weight loss. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. Almost everyone experiences a stall about three weeks post-op.
    Just follow your program.
Focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids.
Avoid starches, added sugars, and fried food.
Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed.
    Exercise when cleared.
Stay off the scale if you let it bother you.
    And, embrace the stall!

Thank you gals so much for taking the time to read my sad plea (lol) and respond. It means a lot and has really helped me to understand more what my body is going through. It's also hard when my family and friends cannot relate. They are very loving and supportive - but they don't understand the struggle. It's nice to have this forum as a sounding board and support as well. Have a great week ladies!!!

Well stop for a min and think about it....you lived on liquids which by nature more than likely threw your body into starvation mode. That takes awhile to do. Now you've reintroduced foods. Your body being in starvation mode is going to grab onto that food and store it! You just starved it. It's the body's way of protecting itself from the next starvation. You can thank your caveman brothers for that! It's the bodies survival mode. You would be thankful for it had you really had the threat of starving to death. Anyway. You're also recovering. Give your body a chance to catch up. You knew you were having surgery, your body not so much. It's in shock! Give yourself time to adjust. Do what your plan says to do. Stay off the scale for awhile! You will drive yourself nuts! Just stay on the Drs plan. It will work. It takes time, lots of time. Breathe.......This coming from a chick that's been there. Check out those stats below. WINK!!!

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! I am 47 and I wished my insurance would have paid for it 12 years ago so that I could have enjoyed life a lot more. I missed doing the little things like crossing my legs, getting up and down with my grandkids, not wearing bathing suit in public or shorts.... the list goes on. There are many many surgeons that perform this type of surgery and I would not waste another day on this physician. I only wished I had done this years ago. I have now lost 75lbs and I feel AMAZING!!! I never get tired of hearing how great I look. I love going places again with my husband. Good luck and enjoy life!

If 100percent regain is what his patients experience I would be thankful for the info and seek a surgeon with a better track record.
Yes, some regain happens, maintenance takes diligence. I lost 150# and have been maintaining. My sleeve was Dec 2011 - 4 1/4 years ago. I'll let everyone know where I am at 5years post op in Dec.

Hi! I'm 6 weeks post op now, but i had the same thoughts for the last 2 weeks before surgery. I was terrified, and unsure if im doing the right thing. However, it was just cold feet. I went through with it, and although it's hard work, im very glad i did. 32 lbs down and developing good habits..
    Good luck to you!

I had the lap band surgery in 2012. I told my parents, two or three close friends and my husband. Eventually my mom told my grandmas and some cousins and I was mad for a while. I have decided to have the sleeve in a few months and I have decided to not tell a soul, except my husband. Eventually, I'll tell people. But since the band failed me, or I failed the band, I'm hoping the sleeve will work and j won't be embarrassed to tell people. It's your choice. If you don't want people to know, then you won't say anything. But deep down, if you do want people to know, you'll tell than. Good luck
