I have been following this thread for a long time and never said anything, honestly I was hoping that people would stop responding to Gina's obvious desire for attention and stop posting but daily I keep coming back and seeing this ridiculous thread on the board.
Gina is clearly very mentally ill and clearly needs some help to address her issues as she obviously has a strong desire for negative attention.
The bottom line is both Gina and SilverWhiteMoon character show two very important things, a lack of knowledge prior to the surgery which in spite of not being told by their doctors they could have easily learned all their misgivings in one single Internet search so I'm not really buying the whole I researched the surgery line. And 2) they are both still very early post op and therefore not qualified to say much about the quality of life forever postoperative VSG
Furthermore as far as Gina just wanting to get the word out about what could happen and wanting people to rethink the surgery I actually think in your mentally ill way you are harming people and possibly deterring people from having a life saving procedure. The complications that you suffered are so very rare that they barely warrant a side note and we have Already established that things may not be from the surgery but more from an incompetent staff that performed your surgery. The fact of the matter is your situation is just to rare to warrant this much attention it certainly shouldn't take up twenty some odd pages on this message board, it's gone too far. You have taken it to far now. Stop now. Stop deterring people from this procedure based I. Your unfortunate choice in a Bariatric team.
And people is she doesn't stop, then for the love of god just stop posting on this thread, let it die and stop giving this mentally ill woman attention.

    Damnrite !!!
Finally....having a penis matters in something significant. Heck yes.....bring it !!!
I've found that one thing really seems to be universal among all the wls patients, both with and without a penis, is that we tend to lose more in that first post op month if we had good momentum going into the surgery. Our bodies are flushing out the Water weight and the post-op inflammation more quickly. Just my broscience theory.......

Well I never did, and I started at a very high BMI and followed an extremely strict post-op regimen to the letter. The most I ever lost in a month was 20 lbs, and that was one time at the very beginning.
I still managed to lose over 200 lbs and go from a 6X to a 6. Hang in there and focus on the long game, not what the scale said yesterday or what it might say tomorrow. You can control what you eat, how much exercise you get, and your stress and sleep levels (both important for weight loss). But you can't control exactly how the scale responds to that. The sooner you give up expectations of seeing losing x pounds per month, the happier and less stressed out you will be. Good luck!

wlssuccess got a reaction from Hopefully A Butterfly in Sleeved 2 years ago, thinking of D/S. Any here go to Mexico?
I just converted my sleeve to the SADI-S in Mexico on 8/11/16. And yes, it cost a lot less and I was scared shirtless because of that. But thankfully all went really well, I got great care, and now 8 days later I'm home and down 12lbs- which I'm still in shock from. Because like u, before the revision I tried my damn seat to lose my regain naturally and like u I had the nerve to gain weight on a 800 calorie/day diet! I was sooo pissed and honestly concerned that meant this revision would not work. Who knows what tomorrow holds, I'm still terrified of regain and/or not losing. I don't think I'll really believe it's working until I'm back down to my old goal weight.

    Yes it probably was me.
When losing weight it is important to slowly build and adjust your calories as you get closer to goal.
The aim is to increase it as you lose weight to enable you to maintain at a reasonable amount, this way your metabolism functions properly when you are further out.
Reality is that we need calories to function, our organs need a surprisingly large amount just for basic function.
Having them low long-term can cause a number of health issues because of this.
I was the same as you, i could eat like a rabbit and exercise like an athlete only to lose a couple of pounds. What i have learnt is that i was doing things in extreme, and the body doesn't like that.
I found the key is to eat well majority of the time and to keep exercise moderate, 3-5 days, 3 days of higher intensity (actual work out, cardio, resistance training, weight training) & 2 days low intensity (long walks, swim at the beach, bike ride or other social type exercise that gets you off your bum).
The more moderate approach worked much better, my body didn't panic and wasn't over exerted and wasn't stressed at the fact i was over exercising.

If you researched so long and thoroughly how did none of these potential complications arise in your pre op stage that you claimed happened 4 years ago and up until your surgery? Nausea and diarrhea are two of the most common side effects of this surgery and is not really considered a complication by any means. Having those common side effects in addition to your IBS diagnosis I would have no doubt in my research and mind that I would experience n/v/d for a while post surgery....
Antibiotics are very effective in treating most cases of C. diff, that I'm sorry you have that's no fun but antibiotics tend to clear the infection. I work in a hospital and have seen hundreds of people acquire it over the years and not one has ever had to have a fecal transplant or a colostomy for it like you mentioned earlier, so there is hope for you there! But I do sympathize with you on this one no one is expecting c diff and unfortunately if not treated properly can lead to death. Let's pray your antibiotic regime does the trick!
I know you posted about your gall bladder too going bad. Again, I knew doing my research that it was a strong possibility that I will have to eventually get gall bladder removed; 1/3 WLS patients have to. That's an astonishingly high number. Any time with rapid weight loss and low calories your cholesterol breaks down into your blood and over accumulation develops into gall stones. Very common in WLS patients unfortunately. Being a female and over 40 are two more risk factors so if you have all 3 of those your risk goes up significantly!
I wish you a speedy recovery, your not that far out...keep looking at the big picture once all these (some expected some not so expected) side effects and complications work themselves out!

wlssuccess got a reaction from Alex Brecher in Just converted my Sleeve to the SADI-S and have millions of questions....
I was originally sleeved 9/2010 and lost 105. The past 2 years I regained about 40 of those pounds and was just not okay with it. On 8/11/2016 I had the intestinal portion of the SADI-S completed- my sleeve was still in good shape and needed no revision.
I'm now 8 days post-op from my SADI-S Revision and down 12 pounds (I know, holy crap). Because previously I had the sleeve, that is the only reference I have to go on in terms of what to expect post-op. However, it's become clear to me that this "intestinal" revision is NOTHING like getting sleeved. I have NO issues with drinking, swallowing, topping off, or stomach restriction associated pains. I do seem sensitive to some things, like drinks or food that have sugar added, but it's still too early for me to know all the likely sensitivities. Also I've only had 2 pooty bouts, and yes, quite a bit of flatulence. And this is part of that unknown for me.
What gives u gas? How many calories should I be consuming? What's gonna make me pooty, or throw up, or have horrible diarrhea? Does the gas/pooty/diarrhea happen right after I eat something or does it take a few hours, a day? Should I be focusing on fats as well as Proteins? Someone I follow on YT said they eat an avg of 3000 cals a day? Is that just for DS, that's what she had, is that for all DS? What foods should I avoid like the plague? Anyone else have the revision done with no change to their sleeve? How did u deal with that mentally, that everything is pretty much the same as before u went into surgery? How much should I be eating? Any daily caloric goal I should be reaching for? What happens when I do transgress and eat a sandwich with the bread, or 4 fries outta my daughters Wendy's bag? How's my body gonna react?
Sorry y'all, I know I really went on, but this is soooo not like my VSG that it's just left me at a loss. I don't know what to expect or anticipate anymore. Thanks ahead for any advice u share.

Wait, 9 weeks out and this much regret? You are putting a whole bunch of stock in what is just a small adjustment period.
Sad that in two years you didn't take the time to learn that the first 6 months are an adjustment, and then generally things go back to normal.
I'm 5 years out, I eat quickly, I drink coffee (and tea), I eat meat and salad, I've gotten used to not drinking with my meals and learned that if I want results I have to approach life a certain way.
Seems like you did a lot of "research" and very little listining.
And I died, twice, from complications from my Lap Band, had a feeding tube for months, still have residual issues.
You may have been cleared for surgery, but you were obviously in no way prepared.

Incredible!! I have written my later posts to you trying to placate u. You pick it apart as well as others posts & slam us. You know what "Christian lady", you need to get off this site as you are nothing but mean & don't care about what anyone says, only about attacking a sentence or 2 that does not give the gist of what we are saying. I agree....stop you boohooing & get off this site, if you don't want anyone to say anything to u. You are exhausting & negative no matter what anyone says...& u can't be that busy as I look at all your posts on here & there r quite a few. I am going to do myself a favour & unsubscribe from yur post as I hope everyone else does. You may as well be talking to yourself as u don't READ what others are saying. Good luck with yourself.
