    Any March Banders out there

I'm also a nurse and from Louisiana. I'm scheduled for the lap band on March 17th. My cost is appoximately $15,000 and I'm having it done here in Shreveport about 15 minutes from where I live. I like the idea of having the same doctor for both the surgery and the follow up. What I'm paying includes all follow up with him as well. I understand that it was less expensive in Mexico and I hope that you find someone who follows you who doesn't charge a lot and who is good at what they do. My doctor is awesome. Best of luck!

    New to site from Louisiana

I'm in Shreveport. I am scheduled to be banded on March 17th....self pay: $15,000. My doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet for 2 weeks...thank goodness. I think I have to do clear liquids the day before surgery only. I am sooOOooo excited about having this done. I just decided about a week ago...I know that seems crazy. I expect to lose 100 pounds in 6 months. Anyone else from NW Louisiana?:w00t:

    I don't understand...

I'm scheduled to be banded on March 17th! I weigh 350 and I expect to lose 100 pounds in 6 months. I have no doubt that I will achieve that initial goal. Now...the other 80 pounds may take another year but that's okay. The reason I feel confident is because I know I will be working my fat ass off in the gym every second that I'm not working. (I'm an NICU nurse). My kids are grown and my husband is very supportive.
  4. Thanks oldtimer! I too am on Cpap BUT...other than needing to lose 180 pounds....(lol) and having painful joints.....I have no other health problems. I will do one or the other of those surgeries. I have no choice. I just turned 50 and I don't look nearly that age. I'd like to live a lot longer. I will pray I make the right choice. I will probably go with the adjustable because it seems safer. Ultimately the work is up to me. I just need a jump start. Thanks again.:rolleyes2:
  5. I am scheduled for the lap band on March 17th....St. Patricks Day! I've been reading this forum for a few days and decided it's time to be a part of it. I went to ticker factory and created a graph. Can anyone help????:blushing: I don't know how to import the ticker factory graph onto this site....!
  6. How do you get the ticker onto this site?

    Banding in March...I hope!

I have just started the process toward getting the lap band. I am so excited about it. Can somebody....anybody....tell me something great to make me even more excited. I'd love to hear from someone who has done well and lost a lot of weight. I know that I will...I am confident that I will stick to this program especially because I'm paying for it. My insurance doesn't cover this procedure. Looking forward to hearing from you. I'm in Shreveport Louisiana.
