  1. Jessica.......glad you stayed on your pre op diet. I can't believe they did not give you your scripts. Maybe they can call in your scripts before you leave the hospital.
  2. Cheri, so much of what you said about my mom and sisters strikes very true. I appreciate what you wrote and have been kindda proceeding that way and I am noticing a little difference in mom's reactions. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. Sounds like you had a great day with the grandkids. Lori, that was such good advice. You remember my friend that got WLS the same time I did only she got bypass. Well, since she lost 120lbs she is not a very nice person. She doesn't want to have much to do with me. Well, I have quit calling her. I only text her . We only see each other about twice a month. She is very judgemental of people who are obese. Kinda like those that quick smoking and can't stand to be around those that do. I thought her losing weight would make her happy. Instead, she is very unhappy. Anyway, Cheri's advice was good for me too. My New Year's resolution is to leave her alone. Don't expect her to be happy for me, or check on me, or to even "Be there" for me. It is just not in her DNA to be that way. She is toxic to my life. It is what it is. Thanks, Cheri, for the advice you gave Lori. I took it all in.
  3. Oh yeah...ate nothing but crap today and thus feel like crap tonight. Was fun though! Me too!!!!...........and it was fun!!!!!!!! And I don't fill like crap.........but I feel bloated like a toad! Does that make sense? Cheri ..........sounds like some awesome toys you got the kids. I love old fashioned toys especially wooden toys. I gave my two grandbabies wooden puzzles this year. 1 day.........I am glad you are okay. Okay, Good night all! I am watching A Christmas Story for the first time.
  4. Just checking in........we had an awesome Christmas. We only did Christmas gifts for the grand kids this year. It was so nice to just sit and watch the grand kids open their gifts. DH and I were surprised with gift certificates for our 40th Anniversary (Dec. 20th). One was for a fancy steak house and another for massages and facials. Woohoo! The kids also had a cake decorated in red roses. It had a cream cheese filling. I only had a small piece and left the rest at my DD's. Okay, now, eating sliders is over! I am not going to weigh for a week. Oh, Apples, Dr Oz was on tv today with a woman that had lost 200lbs. She showed some of the foods she ate and she eats steel cut oats. Dr. Oz says they are the best.
  5. Just a quick fly by.......the pizza guy was just random. We had never seen him before. I think he was from Pizza Hut. We had two more services. We have so many pizza places I am sure they called Dominos or Papa John's for the next services. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall at Pizza Hut when he returned. He was so emotional that I am sure he really needed the money for his family. Okay, Merry Christmas again!
  6. Well, the front is moving in...........everything in my body hurts. It was a rough night. The rain and wind knocked out my Christmas Lights. I will just have to get up and keep moving. Lori, I hope you have a Merry Christmas! I have to be with my sister too. She is proud of my weight loss, but we have other issues. We will clear the air one day, but not till my mother is gone as she is too frail to handle it. Apples, stay warm and well. Janet, thanks for all you do to keep us on this journey. Thanks to all of you for all the warm wishes and support. I love you guys! Okay, Gang, probably won't check in until after Christmas. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas!
  7. We just got back from our Christmas Eve Eve service. It was candlelight service. We sang carols and the most awesome thing happened. The first of the service the pastor took up a collection, and said we would see later what the money was for. Then in the middle of the service a pizza guy was escorted into the church to deliver a pizza to the pastor. He asked how much he owed and then what a usual tip would be. Then instead of the usual two bucks he normally gets for a tip the pastor handed him the money he had collected. It was 485.00! The pizza guy thanked him and was very emotional. The purpose was to show the Grace of God by giving us His Son. Of course, I got all emotional. Anyway, just wanted to share. I was proud of myself for eating one cookie......and believe me there were dozens of plates of all kind of sweets. Making Taco soup.......then back to baking. Take care all!
  8. Girl, I keep it all on hand. I have suppositories for vomiting and Levsin for IBS. Have you been around the people that are sick. Well, stay away from the sick! I am off to get my hair colored and trimmed. It looks like a mop. Later !
  9. Heck, I need both of you. Okay, who had the crushed oreo package with cream cheese? I bought the stuff. Now, I need the recipe. I might have to go to cooks.com
  10. Cheri, I hope the best for you during the holidays. I can relate to some of your experiences, but we as christians can fill our hearts with Christ, and move through difficult times touching those who need to experience true love.I agree with you in scripture. Janet, I hope you make it through today will so little sleep. Knowing you...........you will run five miles today and feel great. Apples, why don't I fly you down here next Christmas and you can do all my cooking. lol. I need oraginzational skills like you. I still want to be your neighbor! Lori, take care of yourself. I saw on the news... you are going to get a lot of snow. BRRRRRRRRR! We are just going to get rain and cold, but it should be good for Christmas. Okay LBT Gang, I gotta get busy baking. I hope all of you have a great day!
  11. Phyl, Awesome Decor! We used candles last year, but I do think it is a fire hazard especially when the church is packed. We celebrate Christmas Eve Eve on the 23rd. We will have the Lord's Supper. When I grew up I was a Catholic and I went to Midnight Mass. Boy, Apples, you really started us on a walk down memory lane. Thanks! PJ, glad you are checking in. Janet............WHERE ARE YOU? or did I miss that post?
  12. Well, I do. I have only lost half my weight. So, this year I will work towards the last half. It has taken me 18months to start eating slower. Yes, Great...........you are doing TOO MUCH! Slow down or you are going to have problems. Let your family pamper you and give you a Merry Christmas. Yep, I even remember the check... she wrote it out to Santa. Don't remember how much though. The two things I remeber getting at Christmas were the first Barbie in the striped bathing suit, and a Betsy Wetsy. Boy, I am old!
  13. Girl, you look FABULOUS!
  14. Bored..........and well fed? Good thing you have a band. That is how I got so fat!
  15. Apples, yep, she had to come up with an excuse as to why she had to stay. I used it on my kids a few times...........they bought it too. Oh, I hope all of you are prepared for the new snow. Stay off the roads. What am I saying?........of course you are prepared, and probably have enough provisions for all of your neighbors.
  16. Oh Apples, just saw the weather report. You and all of you north of Texas are going to have snow for Christmas Eve.........and a lot of it!
  17. When I was a kid my parents did the same thing. My dad would take us looking at lights while my mom would write out a check to Santa and wait for him to arrive. We bought it hook, line, and sinker. We would come home an hour or so later and all the toys would be under the tree. Then we opened gifts too. Then when I married and had children we waited for Santa for Christmas Day, but we opened gifts on Eve. When my kids suspected there wasn't a Santa I told them that when they no longer believed Santa wouldn't come......so the believed for a long, long time. I told my grandkids the same thing. So, that tradition continues. The spirit of Santa lives on.
  18. Apples, we had traditions years ago, but as the family has grown to 25plus......we do good to just make sure we get together at Christmas. My mother always made all of us cheese balls and chex mix for Christmas. Now, I do it. I swore last year I wasn't going to make it, but my kids look forward to it as one of their gifts. We always had Christmas on Christmas Eve, but as the kids divorced, now we settled on the one day no one wants........Christmas Day! It's ALL GOOD! We are Blessed!
  19. Joiful, sounds like you not only have a defective band , but you are under a lot of stress. It is really hard to lose under those conditions. I hope you can get your band problem solved. I am so sorry you mother has dementia. I took care of my aunt with dementia for five years. Everyday was a new day. One day she knew me, the next she thought she was back in the forties and I was my mother. It is tough. I am the one with Fibromyalgia. Now, who do I go to for treatment with light? When the weather changes, I hurt so bad. The weather has been warmer and sunny so the last two days have been great. I hope it stays this way through Christmas. I am starting on a medication this weekend that is supposed to help.
  20. it is our year for goal! Go 2010!
  21. Janet........I have an embroidery/sewing machine. Just still have two more names.......I got hung up on one of my Christmas Movie favorites. Great news on the knee. I hope you stay pain free.
  22. Janet...........just checking in. I broke down and made Texas Trash (chex mix) for the kids. Then I made a new mix on the back of the Cinamon Chex. It is 100cal a serving. I made it in the microwave and it was good stuff. Snickerdoodle Mix. Hopefully, I can start walking again. The weather finally has cleared. What was our rain is now snow on the east coast. I hear Florida is getting the rain too. Lori, I am glad you are home and doing good. Sometime when you itch it is the medication. If you don't feel right be sure and call the doctor. Okay, back to sewing. My daughter and I have embroidered names on a dozen bath sheets and put ribbon on them and the washcloths. She is putting them with shower gel for her neices and nephews. How I got hooked into this........well.........you know"MOM can you help me"? I have enjoyed the bonding, and teaching her how to sew. Not to mention it keeps my mind off of FOOD. Okay, Gang, Take Care!
  23. Thanks for the info. I went to the dr this past week and got a script for Savella. I decided to start it after Christmas because I did not want to deal with side effects and stress at the same time. I went to Hawaii two weeks ago and when I got into the 80 degree weather I did not have aching. It was so nice. I did have IBS in the high altitude plane ride, but I had Levsin to control it. I hope we keep this thread going because I need support. This stuff makes me crazy. I am tired of complaining to family in friends. I hope all of you have a Pain Free Christmas. Merry Christmas!
  24. woohoo for you! Merry christmas!!!!!!!!!!
  25. Girl, you just work on getting that knee healed. My husband was not hungry after his surgery and lost 40lbs. You will do fine. Your body is used to eating small amounts. Still praying for your recovery. Take Care! HUGS!
