  1. Hi sounds like we are on the same path. Glad to hear everything is going well with you too. I just got back from my post op appointment. Surgery was August 11th so a day over the 1 week mark. Pain has been tolerable, vomiting stopped the first couple of days, and getting Water in hasn't been as much of a chore. My surgeon and his assistant examined my incisions and answered questions. They want me to start more than just walking and add treadmill, elliptical, or cardio exercises. I haven't heard or read anything about "boogie size" - what is that? I have 4 incisions and the one on my left side has the most discomfort however they told me today my stomach was removed out of the middle and the left is just where the pain is felt. I can get up and down with some discomfort especially by the end of a long day. Same for me swelling will be fully down in another week or so. I guess they do phases differently. I like you have been reading everything possible. I was never given a week 1 diet just verbally told Clear liquids broth Jello etc. I had incorporated premier Protein shakes on my own because I saw most people had incorporated by week one and I know my NUT mentioned it to me at some point. Apparently I was NOT supposed to start until the second week but because I tolerated it I was ok. I will be on my stage 2 for about two weeks. I am able to take all pills as needed and the only Vitamin should be my Multivitamin. I use Flinstones chewable but was cleared to start the gummy- yay! Mine must be conservative as well because I am not allowed soft or puréed foods. I am allowed ONE "food" a day and must have 2 Protein Shakes a day. My foods include: soups- low fat- no meat rice no Pasta and blended, SF pudding, LF yogurt, LF cottage cheese, oatmeal, cream of what, farina, home made mashed potatoes (chicken broth, fat free milk, smart balance) and baby food. Mine was OK with soup but again only allowed one meal a day... I found on Amazon this brand called "proti" which my NUT said was okay they had tomato, cream Soups, and oatmeal with 30g of protein. She approved all for this stage (contradicts diet but whatever) I am scheduled for my lab work as well and they want me back in two weeks. September 12th. That was my experience - I know we should follow what our own doctor says but it's just difficult when I know that my doctor and NUT are giving me the same plan as other patients while yours is giving your plan to his other patients they are not specialized to just us. So to me if there is something in your second step that works why can't I try it? Maybe I'm just cranky from my week of liquids but I'm a little indifferent after my first appointment. 2. I thought my largest incision was the one above my belly button but it is the one to the left. Definitely experience the most pain on the left side if it is gas, standing, or discomfort it's felt there. Also on protonix was told not to crush it either and I was alright to swallow other pills. I haven't focused on Protein as much as I did Water can't imagine both at this step. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Thanks for the reply and well wishes! Glad to hear you are back to work - I am feeling MUCH better it feels like that was weeks ago! I also share the same craving for pizza but once I think about actually eating it the hunger goes away. I have to schedule my post op appointment this week so hopefully I can get some answers from my doctor. Everyone seems to have a various post surgery diet I was hoping to be able to add in something different even if it's just pudding. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. If it makes you feel better I had the EXACT same experience and was thinking the same thing but it DID get better. Everyone seemed to have this perfect in and out experience the doctors even said surgery went excellent. I was dry heaving from the second I woke up and began vomiting shortly after. I even got the hiccups during all of this it was as painful and scary as you are imagining. As for the catheter - I hit 800ml and they were forced to do one on the spot while I was awake! Everything that could go wrong did it was a nightmare. I'm now 4 days post surgery - still in pain but already feeling a difference and know there is a lot more change to come. 5. Not sure for anyone else but this process flew for me. One day I'm at my last required nutritionist appointment the next I am getting a call saying insurance will cover and time to set a date. This was the end of June set surgery for August 11th. Surgery went excellent from the doctors standpoint however I woke up with horrible nausea. From the moment I came out of surgery until I left the hospital - this was a huge problem for me. Swallowing wasn't an issue I just couldn't keep anything down and constantly getting sick. I was terrified I might strain something or cause damage to my new sleeve but I was reassured this was normal. I was in pretty bad pain but couldn't pin it on gas pain vomiting or the incision sites. Dilauden was my best friend it was the only time I was able to stay in one position and fall asleep. I wasn't sure if I had a low tolerance being my first surgery or if the pain was warranted. Everyone else seemed to have a very painless in and out experience. I was able to get out of bed and walk without problems just uncomfortable to change from laying to sitting to standing. Anyway after a few small issues (vomiting, unable to pee, and bad chest pain) I was cleared and on my way home next day. Overall 4 days post op on Clear Liquids not having issues getting fluids in, no more vomiting, some chest discomfort from incisions / gas pain. I find gas x helps a lot. Anyone else have a similar experience? Anyone else able to include sugar free pudding, apple sauce, or strained cream Soups in week one? I'm getting a little tired of all clear liquids. 6. Went for my sleeve on 8/11 - definitely in the same boat. I wanted to see my other options aside from Water, power aide zero, crystal light, sugar free Jello, and broth. I bought sugar free pudding, plain low fat yogurt, and no sugar added apple sauce but I was under the impression that can't be introduced until the second week. Did you hear the same thing? How's your pain at this point? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
