I hear a lot of you saying low fat cottage cheese and low fat other things. I have learned that the reduced fat and low fat are worse for you because it contains more carbs then the full version. They take the fat out and add carbs for taste. I eat whole fat everything, cheese, butter, sour cream, cream cheese, mayo, salad dressing. I only look at sugar and carb content! My Nutritionist said to never eat baby food because it does not have the nutrition that we need after WLS. Its mostly carbohydrates and barely any Protein. Everyone's plan is different but I was told this by the NUT, surgeon, and the nurses upon discharge. If it never came up then I would ask your surgeons office if I were you. You dont want to get malnourished. Just lookin out for a fellow WLS Diva!

I'm 2 weeks post op and I have the same pain. If I lean to the right I'm fine but leaning to the left causes a slight jabbing pain. Also pushing myself up... like if you start to slouch while sitting and use your hands to push up ... That hurts the sharpest. I walk it out but doc says that it is likely the muscle. I am 16 days post op and Its scary to think that you couldnt handle fish and crab but a Protein bar was not a problem. They are hard and chewy, I would think the real food would be better than a Protein Bar.. yikes!

Did you try taking smaller swallows? Then pause for a minute or so and take another small amount. I use a baby spoon because it's easy to put a big amount in then it hurts like hell going down if you don't catch yourself. I would def call the Dr. .... Hope it gets better. That's a great story! My surgery was 2 weeks ago and same experience except they had me on a dilauted drip the day of surgery and took me off the day after... Boy did the pain kick in in my back and shoulders! Over all I'm happy too and the only reason that lady at work is like that is because she doesn't wanna look bad while your losing weight and she's not! Best of luck to ya. So today was my first day back to work after surgery. I grabbed a piece of chocolate from the candy dish ???? whyyyyy.... That was so stupid. Then I get home and my kids had just cooked a fresh pizza, my husband,starts yelling about something dumb, I start crying and then grabbed a slice of pizza... Took a bite and swallowed. My chest is on fire! Why must I be so stupid... Im still on liquids!! ???? I am really paying now... Can't breath it feels like I just took a blow to the chest just under my breast bone! I have a lot of pride and would not usually share this out of shame....but isn't that what were here for? To talk to others who are going thru the same. Thanks for reading about my screw up! Heyyy Beautiful Sharifah - I had my surgery at John Hopkins Bayview on 8/8/16! Yay, I found someone! My sugeon was originally Dr. Steele but she had to go out on medical leave and they switched me to Dr. Nguyen. The nurses are wonderful on 6th floor surgery unit. My goodness crissy79, I am sorry for your pain. We have a wonderful bariatric unit in MD called John's Hopkins Bayview medical center.
