  1. Kimaly, good to hear from you. What do you think is going on? I wonder if everyone slows down after about eight months. Well, I know my prob....too many calories and the hot weather. I started journaling again and I was eating about 1500-1700 calories. Also the warm weather makes me retain fluid....about 2 lbs in spring and summer. Well, I am going to keep journaling and maybe things will change soon. I am eating 1200 calories now.
  2. Checking in...........no, the ticker didn't move yet. Let's all keep in touch. We only have six weeks or less till our bandiversary. Let's don't poop out yet!
  3. OUCH!!!! How painful! Please take care. Yep, I think the cortisone caused the swelling which caused the stomach problems. Yes, Orea...........praying for your husband's job prospect. Sounds promising!
  4. What did you have done.........your arms?
  5. What has happened? Do we all have lap band fatigue? I am still plugging away at this journey , but it is tough with this unfill. I AM HUNGRY! I go next week for a small fill. My stomach feels better though. OKAY, bandsters, CHECK IN! We can't do this alone.
  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We missed you. I am so glad you had a great time.
  7. Charlene so anitbiotic help that ?? I thought it was aggrevated by the foods you ate and stress.. My Aunt has major colon problems - she was in the hospital back in the 70's for a month - I think she had surgery - but now she has major pain and has problems in that area.. Ya it will be great when your DH and you are on this journey together - and all that $$$ saved will be fantastic. __________________ Yes, antibiotics help if there is infection. There must be infection because I am feeling better. Also, I think it was caused by those wonderful chocolate dusted almonds I was eating everyday for a snack. I thought I was chewing them good, but evidentally not that good. They are on my no no list now. Barb, I had an epidural cortisone injection near the spine. It usually lasts for a year. Beats back surgery, but I know one day they will quit working. Hopefully, by then I will have reached my weight loss goal. Beware, if you get a cortisone shot it does slow down weight loss. I thought staying tight can harm your esophagus. Can it cause reflux?
  8. Good Evening! Janet, I am still having symptoms of diverticulitis so I started on antibiotics today. I just don't want to get ill over the weekend. That coupled with the unfill is helping. Last time I got this feeling I had a ct scan and the dr said it was adhesions. So, it could be that again. Yes, I do think getting a lap band made my husband want to get WLS. He has already had his knees replaced, and his back is in bad shape. We should hear something next week. It will be so nice to be on the same page when it comes to food choices. And when we go out to eat, we can share a plate. Our grocery bill will be cut in half.
  9. The PA took out I think half of a cc. She said it should relieve the symptoms. I feel alot better tonight. I go back in two weeks for a fill. My Dh should be approved next week for gastric bypass. I hope he is scheduled in June. I checked on the Aetna website and I don't think they pay for gastric sleeve yet. I have Aetna and I hope they approve it.
  10. I went to the Dr today and instead of getting a fill I got an unfill. I have been sliming everytime I eat. The PA said the tissue was swollen due to the cortisone shot I got a month ago. I think she took out a half cc.
  11. Janet, I just got back from Dr. Davis. The PA took out .6cc. She put a needle in and that is how much came up in the needle. I don't know how she does it, but she can tell. She said tissue is swollen from the cortisone shot. I will go back in two weeks for a fill. Oh, guess what? Insurance companies are starting to pay for gastric sleeve. I talked to a woman that works for the government and she was getting a sleeve. Then the PA told me that ins is starting to pay. That will be a good alternative if I have complications down the road.
  12. Barb, diverticulitis is an infection of the diverticuli in the colon. I have had it several times. I had two colon resections because of it. So, I get freaked when I get that feeling that my colon is slowing down. I also have a choking feeling in my throat. All of this could be from being tight. The weather started getting up to the 90's last week and I started retaining fluid which probably could have caused the tightness. I will get some answers on thursday. Thanks for the info. I am eating mushies and drinking lots of water and shakes.
  13. AWESOME WEIGHT LOSS! How many calories do you eat in a day? I need a jump start. Just wanted to know what you eat in a typical day.
  14. Okay, I think I might be too tight. I can hardly eat in the morning. I slime everytime I eat protein. My real concern is my colon. I feel like I am getting diverticulitis. I am taking Miralax everyday, but my colon seems to be shutting down. I have an appointment with Dr. Davis on thursday. I don't need a fill , but I might need an unfill.
  15. I know it is hard. My friend and I had WLS at the same time. I had the band and she had gastric bypass. She has lost 115lbs and doesn't journal her food or exercise. Me.....I journal and walk 30 minutes a day, and I struggle with weight loss. It is slow and steady. We will get there. If you will go on the pouch test you will jump start your weight loss. You can google "pouch test" to get it.
  16. Donna and Orea...........where are you????? How is is going? Miss ya!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I decided to do that tape one day when I was at my heaviest weight. Needless to say it was a disaster. I herniated two disks. Now, I have to get shots for pain and take therapy. No, that tape is not for sissies or the out of shape.
  18. I hope all of you have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I hope all of you have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!
  20. JULIE, HAPPY ANIVERSARY! Janet, nothing new to report.....just busy babysitting. My DIL is in the hospital again with kidney stones. Babysitting a 1 month old keeps you from eating. I am going to weigh in a few days. Long, have fun on your cruise!
  21. Cynthia.......good hearing from you, but my goodness, you have been through alot of stuff. You have done well with your weight loss considering you have not had much of a fill. Take care! Prayers and Hugs for you!
  22. How is everybody doing? Me.........well, one day good, another day bad. I didn't even weigh today. I am scheduled for another fill on the 14th. If I don't get my act together I don't know if I will go. I hope all of you Butterflies check in.
