This is my fifth day on Savella. I have been a little nauseated, and my heart rate a little high, but my pain is subsiding. I slept all night , and when I woke up this morning only my hands ached. Yay! My doctor wrote me a script for 100mg a day . I am sensitive to meds so I went on line and got info on starting it. I started taking 12.5mg twice a day....now I am taking 25mg twice a day and next week I will go to 100mg. Heck, I may not need that much. Time will tell. Props for all of you that have endured this problem for so many years. I think I would have gone nuts. I was taking Flexeril when the pain was bad. I can't take hydrocodone . I took it after my last abdominal surgery(not banding) and got a bowel obstruction. It tends to slow everthing down on me. Take care! I really appreciate your pain now that I have it too. I have friends with Fibro , but I should have been more sympathetic. I will from now on.

Janet.....checking in......nothing new to report except I think this medicine is working on my pain. I haven't got back in my walking routine because it is so FREAKIN COLD!!!!!!!! and getting colder....20's this weekend. I saw QVC selling some additions to the wii fit. I may break that out for the winter weather. I took QVC off my favorites, but I just love to buy from them. I have a steam mop coming and the cookbook "Skinny Girl Cookbook". DH has lost 80lbs. OKay, I can't let him weigh less than me! IT'S ON!

Great, He was just walking and fell on unlevel ground. The top part of the knee got loose. I think it was maybe four years after it was replaced. Well, I guess I spoke too soon on the medicine. I have been up all night with aches, but it is not as bad as before. The weather is changing today. Apples, -11 degrees this morning in your neck of the woods....BRRRRRRRR! We are at 47 today, but will be 24 by Friday......not looking forward to this week's weather.

I started on the Savella.....so far so good. Less pain, less IBS. My band is tighter and that is a good thing. I did start at a low dose of 12.5mg. I will build up to 100mg. The recommended dosage was on the internet. Happy New Year to All! Lets make 2010 our Goal Year! And for you who have reached it.......CONGRATS!

Well, I started on the Savella yesterday. My doctor just gave it to me and told me the daily dosage, but I went on the internet and got the recommended dosage to start. I have not had side effects to speak of other than I don't hurt as bad. I had a little IBS yesterday, but nothing compared to the last few months. I am just taking 25mg a day right now and will increase to 50mg in a couple of days. Yesterday I only took 12.5mg. I am hoping the slow increase will eliminate the side effects. I did notice my band is a little tighter. That is good. I won't need to go get a fill for awhile. Happy New Year to all of you! I hope your pain is less this year.

Apples, what size pan do you use for your mash potatoes? Lori, you are doing too much.....take care of yourself so you don't have to repeat that knee. My DH has already had a revision on one of his knees and it is just as bad as a complete replacement. Well, I started that new medication for Fibromyalgia yesterday and I already feel better. I hurt just a little this morning, but my IBS is better. I hope I can take this stuff. I am very sensitive to most medications. Okay, gang, have a great new day! Janet, I did not see that you had lost a love one.....sorry for your loss. Great, It is so sad to lose a love one on Christmas. Even though we grieve over the loss, we know it is a Homegoing and the angels are rejoicing. Peas, yep, it's coming. The cold front is here in Texas and it is COLD! We are having cold weather all week. Not complaining to you up North.....I count my blessings that cold for us is 39.

JB.....everyday is a start over for me. Like the holidays.....I just did not weigh....then a few days ago I got on the scales......yep, I am up 4-5lbs. So, it doesn't matter if it is 4 or 40......"one day at a time". You and I can do this. I must say though that I believe had I not stayed with the LBT support I would have completely fallen off the wagon. Thanks gang, for the support!

Lori, read Phil 3:12 NIV Well, they are showing all the WLS shows on the Discovery Health. I just noticed that DR. Garth's head nurse is on another weight loss show. He must have hired her from that clinic. Also they put back Dr. Davis' shows on Wednesday nights. I still haven't heard if they are going to have any new episodes. I need to go see him in February for a check up and I will ask him.

Hi LoveG, ...........so sorry to hear of all your problems , but I can relate. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. When the weather changes I have pain everywhere including my adhesions around my band and port. I don't want surgery either, but I think I should have had a gastric sleeve because I think this band may have contributed to the FM. I have found that taken a 5mg of Flexeril muscle relaxer gives me more relief than anything. I only take it about about three nights a week. I am starting on Savella tomorrow which is kind of a anti depressant. I know several people that take Cymbalta for pain and it works very well. I don't know if this new medicine will work, but I do know this pain is taking a toll on my emotions and I am becoming depressed. Keep looking for a doctor that will work with you. I hope you don't need surgery for awhile. I hope you have a better year than the last. Happy New Year!

Janet, my pain issues were doing good the last couple of days, but we are going to get rain and the ol IBS has come by for a visit. I will start that new medicine on New Years. I don't think Houston will get snow, but Dallas will get it.

I haven't started the Savella......going on it New Years. I have never had a migraine....my head is the only thing that doesn't hurt. I don't have bruising. I mainly flare up when the weather changes which is every other day in Houston. Today is a good day, but rain is expected tomorrow. Happy New Year All!

Linda, glad you are doing so well. Apples, how are you feeling today? Lori, how is it going with your new knee? Well, I got rid of the sweets, but my eating habits are not back in gear. I am snacking(cheese) to much. Gonna start working on that today and start back walking.

You have my sympathy BIG TIME. My DIL suffers with them and she looks terrible when she is in so much pain. One guy told me that drinking beer helps. Is that true? I guess you can get drunk and it lessens the pain while flushing your kidneys. Anyway, I hope you get relief soon. HUGS!

Black eye peas are our tradition. If we don't babysit the grandkids, we just watch a movie or play games. We never stay up till midnight. It is always midnight somewhere..........right? Okay, I just got rid of the cheesecake. Sweet-free zone right now.

DS#2 is going to drive me crazy with incessant phone calls for the last month beggin for money! Says if we don't pay for his motel bill tonight he & his girlfriend will be sleeping in a tent in the snow tonight! UGH! __________________ Phyl, I can relate...........my DS#2 is like that. He is the one with the most kids. We quit talking to him for about a year and somehow it cured him. He hasn't asked for money in about two years. Apples I hope you have a Merry Christmas today!
