  1. I would call the doctor. If you are diabetic you don't want to mess up your levels. They may modify your diet.
  2. He went for a fill a couple of months ago. It did not help. I look for him to get gastric bypass next year. His insurance does not cover WLS or fills since he became self employed. Yeah, his BIL talked him into trying out in San Antonio. He has been posting comments all morning........stuff I can't put on this thread. It is hillarious.
  3. Janet, I feel your pain.........I had a similar experience when I retired. Anyway, CONGRATS! for thirty loyal years. Well, my son is trying out for Biggest Loser today. Yeah, obesity is a family thing. He was banded two years ago and lost 120lbs and has gained it all back. He never followed up on his fills and did not have a support system. Our family has that addiction gene. My poor babies got it from both of us. They are in their thirties, and now their metabolisms are slowing down. I don't know if they will accept him with a band.
  4. Good to hear from you. Wow! you have a lot of fill. I know, when I needed an unfill.........I was miserable. Pb'ing all the time. Now I am trying to build back. I go on the 29th hopefully for my last fill for awhile. I too, hope to have reached goal by the end of next year.
  5. I am here. I am just waiting for my ticker to move so I will have something to shout about. I think our July Butterflies have flown to other threads. If you read this........Butterflies check in!
  6. I was considering WW until the doctor's office called this morning with a surgery date for DH. He is getting gastric bypass next Wednesday. We will just support one another for now.
  7. Thanks! I am so glad he was able to get in next week. I think you might ought to watch the spicey stuff. I noticed that when I eat spicey stuff gas builds in my stomach and I feel stuck. I have to stop eating till I burp. I found taking pepcid in the morning helps.
  8. I think quite a few of us are struggling. My doctor wants me to eat a half a cup of food six times a day totalling 800calories. I eat 1200 calories a day. I haven't reached that "sweet spot" yet. I too, had an unfill in April. It was a struggle. Now, I have half of it back and will get more on the 29th. The best way to keep going down is journal and exercise. We are slow losers at our age, but I believe we can get to our goal. I have allowed myself 2-3yrs to get there. Hang In There!
  9. Doctor Davis' office just called.......DH surgery is next Wednesday. They had a cancelation so he got the spot. So, his liquid diet starts tomorrow. Yeah, Janet, the Lifestyle lift without lipo or eyes is 4,000. Not bad. Now, you are awake. They numb your face with shots. My friend said the ones around the eyes sting. Long, please stay away from BEARS this weekend! PJ.........I am so glad you are better.
  10. With shrimp........chew,chew,chew,......I pb'd on shrimp more than once. I don't eat it anymore. It is one of my favorite foods.
  11. Janet.........I took my friend to her follow up after the Lifestyle lift. She is doing good. It took care of her turkey neck and the lines caused by 122lb weight loss in 10 mos. I think it looks natural. She also had her eyes done too and lipo in her neck. It was 7100 total. The doctor said it takes three mos. for her to really see the results. I might check into it after I lose the rest of my weight. Thanks for the WW advice. I am seriously considering joining. That is the only diet I have ever lost on. Yeah, the point system can get out of hand. Last time I went they had a low carb diet too. I just need to be accountable to someone that will weigh me once a week. Also, I have a friend that just joined and she needs a buddy. Yep, I am eating too many carbs. Dr. Davis called today and said his assistant will be calling with a new surgery date for DH. I am ready to get this journey going for the two of us. We are going to Hawaii in December for our 40th aniversary.
  12. Julie, I will be praying for you and your surgeon. Please keep us informed on your recovery. I am so sorry you have to go through all of this. Take Care!
  13. Thanks Joann for the info. I had never heard about the set point theory. Very Interesting. I will google the set point diet. I was at this weight for about five years , so maybe I will be here for a few more weeks. I hope it is a plateau I am on.
  14. Janet..........just checking in. DH was cleared for surgery.....now he needs a date. As for me, well I am somewhat discouraged. I haven't lost in months. I think I need help. Do you think I would benefit from WW? I can't go to support groups. They are downtown Houston at night, and I don't drive the freeways at night. Got any ideas?
  15. Yep, I have only lost one lb since April. I don't know what the problem is. I did have a cortisone shot in April, but I don't think that is the problem. I just can't seem to get back on track. I have even thought I need to join WW. I need someone to answer to every week. Got any ideas?
  16. Amen, sister! Move! Move! Move! or your ticker won't move. As you can see I have only walked once in two weeks due to a cold I had and this 100+ weather. It rained today and cooled off a little. NO EXCUSES FOR ME!
  17. Google "Five Day Pouch Test" ....you can print it out. I think it is one or two days of protein shakes then soft protein then hard protein. It helps you to get back to basics and restart your weight loss.
  18. Congrats on you Bandiversary! I am glad you are doing better. Today starts a whole new year. I hope you do better this year!
  19. Congrats! To all July Butterflies............Awesome Weight Loss!
  20. Good for you! Every day is a new day to get back on the bandwagon. I think seeing the doctor is a good idea. You have lost alot of weight......own it....be proud!
  21. Lori, CONGRATULATIONS! What an awesome accomplishment. I got a fill today......... a .3cc We will see, It may be all I need to get the ball rolling again. Also, my cold is finally gone so I can start walking in the 100 degree weather. Yea! All of you getting rain...........send some our way! Heck I think I would take a tropical depression right now.
  22. Where did you get the cookbook? I just love new recipes. I just got a .3cc fill..........I hope it curbs my appetite.
